This updated review is solely for their breakfast: I was extremely excited that they delivered on the breakfast items we ordered. The egg cookery was done expertly. The early shift chefs really care about the food that comes out of the kitchen. I cannot say that confidently for the PM chefs. I was also happy to see the food comes out so hot. The potatoes were also VERY good. They have plenty of peppers and onions. Usually when you get home fries out, they are just straight up potato. These are veggie forward. I really enjoy this location. It's very clean and the food is good. The bathroom is always clean as well. There's plenty of parking. I don't recommend coming on a weekend but during the week, it's quick and great service. Slower on weekends as expected. read more

I've been here about 3 times this week because I've been in the area and I love it! There are a couple of rude staff members but as a whole the place is comfortable and enjoyable to dine in. The place is clean and organized. The bathrooms are also well kept which is always great. They also prioritize cleaning up after people leave quickly so they're pretty attentive. My orders always come as expected and quick. The drinks are always good, I literally have no complaints! The area is also great to walk around for some quick time shopping. I've come to this Applebee's twice now and both time have had to wait over 30 mins for pick up orders...not sure what the point of a pick up order is if orders won't be ready not even close to ready on time. It's not even busy in the restaurant so I don't understand what the issue is. Then I got a dessert where the ice cream was melted as soon as I opened the bag. My friend's and I went to eat out at the this Applebee's location in Bronx Throgsneck. We were seated at the table and started to itch me and a few other friends and we looked around wondering why we were all itchy all of a sudden. The table was wiped off before we sat but I then thought maybe it was the seating because they don't clean chairs off ever when people leave. I usually have to wipe of my self before I sit. However I happened to look up at the huge lamp above our heads at the table where we sat. It was very very dusty as if it hadn't been clean for months. Also other side ledges close to tables were dusty too. We also noticed the carpeting on the floors was also very dirty discolored from front to back of the resteraunt after I got up to walk around and see more. In passing I also got to quickly peep at the kitchen floor as an employee came out from kitchen with food to serve to a table. The kitchen floor was also dirty with food the workers dropped and kept walking past it that I saw from afar. The whole area was trashy with food particles on floor. As I walked back to the table I started to remember back in 2014 when I used to go there alot with friends back in the day and recalled seeing the same exact carpet from 11 years ago. Carpeting, cleaning and renovations should have been put in place since then. Lastly they don't have a proper air conditioner for the resteraunt. It was hot in the resteraunt and It looks like you'll had some type of coolant with 2 filters that blew out minimal air. Not a good look at all for a resteraunt with customers, employees too much germs floating in air from filth. Cold air is needed to fight off germs, especially in a crowded resteraunt. I am very disappointed on what I saw at the Applebee's in this Throgsneck Bronx location. My friends and I had to leave the resteraunt yesterday without ordering, eating after seeing and going through this. I'm surprised the department of health hasn't called this location out on their filth. We and many other customers would not be returning to eat here anymore. read more

Everything needs to be changed. Never saw a manager walking around to make sure everything is running smoothly. Food was lukewarm warm. Servers were few and far in between. I got conned, my family (my wife, my son, and I) and I went for the 3 for $9.99 menu, after not seeing it in the menu and looking for it on the windows, I went to the website and on the fine print said: at participating stores I decided to ask our waitress and when asked, she was baffled by it as she never heard about the 3 for $9.99 special so in a dark packed restaurant I was forced to order from the regular menu. $18 for a plain burger that when ordered from the 3 for $9.99 comes with unlimited fries and soda. The food was great but as we walked out of the restaurant my wife located a 14x8.5 inch post with the special, this sign is located opposite of the opening of the door and under the health department grading sign . Extremely disappointed with the service at this location. On Sunday May 25,2025 around 6ish, My husband and I were seated at the bar area and sat for over 10 minutes with no menu or acknowledgment, despite the waitress passing us several times. A couple who arrived after us was helped immediately. We spoke to the hostess, who was kind and tried to help by letting the waitress know we had been waiting. Unfortunately, that just made things worse. The waitress clearly took it out on us and was visibly annoyed. Her attitude was unprofessional and unpleasant, while she continued to be friendly with other tables. I've been here before and never had an issue, but this experience was unacceptable. I am sure I am not the first, nor will I be the last to make a complaint about her personality as a waitress and work ethics. I'm staying in an airbnb in the Bronx and have ordered from Applebees via Uber Eats. The first time was great, we got the food and the lemonades. The second two times, we didn't get the drinks. So, tonight, after not getting the lemonade for a 2nd time, I called the restaurant. Manager Gloria Zapata not only drove over with the two lemonades herself, but she also included a free dessert. I went to this location on 11/1/19 with a long time friend of mine and had a really nice dinner. I was happy to see a familiar face when I walked in. RAFAEL MORALES is one of the most courteous servers I have ever had. I hope Applebee's realizes what a valuable asset they have withe him at this Location. Of the "chain restaurants" in our neighborhood I am partial to the overall dining experience of Applebee's. Especially after today's visit where "southern hospitality" is thriving in the North! I hadn't been served yet but was over whelmed by the hospitality of this staff! Chuck the manager greeted us at the door with such a warm welcome! He was hands on all over the dining room and has such a great personality! Our waitress Dominique is such a doll and very, very knowledgeable about the menu! She is the type of server that should train other staff in the etiquette of serving! And of course this atmosphere comes from the general manager, Jamie, who sets the tone with his professional yet warm demeanor. The food we ordered today came quickly and was great! We ordered from both the lunch menu and the new "create your own" combos for $19.99. First we started with the Tomato Basil soup that is always a favorite! Lots of options with each but with my lunch combo menu I choose the classic and signature combo for $9.99. I had an exceptional southwestern steak and black bean soup that was chock full of a lot of tender steak meat, black beans topped with cheese, tortilla strips and diced fresh tomato salsa in a spicy amazing soup! The other half was a nice sized southwestern chicken salad with perfectly grilled sliced chicken breast and a nice lime cilantro dressing! We ordered from the $19.99 combo menu the 6oz Sirloin and the half rack double glazed baby back ribs that both were seared and seasoned perfectly with two sides of creamy garlic mash and roast potatoes! I ordered the all you can eat special which consisted of one of three entrees: chicken fingers and fries; shrimp and fries; or rib tips and fries. I started out with the rib tips which were okay then went to the shrimp and fries. The shrimp were soft to the touch which meant they weren't good. Also they were tiny and fried in old grease cause the outside of the shrimp was dark brown in color. So I sent them back. Then I ordered the chicken fingers. They were lukewarm. Okay. But nothing to write home about. Needless to say I will not order that again and will think twice before going back to this particular Applebee's. read more

I've been to almost every Apple been in Manhattan and the Bronx and I have never had service or food this bad. My wife and I ordered a blue moon and a drink for starters. Her drink was a little over half a glass, the orange for my Bluemoon was horribly cut and uneven. When dinner arrived my steak was cold to the touch. Tried to look overlook this and asked for silverware and the waitress took the two fors that were on the table wrapped in a napkin and brought back two more forks in a napkin. I asked how was I supposed to eat this? We left and voiced our displeasure to the staff who were not suprised and admitted that the location was the worse one. read more

The only thing that saves this place for me is the friendly staff. The food is horrendous here. This is the second time I go here and they bring me a raw steak or burger. I like my meat medium, but apparently the cooks in the back don't know what the hell medium is. My burger was so raw it was trying to eat the lettuce. This place has failed me way too many times. At conception this place was awesome, but like most Applebee's they let themselves go. My party of 10 and I will never eat here again. I have been to that branch of Applebee's few times in the past and the service was always bad. The food was ok but nothing really special about it. Last Friday when I came again during the afternoon when the place wasn't busy, I stepped into the restaurant the staff and the host completely ignored me and were busy talking to each other. I have been waiting for few minutes until a family came into the restaurant and the host gave them his full attention right a way.
