I had asked for the bourbon Swiss burger to be cut down the middle, but my request was ignored by my waitress but she told me "it would be easier to do yourself". That burger was also incredibly salty and the fries cold. Was also charged extra .50¢ for honey mustard. Spinach and artichoke dip didn't hit like it used to, coming in a tiny ramekin instead of a larger bowl like it used to. The bacon bacon burger was ok but spicy and too salty. Fries were also spicy and over salted. my wife got the fish and could not eat it. The fish was mushy, overcooked and had a bad fish taste. The meat was about half the size of the bread it was in. She didn't finish it. The service was great even though they sat us at a table that was wet and sticky. The waitress was wonderful. The price of the food is comparable to other like restaurants. We don't eat out much anymore because of the prices and being retired on a fixed income, so this outing was a complete bust. After seeing the reviews on this place, and the fact that all of the bad ones were super old, I had to give this place a try. First of all, the food? Delicious. The drinks? Strong. Our waitress was so friendly and accommodating. We didn't wait long for our food, especially for a Saturday night! Its looking run down and tired inside. It needs refurbishment badly. The booth seating is a good indication of this. It looks comfortable when you look at it but after sitting down the foam gives no support and you realize your sitting on 2x4's with a thin layer of vinyl in between. The carpet looks stained old and tired and the bar stools have seen better days. Even the door signage looks faded and peeled. It's not very big, a sure sign of age. Time for corporate to reinvest in Oak Ridge. We deserve better than this. read more

Normally I love Applebees. And eat there frequently. However, three of us got a to go order, bourbon chicken and shrimp, bourbon steak, and a 12 oz steak. The mashed potatoes taste like spoiled milk, the broccoli had not even been steamed, and the chicken was hard as a rock. Not to mention I only received 3 very small pieces of shrimp. This is not common with Applebees. I understand Fridays are a little rougher than normal. With me spending $70 bucks on food that had to be thrown away, leaves to believe I will not eat at this location again. read more

I've always liked Applebees. Seems they are one of the most consistent of the major chains. On this last visit I was seated quickly, and the staff was very polite, professional and kept checking on me. They got my food out quick and made sure I had plenty of drink. They food was decent. Okay, I am going to against the grain here. Contrary to the low score we just had lunch here and it was very good! At the moment Applebees has BOGO on a few select items for $12.49. You can choose from a salad, chicken tenders, a pasta dish and a couple of other items. My hubby had the chicken tenders and I had the fiesta lime chicken and rice. The portions were definitely good sized for lunch and both meals were very tasty, although my hubby's tenders were breaded just a little too much for him but he did say he enjoyed them. I was quite impressed with the people skills of my most recent waitress here. When the kitchen screws up the front-of-the-house staff do work diligently to correct food order errors expeditiously and discreetly. One can expect courteous customer service here. I typically review once I get my food, but the service here has been *so terrible* that I just have to comment now. Please note, this review is in regards to only one server- Casey and his pathetic attempt at a 'man-bun' with his hair that looks as though it has been submerged in the deep fryer (hygiene is important when people are handling your food). He completely forgot we were sitting at this booth as he joked and laughed with other tables surrounding us, taking the orders of people who came in well after we did, and flirting with the high school girls sitting behind us. Even the two hostesses saw what was going on but offered no assistance. Maybe being a server just isn't where you belong, man. 30 minutes later- Update: Guess what. Casey forgot my order, so the other three people in my party are currently eating as I sit here and type this. But the manager said the kitchen dropped it after the server said he forgot to ring it in. I guess my missing steak will forever remain a mystery. Oh, and their steaks were cooked to the wrong temp.... ....really wish I could rate this experience lower than 1 star. 10 minutes later- Update: Mine just arrived and it was the wrong temperature.
