I had a very sizeable hole in my tooth and an inflamed nerve, so, I needed to get in to see someone fast. I've had dentist visits before where they get you in fast and friendly but they do their work and don't tell you anything about price until you're checking out - and then, oh, one more surprise, no payment plans available. My experience at Apple Tree Dental in Rexburg was life changing and completely erased any anxiety I had developed about dentist visits. I get in there for my first visit ever and they're all so friendly and welcoming, introducing all the ladies behind the desk. Then I get a tour. The receptionist took me around the office and showed me all the rooms and explained what they did in each. she showed me pictures on the wall of their employees and the dentists so I'd recognize the people there. Then she took me in the back office and filled out the paperwork with me. she was so relaxed and friendly, before we even started, she asked me about myself and shared interests with me; I felt like she really cared about me as a person. Then she explained the process of what we were to do from start to finish and that's what we did. And she quoted me on what the initial consultation and assessment would cost and it was very reasonable. The nurse/hygienist who helped me in the back was just as friendly and caring and she made me feel pampered! I still worried about costs because all of this seemed like it would be too good to be true, like the service was going to sneak up on me and cost a little more or something. They took pictures of my teeth and that was an interesting experience; not just the black and white x-ray but actual color photos so I could see what they saw when they looked into my mouth. It was a very informative experience and made me feel like I was a part of the care I was receiving, rather than just a passive object being acted upon; I was able to know for myself and see what was going on too!. Dr. Larson was amazing and just as amiable as everyone else had been and made me feel like my input and choices were important as he gave the initial assessment after looking at the problems. There were several options and he made it feel like I could choose what I wanted to happen, that there wasn't something just happening to me. They all cared about the pain I was in and getting me relief as soon as possible. Then the financial lady, Lisa, sat down and talked prices with me and she was very transparent about how the costs would end up for each of the options I was given. She even offered to allow a payment plan for the root canal(I ended up going for the cheaper option of just getting the tooth extracted but it was so comforting and nice to know that if ever I were in a better position, I could make that choice and it wouldn't be a 'pay it all now' situation, which I have been put in before by other dental offices). Then the extraction occurred and they were all very responsive, even when I had to be numbed a couple times because a twinge in my jaw just wouldn't go away. I felt like, even though it's a brutal business having to yank someone's tooth out, Dr. Larson was careful and gentle, using different tools to get it to where it needed to be to be taken out. And they even took another picture afterwards to make sure it hadn't broken and there were no slivers of tooth left. Very thorough. And the hygienist, Megan, sat me down and explained how to care for it at home. She went into detail and she made me feel like it was real, the way she described it, giving me the suggestion of drinking a milk shake, taking my pain meds, and just putting on a movie. So, that's what I did and it worked out just as she said. Everything from start to finish was wonderful and I will recommend them to anyone and I will go back for all my check-ups and maintenance. Our experience has been outstanding at Apple Tree Dental. My family and I moved into the area in 2017 and we searched for a local dental practice. I have a bad history with dentists so when we moved I needed to find a dental practice with staff that made me feel comfortable and understanding of my fear of dentistry. I have now seen Dr. Larsen and Dr. Sessions multiple times as well as my family members. The Apple Tree Dental staff are super friendly and I am extremely happy with the care I have received from them. From walking in the door to sitting in the dental chair, we have felt valued and welcomed into their office. I have some jaw pain issues and I went into Dr. Larsen for a consult. I have had the jaw discomfort for over a year. Dr. Larsen has been super helpful with the process and has gone the extra mile for my case. I have received calls directly from Dr. Larsen in regard to my jaw issues and I feel that he truly cares for me and my family. After seeing both Dr. Sessions and Dr. Larsen for various items they both called me to check up on how I was doing. The work that the Dr.'s and their staff have done for me and my family has worked out nicely and we are super happy to be patients of their office. I would recommend Apple Tree Dental and Dr. Michael Larsen to anyone searching for a Dentist in the Rexburg Idaho area. We recently moved to the area and finding a dentist is always a concern. We could not have chosen a better office and staff. Dr. Larsen is very knowledgeable as well as comprehensive. However, he is also conservative in his approach and patient and attentive to the needs of his patients. I appreciate the comforts of his office including a short wait time, cleanliness, comfort, and the tools and their application. I appreciate how he uses his experience to counsel when work needs to be done and when it can wait. He is honest. I have appreciated the billing practices as they are very organized and fair. It's me again! I had another cavity so I went in but this time I was with Dr. Sessions. Everything was perfect once again! I was skeptical about another doctor because I love Dr. Larson so much but Dr. Sessions was great! It was fast and comfortable! They used a sort of contraption that I've never seen before and loved it! It prevented any metallic water or other sour tastes from drizzling on my tongue or down my throat. It never felt uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure I could've fallen asleep. I didn't have to do anything like swallow any salvia build up or move tongue around! Dr. Larson is the best. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoy going to the dentist now. I get stressed out whenever I go to a dentist because of past experiences, but Apple Tree Dental makes me feel very comfortable. They have all of the most modern tools. I didn't feel any discomfort or pain. Lisa was accommodating, and one more thing was that they (Dr Larsen and Lisa) spoke Spanish to me. All of the assistants and the doctor were great. The dentist and staff at Apple Tree Dental have been wonderful to us. We have lost all fear of going to the dentist. The chairs have back massage built into them if you want to relax more while they work on your teeth, and they have all the most modern gadgets and conveniences to make our teeth look their best.
