The Manager on Duty (Gilbert) was TERRIBLE and clearly did not have the well-being of the restaurant in mind. I gave a 4star review because the bartender (Briana) was fantastic. She kept her cool under pressure as it was very busy at closing time with a rowdy crowd. She continued to answer the phone, properly jiggered all drinks and interacted with her guests while keeping up! Meanwhile, manager Amy, hopped behind the bar and assisted by washing dishes and interacting as well. Several servers and Gilbert passed the bar, seated guests at the bar and watched the bar all while leaving dirty plates piled 4high and even added to the pile. The kicker, he instructed Briana to start doing last call at 9:30 moving forward so people stop drinking and leave earlier. (As a regional restaurant operations manager I'm confused as to why he would not want the restaurant to make more money!) May 6th dinner at Applebee's was disappointing, to say the least. I honestly don't even know where to begin. First, the entire beer tap system was down. They only had a few bottled beers available in the cooler, and they were not common choices most people would order. I had specifically planned to relax, enjoy dinner, and have a few cold beers, so that was frustrating right from the start. The bartop itself appeared clean, but behind the bar was another story. The shelf where the mixer cups are stored looked dirty, and the stainless steel surfaces behind the bar clearly had not been cleaned or maintained properly. Considering how slow the restaurant was on a Wednesday evening, there really was no excuse for the lack of cleanliness and presentation. In my opinion, management is clearly lacking and does not seem to care about the appearance of the restaurant. There were dirty glasses sitting in the sink waiting to be washed, and the overall atmosphere just felt neglected. The food only made things worse. My mozzarella sticks came out cold, while the marinara sauce was scorching hot, like it had been overheated in the microwave. It honestly felt like the sauce was expected to warm the mozzarella sticks back up. My fries were also completely cold with no heat whatsoever. The burger itself was actually good, but by that point the overall experience had already ruined the meal. One interaction with the staff also rubbed me the wrong way. Someone brought my burger from behind the bar, and when I politely asked for ketchup and mustard, he repeated my request back sarcastically and pointed me toward the bartender, saying she would get it for me. What makes this even more disappointing is that I was genuinely excited to find an Applebee's nearby. I even changed my hotel reservation to stay next door because I was looking forward to having a good meal and relaxing for the evening. Instead, the entire experience was terrible. Applebee's should be ashamed of the condition and management of this location. I honestly believe if the franchise owners walked in unannounced, there would be new management immediately. read more

We were excited to eat at Applebees because there's not one close to our house. We waited 30 min for the chips and salsa and then another 20 min for our food. Food was like warm at best, maybe 5 couples in there. It was a very disappointing experience because Applebees is usually a lot better with their service and food. After driving 8 hours from Des Moines and reaching our hotel we saw Applebees behind it and were excited . The people at the hotel suggested DONT , and man they were right. They hand you a menu with drink specials : oh sorry we don't have them You ask for a beer (Stella Artois ) and it's flat, and clearly not draft like we asked All you can eat? They will forget your fries and then argue with you. So you just try to be nice and say "let's just change it to the appetizer " and then the food is cold anyway Thank god the manager had the brains to 86 comp the meal, because we didn't even eat it. They had run out of beer, and our food was likely sitting under a heat lamp for a half hour before finally bringing it out. It was dried out and borderline inedible. My wife and I stayed for the night at Cabela's RV park. Not sure where to go, we decided to visit Applebee's as it's normally fairly solid. Must say this was a disappointment. We ordered a draft beer, draft system is down. I ordered a Manhattan, no sweet vermouth. I ordered an IPA bottle, out. We played TouchTunes, my wife spent four credits at least only to find out there was no sound was out. Why have the system plugged in and registering on the network if it's not working? Our food was not too bad, and the bartender made a good whiskey sour. Those two items are the only reason it's three stars instead of one. read more

They brought a salad out with no strawberries and said nothing. When we brought it to their attention they just said" we ran out of strawberries so we gave you that" when I suggested they should of asked what else we may have wanted the waiter just walked away. If you are smart you will stay away from this restaurant. Our experience was on 2/24/26. After 15 minutes of not being noticed at the "wait here to be seated" sign, we decided to go into the bar. Sat down and after about 10 minutes of being ignored, my wife got up and chased down two menus. Another 5 minutes and finally someone came over to ask us what we wanted to drink. Bailey was our server tonight, she did her best. This place is constantly understaffed. I ordered a ribeye, medium rare with broccoli and mashed potatoes, after waiting 30+ minutes for our food I received a very well done, hard as a rock steak, the plate was a thousand degrees due to sitting under a heat lamp for way too long! The broccoli was chopped broccoli(something you use in soup, it was frozen broccoli as well). The mashed potatoes were the best prepared item out of both me and my mom's dishes. I also ordered French onion soup, there was hardly any liquid in this soup, once again most likely sat under a heat lamp for way too long. My mom ordered bourbon chicken with sausage pasta, it was pretty tasty but like my food it sat under a heat lamp for way too long as it was very dry and the chicken was like rubber! The one thing Bailey did wrong in my eyes was asking me if I wanted a discount for my messed up food order, this should have been applied without asking, also I did not receive the discount, I paid full price because I did not want to wait for management for 30 minutes. Terrible experience, I ordered the steak dinner and the lime chicken dinner. The steak I ordered medium rare was cooked to a piece of leather, the broccoli was about two bites at best, steak was nowhere's near an 8 oz. The chicken was so cold the cheese on top didn't begin to melt. The rice pilaf was dried up like it wasn't cooked at all, very hard. Clearly there is nobody managing the kitchen . It has been awhile since we ate at Applebee's and I am disappointed w the quality of their food & the service. They ran out of broccoli & substituted tasteless green beans. The top sirloin was very chewy & grizzly. Our 8 ounce steak turned out to be 6 ounces because of the grizzle. After waiting 15 minutes after we were seated when no one came the bus boy acknowledged us and brought us our drink order. Our 8 ounce glass of wine was definitely on the short end. We decided to have dinner at Applebee's last night. I had the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo and it was fabulous. I'm eating the leftovers for lunch today. Husband ate a whiskey burger and fries. I stayed at the Hampton Inn next door and needed a place to grab a bite. I walked over to this Applebees for a relatively forgettable experience. The wait was long, the place could have been much cleaner, the staff seemed to all be hanging out together and ignoring patrons, the tables were not being bussed and were filled with dirty dishes from previous customers. When the food did come it was ok. I think many people were here to get drunk on the $1 margarita sale, but as watered down as they were you'd be spending lots of George Washingtons just to get a buzz on. read more

The main section of the restaurant is open with high ceilings, much different than other Applebee's I have been to! Our food was tasty, the drinks were good and the service was very fast. Please note that this review is for a Curbside To Go experience. I placed an order for a chicken wrap and mozzarella sticks at 7pm for a pick up time of 8pm and paid online by credit card. As I pulled in at 7:55 pm the car next to me was speaking to the manager Gilbert and wanting a refund because they had been waiting far too long for the food that they had already paid for by credit card online. He told them that he would refund the charge but it would take around 3 days they were not happy but left. I asked him if I would also have a long wait (considering that I ordered my food an hour ago) and was told that they only had 1 cook (on a Saturday evening) and he would check on my order and give me an update. 15 or so minutes later I had not seen or heard anything so I went inside to check. The bartender attempted to contact the manager via headset and was unable to do so for about 5 minutes. When he finally came out I requested a refund and was told that my order was ready and he just needed to bag it up. 5 minutes later he brought me the wrong order. Another 3-4 minutes passed before he finally delivered my food. Several couples at the bar claimed to have been waiting for over an hour for their food also. We visited this place after an 11 hour drive to be left waiting for 15 mins. Even after 15 mins the waitress bypassed us multiple times but didn't care to take our order. The Manager was incompetent and didnt bother to ask or inquire about our order and at times danced in and out of the kitchen.
