Rice "pilaf"

Only 1 star because I can't put 0 stars. Ordered the southwest chicken with salad bar, garlic potatoes (which was actually a twice baked potato) and veggies. Family ordered tasteless rice pilaf. Flies all over the salad buffet, chicken very dry with no salt (only strong spice rub), twice baked garlic potato was baked a lot more than 2 times because it was very dried out, rice pilaf was basic white rice with no flavor, definitely not rice pilaf. Never again. Edit: manager was sincerely apologetic about the entire experience.

Baked potato.

Good service. All you can eat salad bar and mushrooms. The baked potato and mushrooms are huge. Looking forward to sals bar. Crab legs looked good.

6 oz Steak with Garlic Potatoes

We were really excited to check out this restaurant, but ended up having mixed feelings about the service and the food.. First for the service, while we didn't have a reservation, we were told we would be called in 15 minutes so we waited around near the bar, as they told us to wait there..they never came to get us so we checked in multiple times with the hostess and were finally seated after almost an hour of waiting.. As for the food, it was alright..a bit overpriced because you are more so paying for the atmosphere. The steak was a little dry and had minimal seasoning..the garlic potato was good though!

Dirty bathroom with a hair net from staff on hand towel dispenser

Terrible! Went with our family and two of the meals had hairs in them, my rice had a long white string in it, chicken and burgers were all over cooked, and they don't de-vein the shrimp! Server was nice, as was the manager. But it took a VERY long time for them to decide how to handle it- they removed some of the items from our bill. The bathrooms were disgusting, couldn't even change the baby in there, too nasty, in the men's- hair net sitting out, and just very dirty conditions. Very disappointed- it's such a great location with a gorgeous view!

Buffet

The food is awful and cold! The wait staff and buffet servers do not speak any English at all! They guard the food at the buffet and serve it to you bits at a time, like they're afraid you're going to get some! Then when you do get some, you certainly don't go back for more because it's inedible! Seriously we paid for nothing! $75 for 2 ppl. We hated every bit of it! Its that bad! The place is filthy dirty and old as can be. I have photos this place needs some serious help.

Outdoor seating to catch the sunset
Amy D.

You come here for two things and two things only.... All you can eat crab legs and the sunset views. The buffet food isn't the best. We keep coming back when we crave crab legs. The servers always come to our tables to pick up our dirty plates filled with empty crab leg shells. The indoor section always feels a little cramped. However they do offer plenty of outdoor seating.

My fillet was amazing cooked just like I like it, with this huge baked potato and fresh salad bar was included! Happy hour margarita wasn't the best but for $4 bucks what can you expect. Services was kind and my food came out quickly. The outside seating was amazing also! I'm shall return

Hungry for seafood? All you can eat seems to be the winner here! $35 scallops, shrimp crab boil, filet mignon too. Salmon was my winner winner. Cooked perfect. Blackened. Be Hungry! Worth it

Cheers.

Food was wonderful. Love the view of the bay. We go every summer. They have a great buffet.

It's a staple on the island, but rest its reputation on the previous owner. There needs to be more accountability.

Ask the Community - Louie's Backyard

Are kids allowed?

Yes!. At least outside dining. I don't know about upstairs at the sports bar and for fine dining. Haven't seen any up there.

Is it 18+ for the nightclub or 21?

It's a full service restaurant.

Are dog Pets allowed?

Sorry to say, no they don't. Unless they're a service dog

How much is the buffet?

If I remember right it was $25 per person, but normal dishes were $18-$30 a piece, so in my opinion it was totally worth it. Could have a variety at the one price.

Is the buffet available on weekends?

Yes, it is available every day.

Is this a great place to have a dinner after a wedding for 50 guests? Family friendly? Half of my guests are children under 12 😬

Yes! Absolutely. Just call ahead give them a heads up. Or reservations. Very kid friendly and on the bay so great view.

Is there a cover charge?

no cover unless they have a special band coming

Hook & cook, $11.99/person -- they'll cook all your fish however you want it, and it comes with sides, sauces, and a drink. I asked for tortillas on the side so we could make fish tacos. Good value, and the food they cooked for us was solid all around. We had a mix of sides -- french fries, onion rings, rice, beans, and fried okra -- all pretty good. On the fish prep: the fried was probably the best, the grilled was fine, and the blackened was my least favorite. Service was really efficient and nice -- the lady working the front counter was super helpful and very nice. The place was clean, the restroom was clean, plenty of tables for large groups, and a large bar area. I also noticed they have happy hour specials. The one downside: the salsa/sauce selection was pretty much nonexistent -- just Tapatío, and the sauces that came with the hook-and-cook were a low-end cocktail and tartar sauce. Honestly that's the one thing about the whole island -- nobody seems to have any good salsa. In general, if you're doing a hook-and-cook, I'd suggest coming here. Would recommend for that, and I'd return if I were doing it again.

Wanted to really like this place, but it didn't go well unfortunately…read more Menu has a lot to offer and some of their prices are a little steep. Browsed the menu & ended up just getting their "tossed salad". I asked what was on it which was; sliced tomato, shredded carrot, red onion & cucumber. Opted out of the cucumber & requested two blue cheese dressings. My husband ordered their cheeseburger dressed with pepper jack cheese. My salad arrived fairly quickly & it was on a flat plate with a weak portion for $7.75. The two dressings were in taco cups over flowing with a hefty amount of fresh blue cheese crumbles packed on top. Super disappointed with not only the presentation, the cost & never being asked if I wanted my salad prior or when my husband received his meal. I ended up pushing it to the side & was waiting for our waitress to return to not only ask if my husband would like another beer, but to also provide the option of not eating that ridiculous amount of rabbit food-getting a refund OR to bring out more lettuce & ask to please just bring out standard blue cheese dressing without the added amount of crumbled cheese. We don't see our server for sometime, so I went to the hostess asking if she were also the manager which she stated she wasn't & that they were at the bar. That's when our server came up behind me & asked if there was a problem. I explained the situation to her, then she tells me that this dressing is always served this way and that, that is what blue cheese dressing is! She seemed confused about the crumbles & was almost trying to mock me. I've worked in the food industry & know how these product come into the restaurants. Blue cheese dressing does have blue cheese "chucks" within the original recipe. If you are doing things differently then that, it should stand out more on their menu as "homemade" and again expressed by the server, but she made it as if I were just suppose to know their process. It's salad dressing, it shouldn't be this difficult! LOL After this fiasco, they brought more salad and a watered down milky dressing that had zero flavor and zero cheese along with sliced cucumber?! The consistency was like milk. It was running, bland, NO blended cheese in the base-it definitely wasn't blue cheese dressing! WT?! This ALL transpired while my husband was still waiting on his burger & fries . About another 15 minutes goes by, I finally had to just start in on the bland salad. My husband's beer still sat empty & was never told when his burger would be served the few times are server swung by regarding my order issues. 20 minutes later, she comes by again & he was asked if it was cheddar cheese & he said, "no it was pepper jack". A total of 30 minutes he waited for a very rare burger, cold fries & FINALLY another beer! Terrible service and food wasn't very good either.

I gave it 2 stars several years ago because the service wasn't the greatest - far from it - and it was fairly quiet that night. Isn't it often that way? I went back to Kelly's Irish Pub because I believe it was more about the server and bartender that evening than it was about their regular modus operandi. I ordered the shepherd's pie and it was actually fairly decent. The service was definitely much better on this last go round. When on SPI, I usually don't return to places more than once during a stay unless I find it exceptional, it's a coffeehouse, or it's Whataburger with its great hours. However, one day I had planned to get lunch at another small eatery and it was easy to see that they were full and I'd have to wait a while. Having seen the daily specials at Kelly's, I went back for one of them. I got the fish and chips lunch platter and it was very good, not to mention a respectable value. The interior delivers with its thematic busy collection of Irish paraphernalia and its feeling of being like an old shoe. The customers seemed to be in a good mood. That could also in part be attributable to the service I encountered. Kelly's Irish Pub on SPI handily moves from 2 to 4 stars for providing a good mix of food, service, value, and atmosphere on two visits within a week. I really like their slate of lunch specials and, befitting a casual neighborhood sort of place, their friendliness is appreciated.

Our waitress, Marlene, was fabulous. She was attentive and friendly. For our entrees, we ordered the Filet Mignon and the Smoked Duck Breast. The filet was incredibly tender and flavorful, which isn't always easy to achieve with such a lean cut of meat. The beef jus paired perfectly with it. The duck breast was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight of the night, however, was the Key Lime Soufflé. This was easily one of the best desserts I've ever had. The balance of flavors was perfect. Not too sweet, not too tart, just the right amount of key lime. The soufflé itself was also baked perfectly. Every course was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the entire meal felt incredible from beginning to end. Hustle is her middle name... thank you ma'am, you made the evening! The menu was a chef's selection 4 course menu, with options for each course. We opted for the wine pairings with each course. The restaurant was decked out with New Year's regalia... with balloons, hats, noise makers, at every table... really fun atmosphere! All the staff were decked out fancy, looked great! For our first course, we selected lobster bisque mushroom soup. The mushroom soup was divine, absolutely fabulous. The lobster bisque was sub-par... while plentiful, the lobster was not fresh, tasted very fishy. The second course of the seafood medley and venison bites was equally Jekyll and Hyde! Venison, superb, tender, cooked perfectly, tasted great. The seafood medley, all super fishy ... not fresh! Crab claws mushy too, obviously frozen prior. Oysters pitifully small and warm. Shrimp, while cold, were very fishy and mushy, as if previously frozen. No bueno! Our third course was the surf/turf and Akashi short rib ragout. The turf was awesome, best steak we've had in years! The lobster ... pitiful, small, overcooked, tough and fishy! Disgusting! The ragout was good, but we're not sure why chef's make beef dishes sweet ... good beef stands on its own, no need to over season! Not a well conceived dish... Our final course was the chocolate soufflé and lemon cake ... both were terrific! The soufflé with Chantilly cream and whipped cream was very good. The star dessert was the lemon cake with fresh fruit! Light and airy cake, the fruit was to die for. Delicious! The wind pairings were good, although some of the selections were "tired" favs, like "The Prisoner"... IMHO. Such a good wine list at F&B, the pairings were disappointing! The staff whisked away a 1/2 finished pre-dinner martini, which Marlene graciously replaced! When you spend $500+ on dinner for two, even a special evening, the restaurant should deliver. F&B did not meet the standard on New Year's Eve. We won't be back this trip..,
