The atmosphere was decent and typical of the chain, but the experience overall felt a little underwhelming. Service was ok. My server looks as if she hasn't slept in days and seemed to be dragging herself. I was looking forward to having a least 1 drink but was told the bar was closed and it was only around 10:30PM which was disappointing One thing Applebee's does well is variety and affordability. They've got a big menu and deals like all-you-can-eat wings or combo specials, which is nice if you're on a budget. Extremely concerning experience. While eating our food, I found a sharp piece of metal/wire in it. Thankfully I noticed it instead of swallowing it, because this could have caused a serious injury. I took photos immediately, which I've attached to this review. Finding a foreign metal object in food is completely unacceptable and raises major concerns for me about food preparation and quality control. In what world is it acceptable to threaten a 55-year-old man over a food order? Earlier today, my father went to pick up food that was already prepared. The manager even told an employee to hand my father his order first since he arrived before others, but instead the employee ignored him and helped everyone else while the food sat there getting cold for 15-20 minutes. Fed up, my father left and went to his car. The same employee then followed him outside, started yelling, and threatened him after my father told him to just keep the food. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. If I could give negative stars, I would. Save yourself the headache and eat somewhere else. read more

My friend and I had a wonderful dinner at the Newton Applebees recently. Our server was great, the restaurant, table, seats, everything was spotless. It was the greeter who really got our attention. He opened the door for us with a huge smile, and welcomed us in, like it was his own home. He was very friendly, chatting a little bit as he seated us. When we got up to leave he wasn't by the door, but in the adjacent isle. When He saw us heading toward the door he raced to get in front of us so he could open the door for us, then preceded to open the outside door as well. Again smiling, wishing us a fantastic evening. The food was bad. I ordered a kid's sized chicken Alfredo with a side of broccoli. It looked like noodles with canned chicken. There was no taste whatsoever. The drink was also watered down.I ordered curbside but ended up going in after it was well past the pick up time. The staff was friendly. When I inquired about why no one was available to come out, she said they weren't allowed to after 8:00pm. I understand this but it would be nice to know before placing a curbside order. A party of 4 we decided to try this location l after 10pm for the half price appetizer specials. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman who asked us how many was in our party. After we told him he said the host will be right with us. I'm not sure why he asked if someone else was going to come but she did and asked us how many in our party and sat us immediately. She recommended the tacos, we also had the honey bbq boneless wings, chicken quesadillas and Tipsy Reindeer made with Smirnoff Vodka. Dominique definitely saved the night with her quick and efficient service. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. I didn't care for the drink it was weak and a bit tart. I wanted the happy hour drinks but because the bartender ( Bre ) was in the back the whole time i missed it because i waiting . she told my drink order and told me give her a min .. a min turned into 15 mins of waiting then when she was supposed to be making the drink she walked off again .so I left ... This Applebees is the best one I been to by far. The hostess sat us quick. Our waitress Bobbi J. was so attentive. Came by frequent. Treated us with respect. My drink was always full. I didn't have to ask for another. That usually makes me happy. My kids ordered chicken tenders. They were happy. I ordered lunch special French onion soup and chicken Caesar salad. It filled me up. This AppleBees isn't horrible but its not great either. Our waiter was in training and made us nervous because he was so nervous. The woman training him was like a hawk,which didn't help the tension. We ordered the three cheese cavatapi with chicken, pretzel sticks, wonton tacos and siracha shrimp. The shrimp usually comes "smothered " in a siracha mayo. it was lacking the sauce and instead was heavily coated in this weird cajun seasoning. it was complete overkill and the spices tasted raw. The pasta was in need of more cheese sauce, but the wonton tacos and pretzel sticks were good. The staff was friendly, yet hesitant to accomodate us with a booth.
