I don't like writing "bad" reviews especially when it involves one of my favorite places to eat, around. but. I waited in curb side pickup for 20 minutes. I understand that at times, it's rush hour... but that wasn't the case here. I feel like at least someone should be checking for those who ordered for pickup specifically. Lunch, a disaster. We ate in the bar. The waitress did not write our order down, that's were it all started. She came back after about 10 minutes and asked what we ordered. My husband ordered fajita burger with mashed potatoes and chicken fajita soup. He got French fries and about a 1/4 c of soup with a heap of tortilla chips. I ordered the same soup with 1/4c being served! I ordered a Cesar salad and got a grilled chicken Cesar salad. I do not like hot meat in my salad and it was not what I ordered. Hostess, set us in booth which we asked, but was center booth so I like the back booths away from most people so I ask to sit there, restaurant is empty mostly. Both has pictures of local high school girls playing volleyball, not sure what that has to do, but I feel it's maybe a play on the we're all family theme. The very next guest the hostess puts right next to us. WTF. 4 top with thankfully a quiet baby. Started with the multi-platter, average bar food at best, the quesadilla wasn't half bad, breadsticks, dip, and wings just ok. Our server was being shadowed by someone, and they were both very polite. Waitresses get 5 stars. Hostess 1 Star. Manager stopped by to check on us. Star. Main course. Worth a star. The bowl was excellent my date got the strawberry salad also excellent. I drink an Arnold Palmer, they automatically put a lemon on the side, I don't like fruit on the side, to many germs in restaurant. You got at least three people probably handled that fruit. Everything else was closed at 11:00pm. This is a really good Applebees. I'm not a fan of this chain but I have to admit that this location was pretty darn good. The waitress was straight up with us about what was freshest. The bkneless ribs in honey barbeque sauce were spot on. I had half rack of ribs. The brocvoli must have been local because it definitely didn't taste trucked in or frozen. The rice was bland and blah. I should have chosen potatoes. All over MI we had great potatoes. My son had lime chicken and said it was great st least a half dozen times. Service was fast and friendly despite us being one of the last customers. First off this is coming from a customer AND DoorDasher. The manager told another dasher that had been waiting almost an hour and wanted to know what the hold up was "I don't want your kind in the restaurant, you guys have stained shirts, smell like weed and cigarettes and are fat". I myself have had 45 minute waits there for small pay so, yeah, it does get irritating. To degrade and insult dozens and dozens of hometown delivery drivers AND customers, as I am... This is unacceptable. I will not be delivering for them anymore as well as others and I hope the word gets around to other dashers to take this seriously. Keep in mind you have to go IN the restaurant to get the delivery. Nice, solid Applebee's dinner while we were in town visiting family. They have something for everyone so it was the right place for us. We liked their 2 for $25 deal (or they have a 2 for $20 with different options), which includes an appetizer, two entrees from a set menu. We ordered the boneless wings for an appetizer and there were a million options for sauces but we did the regular and blue cheese dipping sauce - they were good little nuggets of breaded, fried chicken doused in sauce like you expect - yum. We wish the blue cheese dressing was more blue-cheesy, is all. For our entrees, I ordered a steak and my husband got the ribs. We both liked our dinners - tasty food with big portions and nice side dishes. Predictable and nothing fancy but sometimes that's exactly what you want. There are lots of upgrades (with additional cost) that they throw out at you while you're ordering (loaded mashed potatoes instead of just regular, etc.) Very clean restaurant, lively with lots of screens to watch whatever sport you're interested in. Great service from the greeter holding the door open to our server to the manager walking around checking on everyone - even another server stopped by to talk to us about our kids and was super friendly. Our waitress was training a new server and even so, she never missed a beat. Food came quickly, plastic cups for our kids, quick with the check and no problems splitting it. They're on it. This was terrible, I fully understand being understaffed and don't care how long it takes if the food is correct, but this was nothing but poor. $13 for a grilled chicken ceases salad we asked for as an appetizer, ordered a sample and soup for my meal and my husband ordered a burger. The salad and burger came out only and the Classic bacon cheeseburger had no bacon or cheese. The salad had maybe a spoonful of cheese and wasn't worth $13!! Never Again - We used to LOVE Applebees but the last couple times the service has been iffy at best. Today I have 6 kids dressed to the 9s heading to Prom - I drop them at the door planning to hide out on the bar side while they have dinner. Walk in 10min later to find out they put all 6 young adults (15) at a high top in the bar. Girls dressed in high heels and long dresses and guys in fulls suits smashed at a high table in the bar. After a long day of travel we lodged in Sault Ste. Marie and the Applebee's was just across the street. Their new menu is quite impressive. I had the salmon and skewer shrimp with coleslaw and grilled veggies. My wife went for the baby back ribs and also the shrimp, green beans and broccoli. Nice portions and nicely cooked. We shared a "blondie with pecans, vanilla ice cream and cream cheese sauce. Really tasty. Our server, Thea, was very friendly and attentive, even though it was quite busy. Seems simple to me but the crap shoot that is dining out in Sault Sainte Marie gets tiresome. It came with 2 small strips of bacon, and an assurance that the rest of the bacon was mixed in somewhere in the meat. Well, I was a little disappointed to say the least, so was my hubby. Not that I want my arteries to clog, but when I want bacon, I want bacon... the fries were good, just given a small amount, could have been warmer, and the presentation of the meal was lackluster at best. I enjoy their food as it tastes very good, however if you are on a diet or want to be healthy in general stand clear of this calorie bazooka. Most of the salads and the sauces are loaded with extra calories. And most of the pasta is per-frozen so if your looking for fresh anything, your in the wrong place. Excellent service! The wait staff is very polite and considerate. They even offered up extra food for their very small mess ups that weren't even close to bad in the first place. The atmosphere is very comfortable and sometimes I forget I'm even in public when I'm here since it's so comfortable. The food comes out hot and they even remove things from foods if you have lactose intolerance or other allergies to food. The staff was paying so much attention we barely had to use the tablet on the table to call them. read more

Went late night before Labor Day and before wanting to walk the bridge with my mom and some friends. My mother was served spoiled tomato basil soup that made her ill immediately. Arrived at lunch time (noon) and it was busy but still places to sit. We were meeting friends to celebrate a belated birthday lunch. Wedge salad was great and I got my friend to try the wonton tacos.
