I've found better luck when running down the YELP list of local towing services rather than relying on an emergency service number that calls from their list from some distant location. I was stranded, used YELP to find a towing service, this one was the third one I called. Absolutely ridiculous company!! I waited 7 hrs, called more than 6 times, and was told 45 minutes or sooner each time. The last call said they were 25 minutes out. Half an hour passed, and nothing no confirmation, no call, and excuses when on the phone. I had to cancel and call a different company. If I could give 0 stars, I would. I needed a battery jump. They answered their phone. They came, if not exactly quickly, within a reasonable amount of time, and they texted when they were on their way. Their truck and operator seemed respectable. I didn't feel ripped off by the price. So why not five stars? When you jump a car, you attach the red cable to the dead battery first to avoid getting a spark. This operator had some sort of charger, but got a spark when he connected the cable. Not a big deal usually, but these are the kinds of precautions that professionals take. Recommended. read more

My minivan would not start and was in an underground parking structure. Also, I was unable to get it out of gear. When the driver showed up the truck barely cleared the width and the height of the garage door, but got in. He knew the secret location to get the car out of gear, pushed it back, hooked it up And got it out of the garage very quickly. It would've been five stars except they originally told me 60 to 70 minutes and it was closer to 2 1/2 hours other than that I would use them again, but I hope I don't have to. read more

I told them I never got any calls. they didn't answer my text. when I finally got someone out there hours later. the equipment didn't work and I was stuck with a dead battery. and a 65$ bill. my day ruined. they refused to work with me on any type of retribution! they even tried to send me some generic voice mail. read more

We were told they would be there in 40 minutes and we end up having to call them twice. Asking how much longer they said, less than 20min , which wasn't the case. Took almost 2 hours waiting for them. This was during a weekend night. Find out on a Monday, they took the car and placed it on a different lot next to the collision business, and the owner of the body shop called him to move it. And took more phone calls and 3 days later threatening of police for the towing co to move vehicle in appropriate spot. I would definitely not recommend this company read more

call AAA to have my vehicle towed due to alternator issues, the tow truck driver arrived, smelling like a can of Miller lights slurry his words. He he could not get his flashlight on on his phone so he said I don't have time for this BS and instead of putting my car in neutral he decided to drag it with the winch onto the flatbed. I told him when he hooked it up and it was not in neutral. Please do not drag my car up there call another driver. He told me I'm the tow truck driver and then said do you know if your car is all-wheel-drive or 2 Wheel Dr. he said oh well don't make a difference ain't gonna cause damage I googled it quickly and told him it says it highly suggest not to my vehicle this way please do not put my vehicle on the tow truck. I do not want your it was too late to put my car on anyways when I was in the tow truck and I told him he should've told my car like slammed on his brakes and told me I could get out right there. put the vehicle in front of my house and I once said please see my car on the tow truck and call your supervisor. He told me it don't truck goes to Afghanistan and they really don't care about customer service I asked him for my paperwork he told me what paperwork this Tow never happend. he was jerking my car back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth to get it off the tow truck you could hear things cracking and snapping I was please stop you're gonna break something. He said I'm the professional I've been towing for two years. supervisor to report his behavior and let's just say customer is not right with They basically condone his behavior. Do not understand how AAA actually has contracts with this company. Supposedly they will be here to look at the damages on my vehicle tomorrow let's see if that happens. The driver was very helpful and nice. Got the job done quick. The dispatcher I spoke to on the phone informed me that the price would be $450 because there is a $300 fee to get a car out of a garage. The dispatcher explained that the fee was due to the fact that two trucks would be sent (one to retrieve the car from the garage and another to load it onto). Only 1 truck showed up and the driver got my car out in 2 minutes. Called the dispatcher back and spoke to a supervisor who gave me the run around and the supervisor claimed that the price was still $450 even though only 1 truck was sent because it's a $300 fee simply to retrieve the car from the garage. The supervisor said they sent a "special" truck. The driver explained they have these issues all the time and that nothing was special about his truck when I asked. Very shady. read more

I was having problems with my one month old Mazda CX 30, and whatever company Mazda uses to coordinate their roadside assistance, is really quite bad. However, once I finally did get someone I must say Jeremy @MKE Towing was better than fantastic! If you need roadside assistance, Jeremy is your guy, very helpful and very knowledgeable, and he just did everything right. This was a call at 10 o'clock at night and he was actually working on his birthday! It was a time were Milwaukee and the US had some really bad weather This is when Southwest had to cancel, 80% of the flights over Christmas. so there are a lot of people in this job category who were working hard and under a lot of stress. Jeremy quickly diagnosed what was going on and helped me get the car fixed without needing to tow it to the dealer as was originally what was I was told was the solution. I guess I can't say anything but everything that did was above and beyond he was in a situation that a lot of people would be destroyed by. But it was the exact opposite for Jeremy. You can tell he's knowledgeable, efficient, and above all else kind. I am grateful that this company was willing to tow my car the 40 miles I needed to get it to the mechanic by my home town, not many companies will do roadside assistance for that distance. I pay for the top level AAA membership. AAA however could not get me a tow truck in less than three hours for an accident at a pretty busy intersection so I had to find someone else. I called four other tow truck companies in the area with a similar response or bad customer service. MKE was the next on my list and very happy with the service. Sucks. Decided to take an extra 30 minutes to come. The driver needed to drop off a check before helping a stranded motorist.

They never showed up. They pushed their pick up time forward an hour then another hour. After 4 hours, I called and they said "don't worry". After 5 hours I gave up on them. This is a case where you won't know if they are bad until it's 3 hours too late. You have to rely on this review. Even if this is their only bad review, ask yourself, how could I possibly read this and still use this company. read more

I wasn't going to post this, but I hope no one else goes through this experience at all. I was not driving my own vehicle so I had to call a tow company because the tire blew on the freeway earlier. I called MKE Towing & Recovery and it went downhill. I'm just grateful that my children and I are alive. I called the 414-578-7586 number and let them know that the tire had blown on the freeway. The operator who answered the phone asked if I had a spare tire. I told him I was not sure but that I would check. I was not sure because the vehicle that I was driving was not my vehicle. The operator said not to worry that they could either tow the vehicle if there was no spare tire or put the spare tire on if there was one. The driver was extremely friendly and seemed helpful. He told me that he could use the spare tire and changed the tire. He told that me that the lug nuts were too small for the tire and not to drive too much on the tire. Which wasn't my plan, I would drive directly to the tire shop after the change. My children were in the vehicle. As I started driving the vehicle was wobbling insanely, the tow truck was still behind me at this point and he ended up having to speed around me. Thank goodness, I used my better judgement and went to the nearest tire shop. The mechanics at the tire shop told me that thank God nothing happened to me and my children. The vehicle was unsafe to drive due to the fact that the this tow company did not remove a circular piece off the rim before putting the spare tire on. Furthermore, they shared with me that the lug nuts were not the issue, the issue was simply that the tow truck driver did not properly install the spare tire. I called MKE Towing & Recovery back to let them know what happened. The operator was very disrespectful, defensive, and argumentative when I told him what happened. He kept saying that I refused a tow and was told the vehicle was not safe to drive, which I did not refuse nor was I told it was unsafe to drive. The driver said that the spare tire was fine to use. If the spare tire was unsafe to use the driver would have never put the tire on and would've just towed the vehicle. I had him on speaker phone so the employees of the tire shop heard our entire conversation. The mechanics even tried to intervene to let MKE Towing and Recovery know what they did wrong. Very poor customer service! He said to me as I quote "what do you want me to do". I asked for a refund twice, I told him either the full refund or half. He said, "No, you didn't get in an accident or anything". I was completely disgusted at this point and he definitely got some choice words. You don't treat people like that, that is bad business. I was really prepared to give a good review, but unfortunately that is not the case. Thank God for the tire company, their service was superb. I will never use this company again! read more

We called MKE Towing because our full size van broke down and AAA wouldn`t help us because they had no companies that would tow our van. The driver was one of the owners of the company and he was so nice and professional. He came quickly and took us and our van from Oak Creek to Sussex for a reasonable price. While most people don't want to have to hire a tow truck, if we ever have the need we will definitely call MKE again. Forget AAA. I'm cancelling our membership with them.
