It ceases to amaze me that, every time I enter Applebee's here in Beaver dam something goes wrong it's inevitable and it's disappointing and frustrating. I am flabbergasted at the incompetence of the staff. Today I walked in and the hostess, (friendly and all) seemed she forgot to clean her clothes and her aroma is unsettling and turns the stomach. Not only that but our waitress who don't get me wrong her service is good she was friendly but is not aware of the knowledge of the different type of eggs as in a hard, or easy, sunny side up, so on and so forth and got my order wrong. Not only this but my fries that come with the burger are stale and taste of bitterness. I then have to bring it up and try to get it fix and then the bring it back made right but this time the fries are not seasoned. It's getting to the point that I don't want to give them my business anymore because they some how mess it up and when they fix it they do a Poor job of satisfying the customer when they are in the wrong. read more

We ordered carbide to go. We got there and she immediately brought out the food, realized after she walked away she gave us the wrong order. She had already swiped our card so mgr had to do a refund. Then we waited 15 minutes past our pickup time. Got home, husband's burger and bun were burnt, fries were cold and he told them no raw onions only fried. They put both on. My shrimp alfredo had no flavor. We are so done with Applebees, we have given them so many chances and they are always screwing something up. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO APPLEBEES. read more

We sat at Applebee's for 40 minutes just waiting to be served. Service is very rough and food isn't much better. New location is very nice.

We were hesitant to try our local Applebee's after seeing all the bad reviews. The only slow service we had was the time it took to get our drinks delivered to our table. That was ridiculous. I waited about 20 minutes for my Bahama Mama. My husband received his beer within a few minutes of ordering. The waitress was prompt and friendly. Our food didn't take too long to arrive to our table. We had dinner here on a Thursday night. Not sure how it is on a weekend. We will definitely come back here, but not sure if I'll order anything from the bar. read more

Went here for lunch with my husband and youngest daughter (still an infant). I got what I expected. The same applebee's atmosphere I've come to expect from their other good locations. The same quality food. The wait staff was super friendly, even chit chatting about my daughter and their children (something I've come to expect in Beaver Dam). Nothing to complain about. read more

I used to love this place, unfortunately it seems they still haven't gotten used to their new location. The service and food was fast and good in their old location, as soon as they moved however the service became slow, the food became undercooked, and they often didn't even have the food item available. Service is good as long as they are not "busy". Food is good steaks and nicely done and ribs are VERY good.

If you want ice cold food when you pick up car side to go, then this is your place. I live less than six minutes away from this location. My husband got home with our burger and fries and everything was cold as ice. What a waste. We have had bad luck here in the past, but decided it has been a year or so since we have had Applebees and we would give it another shot. Same problems, different day. I have no clue how this location stays in business or makes any money. Always awful. McDonalds is better than this place. read more

I went for dinner with my daughter and my niece, everything started fine we ordered our drinks our Server came back delivered our drinks and took our order. We finished our drinks and someone else ended up bringing out our food. We ate our diner with our glasses empty. After we finished eating we sat there for awhile and our server finally showed up again so we ordered more drinks because we just ate a meal with nothing to drink. She then brought out our bill which came to $78.30 I put $100 cash with bill and asked for the change. I am normally a 20% tipper but thought probably would only tip 15% on this occasion. She brought me $20 back in change just assuming she should keep the $1.70 that she shorted me. I feel that should be my choice to give that instead of her automatically assuming it. For the 4th time, my T1D granddaughter was served regular soda. The server although her first week there, was informed multiple times that the soda must be diet because she was a diabetic. The response from the manage, whom made sure I knew he had 2 business degrees, after being asked if he understood what could this mistake could cause. He nonchalant said "yes she could die." All they do is remove the kid meal. I am not asking for the entire meal free but some changes in the business. Here is a easy solution. Change the color of diet soda glasses. Make them blue instead of red like the rest. Even customize the kids cups also. I have told my daughter to bring her own beverage for my granddaughter this way we will never have an issue in the future. read more

Waitress hardly ever came to our table, couldn't order a new drink, waited almost an hour for our food, food wasn't good, watched a woman wait from before I got there until I was leaving and never received her food, this list could probably go on. We simply wanted an appetizer and a glass of wine and they couldn't even deliver that. The place was almost empty (not surprisingly) and the bar was FULL of dirty glasses. The lights were so bright it hurt our eyes and they played "rap" music (completely inappropriate) outrageously loud. Who manages this place? Before the locaton move i have been out to dinner for the half priced apps about 2 or 3 times, with every time resulting in either a bill mix up, food mix up, or just crappy slow service. So I thought i would give it a try one more time due to the new spot. That was the worst mistake to make. I was greeted politely, and quickly sat down with a slight table mix up and it was going well. It was decently busy and we were asked our drink order's by someone other than our server. We ordered 2 waters with lemon. Not long after someone new came with 3 waters. Then our server came with 2 more waters. And left them at the table although we already had 3. We ordered and waited. A LONG LONG TIME. meanwhile, the tables around us had left and were also left dirty. I saw one group upset because they had a check confusion and another left angry because their server never returned. Also, people were waiting to be seated. While dirty tables are sitting and sat for about 20 minutes. When our food arrived the chips for the spinach and artachoke dip were complete crumbs and the wings were hot instead of the original. Also, we asked for silverware and napkins twice before we were brought any. And when they arrived we had 4 forks and a pile of napkins, nothing was rolled together with spoons or knives. The waitress also was awkward and couldnt count. Our checks on the machine at the table were not ours by any means and the tab was left open from the previous table. So our bills took a while to arrive, and a while to return with our cards. Overall nothing has changed. 0 out of 10. And i wouldnt recommend the Beaver Dam Applebee's. It hasnt changed and I doubt it ever will. read more

I seriously think that Applebee's corporate office should just close up in Beaver Dam and write the town off. I'm not sure if it's this town, or management, or what, but they cannot seem to get a single thing right here. We had written off the former location due to things like raw steak, cold food, mold, terrible service, etc. but decided to give the new location another shot. Big mistake. I will admit that the food has improved some, but the service has gotten worse - and I wasn't sure that was actually possible. I had to ask for water three times, and still ended up waiting forever for it. They brought the wrong sauce for my daughter's food. I was charged $7 for a margarita that was tiny and mostly ice. It was probably 3 sips worth of actual liquid. We waited and waited for EVERYTHING here. I may have actually ordered dessert had I not expected a 2 hour wait to actually get it. Getting the check was like pulling teeth. We asked for a "to go" box for leftovers - never got it. When we did get the bill, there were charges on there for drinks we never ordered and never received. Someone either got drinks on our dime, or our bill was just padded for no reason. This place should be shut down yesterday. Redecorate all you want, but it will not make up for average food at higher prices and the WORST service in Beaver Dam. Good luck - you'll need it. We came here on a Tuesday evening to celebrate my birthday. We even mentioned that it was that day. They weren't very busy. We thought service would be fast. Ha! They came to take our order, and we waited quite awhile. The waitress that took our order, never appeared again! Two others brought out the food. They took my husband's drink to refill, but never came back with it. Nobody came to ask how the food was. My daughter's steak was tough. They showed up 45 minutes later and I asked for the bill and to comp my daughter's meal. No Happy Birthday dessert or nothing!! This was a 2nd try after coming only a month ago with my other daughter. And her chicken was RAW!! We showed the manager and they apologized for it....just bad. My wife and I went to Applebee's today and in previous visits here it has been far from good. Waitstaff, managers and even kitchen help were very lack luster. Today we thought one last try and we were amazed. The food was great, very timely and our waiter, Nolan, was fantastic. Horrible, incompetent staff! Absolutely no one working had any idea what they were doing! The servers were slow and lazy. They did nothing without being prompted. They did not bring drinks or bring utensils. They did not take orders. They did not even place some orders in our party. They had no idea who had placed orders that made it out of the kitchen. Kitchen staff made meals incorrectly and servers argued with customers who complained. Wait staff tried to bill those in our party whose food order never got placed. Don't go! My husband and I visited your Beaver Dam WI location on 10/10/2014 (unsure of the time as we did not get a receipt) and ordered of the 2 fo $25 menu I ordered the double crunch shrimp and a root beer (your root beer tastes too watered down) and my husband ordered the steak well done, when our food got to our table my husband cut into his steak and it was not the way he ordered it, our server took in into the kitchen and never brought anything back, it took a manager for my husband to get his food that still was not the way he ordered it, after that the manager was nowhere to be seen and neither was our server until it came time for the bill and then she was gone again so we were forced to leave a tip when one was not deserved because we could not find our server to get change...it was a very disappointing trip we were also not suggested anything when our server came to our table or at any point in the time that we were there (Zero stars should be an option) read more

We entered the recently opened Applebees at 7PM, were seated immediately and our server, Jesse, was at our table by 7:05. The décor is decidedly more upscale than the former restaurant but still retained a local flavor with photos of familiar area sites and events. It appears to be 1/3 eat- in bar and 2/3 restaurant. The restaurant was 3/4 full which seemed busy for a Thursday night. Our orders of ribs/appetizer and Thai Shrimp salad came in about 30 minutes. Jesse apologized for the delay stating the kitchen was backed up. The food was good, I'd order the Thai shrimp again. The rib appetizer could have benefited with a garnish. We had a coupon and ordered the new Churro S'Mores. Jesse apologized, again for the slow service. The S'mores arrived cooler than we anticipated and while attractive were only ok in flavor. We observed sufficient wait staff, all of whom were pleasant. They grouped to sing several Happy Birthdays to 13 and 21 year olds. Kelli, the manager, stopped by our table among others.. She told us she's worked her way up from wait staff to Manager in three years. The restaurant is still in opening stages and procedures are still being tweaked. Kelli said, Monday Hamburger specials keep the place busy, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are less busy. The large portions, young energetic, and pleasant wait staff should keep people coming back until the initial shake down is complete. We left the restaurant shortly before 8:30. For a $$ rated restaurant, this is a pleasant experience. I noted the bar area was more full at our departure time; six TVs had a variety of programs showing. We look forward to a return and hope to see improvements in time from order to arrival of order. Meanwhile the extended time is good for diners wanting a more leisurely experience. read more
