Dive local place. Serves only beer, but at a decent price and reasonable selection. Low key crowd.

It was loaded with thick bacon and multiple slices of tomatoes. Dan got a salad with chicken. He commented that he couldn't find any chicken in it, so our daughter gave him one of her wings. Our daughter commented that her order of wings came with only 3 small sticks of celery and no carrots. Our check with tip came to $65. We could have gotten a much better lunch for that price.

We were fortunate to find the one table that was open and got seated fairly quickly. There were TVs showing the game everywhere, so every seat offered a good view. However, if sports aren't your thing and you're hoping for a nice, quiet dinner where you can chat, it's best to check the sports schedule and skip this spot. It was difficult to hold a conversation with all the fans and their emotional outbursts. LOL. The service was slow but friendly whenever a server came around. The food was pretty good. We started with Gene's Wings, accompanied by traditional hot sauce and Thai garlic sauce. The wings were tasty but quite small, so if you're hungry, don't just order six. The hot sauce was as expected and delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the Thai sauce. I'll skip that one next time. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, while my partner chose the Chicken Pot Pie. The burger was decent but not remarkable. I often know a burger will be average when they don't ask how I want it cooked--it's usually just smashed and well done. On the other hand, the pot pie was excellent and a generous portion. The crust wasn't overly sweet, and my partner, who is quite particular about pot pies, really enjoyed it. Overall, it was a good experience, and we'd consider coming back if we're in the area.

The cheese sauce was nice and the pretzel bites were just the right size and salted like they should be. Jill was the bright spot of eating here. She was prompt, very funny, and sincere. It's nice to see someone with such a nice work ethic. For lunch, John had a chili-cheese dog and Nashville Heat wings. I ordered the Buffalo Mac & Cheese. Both of us were happy with lunch. The serving sizes are large, so come hungry. We will definitely come back here. Thanks, Victory Bar for the nice lunch!

Both things had no flavor though. Even with an herb butter, there was no flavor. Disappointing. The mac n cheese was the weirdest I have ever seen and my husband tasted it and then would not eat it. He said it was nasty. The cheese fries were ok. They usually come with a cheese sauce, but we asked for melted shredded cheese instead. They forgot to put the bacon on them. They were ok. My husband said his chicken teriyaki bowl was really good and it was huge. I think they probably do some things really well and some need some work. If I lived nearby I would eat here again to try other things.

Aubrey's is almost always packed, which makes it seem like a standout spot in our small town. After…read morevisiting a few times, though, I've found it to be... pretty average. They do offer outdoor seating, which is nice, although I'm not sure yet if it's dog-friendly--something I'll have to check out next time. We usually sit at the bar, and one thing I've learned is that you need to be very specific with your drink order if you have preferences. For example, if you order a dirty martini without clarification, be prepared for a glass that tastes almost entirely like olive brine. Asking for "light" on the olive juice is a must. Even a standard vodka martini doesn't automatically come with a lemon twist, which feels like a small but noticeable miss. Service has consistently been solid--friendly and attentive, about what you'd expect. The food, however, has been hit or miss. I tried the FGTs twice, hoping the first experience was just an off night, but they still weren't memorable enough to order again. The steak tips appetizer has been the one standout for us--really flavorful--but if you're planning on ordering a steak entrée, doubling up on steak feels a bit redundant. The salads that come with the meals are reliably good, and the steaks themselves are decent, especially with the loaded baked potato on the side. That said, I ordered a fish dish on one visit that was forgettable enough that I can't even recall exactly what it was--just that I wouldn't order it again. Overall, Aubrey's is perfectly fine, but it hasn't wowed me. At this price point, I think there are better options around town. We might stop back in from time to time if we're in the mood for something different.
