First and Last time ordering Curbside to Go from this location. I am typically a defender of Applebees -- they're food is (usually) good and reasonably priced. Tonight, we ordered two burgers and mozzarella sticks. The cheese sticks had the texture of having sat out for a minute and only being warmed up prior to receiving our order. The biggest bother, though, was BOTH burgers were made incorrect TWICE, and one WAS STILL incorrect the third time but we just said screw it and left after waiting for AN HOUR for their attempts to get our order right. To top it all off, the service was horrendous. As a former waitress myself, when orders were inaccurate, I apologized profusely, and tried to offer some consolation when orders were wrong twice. The employee did not so much as smile at me, much less offer an "I'm sorry" for our wait, inconvenience, or inaccurate orders. I will return to Applebee's, but NEVER this location. read more

I don't know why I came back. It had been about 5 years since I have eaten here, and have no need to come back. The place was mostly empty on a Monday night, but it still took 10 minutes after I was seated for a server to stop by my table. I will never go back to this Applebee's on Two-Notch again! I have given this location several opportunities to be a minimum "decent". Rarely do the workers smile or greet you. I've walked in and a group was standing by the bar talking. They looked up at my party and turned their heads. I stood there for several minutes before loudly asking if a greeter was on duty. Only then did someone, standing in that group of employees, approach the front (btw she was the greeter on duty). This last time (my birthday) the food was horrible. The greeter was pleasant at least. The fajitas were terrible! The steak was hard to chew and the peppers could not be chewed. As soon as we got home my daughter became ill and vomited everything. They messed up a kid's alfredo pasta. The alfredo sauce smelled terrible. It was my fault for not checking it out in the restaurant. I know it was that food because she hadn't eaten anything since breakfast and it was about 6/7 pm. It was just terrible!!!! I am not usually this harsh but I'm actually being nice at the moment. Ok first of all when reviews say bad things I usually take a chance and still go.. Well in this case.. It was a huge mistake!!! I will never ever set foot into this Applebee's or any other because of this one.. Horrible service! The food made me sick .. I had a Asian chicken salad and it made my stomach hurt and didn't go well.. Mind you I got the salad after about waiting 45 or more min for it. This was my first time back to this particular Applebee restaurant in 12 years. The last time was enjoyable enough so, figured we'd go again to try their All you can eat menu. It took 6 minutes to be seated though, there were many empty tables. Another 6 minutes to be greeted by the server (who was also the bartender). We ordered our drinks and food. Drinks were served in about 5-6 minutes. 45 minutes later, the server/bartender said she checked on our order. Apparently, it was given to a couple that came in 25 minutes after us. They, just happened to order the same things as, my wife and I. After another 15 minutes, the manager came by and asked how we were doing. When I replied, "Still waiting." she asked what we were waiting for. I said "Almost an hour, now" she said "No, what did you order? I'll check on it." She never returned and was very un-apologetic. There were several people waiting to be seated that waited in excess of 15 minutes. Though again, there were many empty tables. I won't be back to this place again. I'm upset with myself that I still tipped 10 percent despite the terrible service and the poor attitudes of the manager and servers. I hadn't been to an Applebee in several years so I decided to try the one on two notch.my friend ordered a chicken finger basket n i had to order a salad instead of the buffalo wings that I wanted initially.the reason being was because they ONLY had one type of wing sauce...smh.moving forward..ordered a side salad and fries.not only did we wait 10 minutes for the waiter to come tale our drink order we weren't offered or even brouğhy the usual glass of water that is generally given prior to u ordering.oh it gets better. Lol when the appetizers finally came which took over an hour to get we had to wait for silverware...the only reason we didn't leave to start with was because we were on a tight schedule for a 5pm movie and wouldn't have time to go somewhere else.we came in at 3:30pm and between the slow service and below average menu and the only thing that was decent was the salad .and although I thought is was nice that they dice their tomatoes and cucumbers the lettuce was not shredded.the waiter was pleasant but he seem to be the only one they had working the section we were sitting in which had more customers than the rest of the resturant.so there aren't any misconception the pleasant and humorous waiter name was Jerome. This place doesn't even deserve one star. How can a restaurant that's been in business so long not get what makes a restaurant successful... But I digress... We went here because I got a coupon through email for my birthday. Buy one entree get one free... It was expiring today so I drug my husband here against his will (cuz he knows how lame Applebees is) & sure enough, I should've listened... Right when we walked in the hostess was looking down scowling and rolling her eyes at something, didn't say anything to us and after a minute I said "hey", then she was like "hey, I'll be right with you," with an attitude and I should've walked right out at that point but a really nice friendly hostess came walking up and chatting with our 4 year old and happily brought us to our table.. It took a while for our server to get our drinks and then he didn't even ask our kid what she wanted and forgot to bring her anything. We order our entrees with the coupon in mind and told the server about the coupon and asked if he wanted it, but he said no, he would take it at the end. (He also didn't know the menu and I asked a question and he told me something wrong and I had to show him where it said entrees came with 2 sides.. ) from there it took just under an hour to get our food including our antsy 4 year olds kids meal.. and when we asked about our food the server just blamed the kitchen...I don't think people care who's fault it is they just want a good experience & when that's not provided, why would anyone come back to that restaurant? So at this point I'm not even hungry anymore, we just want to get the heck out of there.. we ask for boxes and our check, give him the coupon and we're waiting for 15 minutes, then I take the food and our little one to the car and we wait in the car for another 15 minutes for my husband to pay... It took so long because they wouldn't except the coupon because it wasn't for that address!!??!! They better be so happy I was already in the car! they said they had no affiliation with that Applebees.. really? And gave us some free appetizer coupons... which are completely useless considering I'm never going back... So please, do yourself a favor and stay far away if you want a decent dining experience... I will never eat at another Apple Bees in Columbia SC because I went apple bees on broad river rd on a Sunday after church sat down my as sister and I order what we wanted and they did have riblets in he store but had it on the menu the hostess said they ran out Saturday and only had one cook about 15 people was there we had waited about 2 1/2 hours for our food since we lost our appetite to eat inside we left with to go plates and spent about 45.00 a piece with additional orders got home did eat my food till the next day it was not the same after it was left-over or did enjoy it at home when we anticipated to eat inside I called the managers about my complaint gave my name and contact info no one called or reply back to me I wanted to speak the manager before I gave review so here it is one star for poor service I even tipped the hostess for doing her job #unsatisfied customer wants no more Apple Bees read more

This is the worst Applebee's in the Columbia area. My family and I went to dine around 8pm. The restaurant was not crowded, it took five minutes for us to be seated and then another ten before someone came to out table (only after me asking a server for assistance). There was only ONE server working his hind off for his customers. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. One plate at a time. This is the second time I have experienced bad service here. Those 15 minutes gave us the chance to look around and horror of all horrors: the blinds looked like they have never been dusted off since it opened! the overhead lamp on our area was in the same condition, floor was nasty as well! I wish I could give this place 0 stars. We should have left after the host seated two tables of the same amount of people before us. She had no idea what she was doing and couldn't care less that we were packed like sardines in the tiny lobby meanwhile half of the tables were empty. We heard servers complaining right in front of us about not wanting any more tables because they are going home. Finally we were sat at a dirty table at the bar. No menus, no silverware. We had to get up and find them ourselves. We sat at the table for 15 minutes. Not a single member of staff who passed us acknowledged us. Eventually my husband found a server to take care of us. She got us drinks and took our order. The service was incredibly slow. It took us 40 minutes to get our food. Not once did the server come back during that 40 minutes. We sat with empty drinks until the food finally arrived. We would have left if we could have found our server and just paid for our drinks. Our food was subpar. Fries were cold. Salad was drowning in dressing. It felt like it couldn't get worse. Server never asked how our food was and it took nearly 20 minutes to find her so we could finally get our check. We never saw a manager once or I would have said all of this to them. Very poor management. Lazy, rude, and poorly trained staff. Below average food and dirty tables, menus, silverware and floors. This was the worst dining experience we have had in a very long time. I usually don't post reviews, be it good or bad, but this experience was so horrible that I feel the need to warn everyone to abstain from this Applebee's and urge management to make some serious changes and fast. First, we were greeted by a hostess whom couldn't care less whether we were seated or not. She directed us to a dirty table. When asked if she had something to whipe the table off with, she abruptly cut me off by telling me that my concern was stains on the table. One was not. After wiping the table down with a soaking wet rag, she rolled her eyes at me when I asked for a napkin to wipe off the water. Needless to say she never came back with my napkin and I had to get it from our server. Our server was nice enough but possibly stretched thin as we had to wait forever to get silverware, our food (not in that order), and we never received a refill even though one of our glasses was removed from the table for refill. We actually had to search for silverware at the bar and the greeting station. The people seated behind us complained also especially when the server brought to them plastic utensils to eat with while dining in. Upon trying to leave we waited forever for our check. Again, this was the worst dining experience we have had in a very long time. If you must visit Applebee's, please visit another location. read more

I will start off saying that the service was good and I have absolutely no complaints about it. My issue was the food, I ordered the 3 appetizers which were boneless chicken, chicken wontons and the shrimp (hot) not sure of actual name. My chicken was hard and cooked too long, the slaw that comes on the wontons was cold and my shrimp were hard and dried out. I was with a guest and I'm assuming my food had to sit under the light to wait for the other order. But wouldn't it have been better to wait to cook mine so that it wouldn't have to dry out under the light. The sauce that comes on the shrimp was no longer visible and the ranch dressing that I asked for with my wings were hot. It was not a good food experience and suggest that the cook be aware of the time and when food should be prepared especially if you are not busy at all. The waitress Porsha was excellent and very apologetic but the manager Dwayne avoided us like the plague. He did not come to our table until we asked for him. We ate here on a busy Friday night about 930 pm. We did have about a 45 min wait (ergo the 4 star rating), but after that the service and food was great. I would highly recommend this location. I wish I could remember our male servers name as he did an Awesome job. We drove an extra 10 miles to this location due to the poor reviews of the other locations closer to our hotel and were glad that we did. Me and some friends went to Applebee's one night, only to be met with an overflowing waiting area and a hour-long wait. When we finally got in there, it took 20 minutes for them to come and ask for what we wanted. We ordered our entrees and drinks, which also took half an hour to get. We put in our main order which takes an hour and a half for them to bring. Only for it to be low-quality. I got a steak with fries and a Diet Coke, only for the Coke to be flat, the steak to be tough and chewy, and the fries to be overly salted and soggy. My friend's meals didn't turn out any better either. Our waitress was extremely polite and nice, made sure to give an extra tip. Only thing was when she spilled my drink on me when she was giving us refills. She was really apologetic and offered some napkins to clean it up, which I could understand why she spilled it considering how busy it was in there. The waitress is the only reason why I'm giving any stars to this restaurant, other than the fact that you have to vote at least one star. Overall, service was outstanding, food wasn't the best, and the lines and wait times are horrific. Definitely recommend going to Ryan's across the street instead. read more
