21june2021 - Hadn't been to a Applebee's in years. Service was ok, nothing to complain about. Restaurant and restrooms clean. Bar area has several televisions and it's pretty spacious to enjoy some type of game or fight. We ordered from the kids menu for my niece. She chose the cheese macaroni with a side of broccoli. It was actually pretty good. My aunt and I ordered from their $7.99 hamburger menu. All of their different hamburgers are $7.99. Big plus! The burgers and fries were tasty. They were a little on the big side so we would've been better off splitting one. read more

I think the 2-25 options are really great and I could get full of the choices that are on that menu. Getting boneless wings or spinach dip as a starter is always a go for me and my boyfriend. The wings are filled with flavor and sometimes there's big chunks which is always a plus. The fiesta lime is a good entree to get if you're not sure especially with a side of loaded mash. Yum. Mondays are always a great day to come they have 8.99 burgers, especially for the specialty burgers like the whiskey bacon or quesadilla burger. They're both packed with so much flavor. I feel like like this Applebees is a great place to go and have fun with your friends on a Friday night. Super nice atmosphere and the servers are funny too. Came here for a quick dinner after work. Just as we got our food, and with several families also eating, the music changed to loud rap full of violence and profanity. When I told the waitress the music was inappropriate for children, she said it was a jukebox and they could not control what the customers played. They also had no info on the holiday specials. I came here after church with another family and can say that this was a pretty standard Applebee's experience! Our waiter was attentive and service was good overall! We all did the 2 for $20 deal which came with an appetizer and 2 entrees. There was a 2 for $25 or $29 deal which came with more "higher-tier" entrees. Other reviewers had complaints about the food and service but I didn't have any of that! Guess I came on a good day haha We got an assortment of appetizers: onion rings, spinach and artichoke dip, and boneless buffalo wings. Pretty standard food, no problems whatsoever! The baby back ribs were surprisingly good and tender. The garlic green beans and mac and cheese were also very good! I really liked that their mac and cheese was penne pasta and not your standard macaroni. I also tried some of the blackened salmon and steak from my family's dishes and it was also cooked very well and seasoned just perfectly! To be honest I love this place but what pisses me off the most is the slow service. It's not the bartenders fault but the servers. I saw a waitress in a Brady jersey on the phone for 30 fucken minutes. 30 minutes is a lot and no one did anything about it. She was just chilling at the front while others struggle. Not sure how I feel about Applebee's at this moment. Two friends got here before we did and we're sitting at a table waiting for us. Once we arrived they asked to be moved to be closer to the television to be able to watch the soccer game when we asked the waiter to move they seemed a bit upset about it( mind you we moved 2 tables down) we sat at a table that was in front of the tv and we were asked to move because someone was already supposed to sit there. ( someone who did not want to watch the game) so they asked us to move . ( I really enjoyed seeing the back cables and having to lean into my husband to be able to watch the game) we got our first drink order and then the waiter disappeared. We finished our first drink and still no waiter and no food order. ( 20mins still waiting) we finally get the attention of a waiter and his response of why we haven't gotten service is " this is not my area, the waitress that is supposed to be in this are does not want to come to these tables" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!! Not happy at all with the service. Let's see how the rest of the night goes. *****UPDATE******* Manager came over to speak to us and we let him know what was happening ( in a nice professional manner) manager apologized however managed to throw his employee under the bus( not right for a manager to do that) anyway, at the end of our night we asked for our bill and our meal was comp'ed. read more

I've been to this Applebee's several times and I've never recalled having bad food or bad service. Each time I've tried something new from their menu and I've always been pleased. Today I came because i brought my car to get washed next door. I'll admit this wasn't my first choice for a restaurant (because I was craving sushi) and i was considering getting a Lyft somewhere else but I'm glad I decided to just walk here. Only the ribs were good, otherwise don't come here for anything else. The pasta seems to be made of canned sauce and tastes like it was made a few weeks prior. The four cheese macaroni with the honey chicken tenders seemed to be made of only one cheese, that being one of questionable origins. Not to forget the fact that the sauce lacked flavor. Best Applebee's in the area for sure. The food is great, and the service can match it 9/10 times. We have regulars here that live next to the Palmhurst and Trenton Applebee's that STILL come here instead. When you walk in, request Alex, Isaac, Jeff, or Homer. The lot of us are straight determined to give you the best experience you've ever had at a restaurant. The beers are frosty and cheap, with half priced appetizers after 9! Ordered Heineken in a bottle. It was 40℉ at best. Then asked for a chilled glass. The bartender pulled it from a different cold box. Just as hot as the beer. I discussed this with the bartender, he said he has told the manager but doesn't get any response as to servicing the machines. He didn't even bother to call a manager over. The food was good but not great. My broccolis needed more steam time, they were too dry. Additionally, the service is super bad. Especially if you get served by Grey. You come, they sit you at a table and they forget about you. Even when they do decide to serve you, it takes the waiters forever to come back. The couple that were seated next to us left because no one came to serve them after waiting 25 minutes. They're lucky that we had patience but other than that, we wouldn't be returning. read more

Well this was the frist time me & my family we where going to go to olive graden but it was a Saturday and it was packed so we though it best to going somewhere new and that wasn't so packed and I must say that we where happy that we did so. The service was great very nice always makeing sure that we had or needed anything. The maneger also came around to ask if everthing was good that was a frist for us. We felt so comfortable there eating the atmosfear was just so inviteing. The food was great the drinks for me where great I like fruity drinks I really don't like tasting the liquer. My children loved there mini burgers and fries they down everything and my duagther is a hard child to get to eat but I didn't have to nag her to eat so that was nice for me. Went for dinner here yesterday (6/14/17) while my vehicle was getting washed next door. My waiter may have been new because he couldn't get my order straight. Asked me three times to verify my order. Not a biggie!! They didn't have what I initially wanted which annoyed me a little! Again not a biggie. When I received my meal, my grilled veggies were missing!! My steak was not grilled the way I ordered it. I had finished half my meal by the time my "Grilled Veggies" were delivered! They were more like "Mushed Veggies" instead of "Grilled." I went to Applebee's on N. 10th St. in McAllen and ordered a hamburger with onion rings on it. When I got the burger, it didn't have the onion rings on it. So I complained to the manager. So she brings me a plate of fried onion rings. Don't go to Applebee's. The service sucks, and they show no compassion for customers, and they have no customer service skills. Plus, the food sucks, and is too expensive. Don't waste your time. Bad place to go eat. read more

It's just ok. The chicken was pretty tender and my server was attentive. But it looked dingy inside and like some of the decor was torn from the walls leaving holes and ripped walls behind. They have quite a few low-priced dishes and 2 for $20 options. read more

Terrible experience! Applebee's used to be a place where not only good food was served but the service was also something to look for. Last Wednesday I went to this location, the bartender asked for my ID, no problem with that, however she studied my ID as if she worked for the FBI, at a point I thought she might need my birth certificate, ridiculous. After this I ordered a "Guinness" beer, this she served it to me from a can which she really did not know how to pour it in the glass for she could not pour it all in the glass due to the cream of the mentioned beer, showing ZERO skills as a bartender. She was very rude and I gave her the feeling that because of this she could not expect a tip and so the service got even worse, so I finished my beer and left. This last time the food was mediocre at best but what sealed the deal for me not going back was the bathroom. They are disgusting. Just had dinner at 10st Applebee's service was very slow. I ordered something new on the menu butcher choice. It said there was a 6 oz choice sirloin but when it came it was 8 nickel sized pieces of meat. All I can say is "Where's the Beef". I also ordered a jack Daniels lemonade when it arrived it was in a small glass. I asked the waiter to look at the photo on the menu it show a tall glass. They took it back added some lemonade and thru it in a tall glass. Wow, it was $7.49 that wasn't anywhere on the menu. I did complain to the manager and showed him the small pieces of beef on the order. His response was that's how it's supposed to be served. The menu say 6 oz it might have be 2. My daughter and I like to eat here and have their Asian tacos. Sometimes there is a long wait, but I like the food.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! My husband ordered RIB Basket, the RIBS were charcoal burned so he returned them and they brought new ribs and there just as burned as the previous ones. We asked to speak to the manager and manager CARLOS DE LA FUENTE started arguing with my husband that the Charcoal burned ribs were perfectly fine that he ate them in the back and said that nothing was wrong with ribs. He raised his voice and said that if we didn't like it go eat at another restaurant!! I interrupted him and told him that first of all he should never argue with a customer. He became even more angry and made a foul of himself and started yelling in front of all the other customers. My husband asked for the corporate number and name, he gave us the name and number of the person we needed to contact and with a sarcastic smile face said that his corporate office told him that he could handle situations in that manner. This guy is pathetic. He's in the wrong business if he thinks he can speak to customers in that manner and tone of voice. I don't know which one was worst the burned ribs or his attitude. Attention Restaurants out there do not hire this guy because after this complaint he's probably going to get fired!! He will give a bad name to your restaurant!! read more
