I was unfortunately in a position where my company made cuts and I was in the position looking for a new job. I met with a number of staffing agencies, as well as, searching on my own. I met with Kelsey at AppleOne. She was super friendly and I enjoyed working with her. I really appreciated her weekly check-ins to see how my search was going on my own. She would also call on occasion with potential job fits. Unfortunately, nothing just came from AppleOne. It is all about timing with these staffing agencies and when positions will pop up. Some notes with AppleOne: -There were only two staffing agencies that did testing, AppleOne is one of them. I get that some of their clients want to know that you can use certain applications, but I hated the testing and I actually had issues with it working properly. I know my knowledge is better than what my actual scores were, but the computer is wanting a specific answer. For example, if it says "save this word document". Well there are multiple ways to save, but the computer is only wanting one of those, so if you do it one way and the computer wanted it the other way, it is scored incorrectly, even though you actually saved the document as well. -They don't necessarily search for you like other firms do, they send you daily e-mails of positions and you respond back if you are interested in a position. Sometimes you might receive a call from a recruiter, hey we just got this job and it might be a good fit, but this is definitely a little different handling than the other agencies. -They want a lot of documentation upfront compared to other agencies. Sure get the work done ahead of time so that you can jump into a job, but I am not going to give my I-9 documents and bank account information to every agency I am working with. They were fine with my refusal to give upfront and waiting to see if I got a job placement through them. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend AppleOne, but they do seem to be a little bit more work on your end and more involvement than others, which can be a pro and a con. read more

I have tried several staffing agencies in Charlotte and from the ones I've met with in person, this is by far the worst. They make you feel like you're going to be well taken care of when you meet with someone. I was all for the "you put in work and I will too" mindset when I first went in because I was ready for a job and ready to have this company help! Wrong. All I was ever sent were mass emails of incredibly low paying and low level jobs. They have that mindset because they don't put in the work or perhaps they don't have a good set of clients of their own. I never heard back from the person who was supposedly helping me. There are far better agencies to go to than this one. I'm giving two stars rather than one because at least I was able to get through to them and meet them in person unlike some of these agencies here in Charlotte. read more

Not satisfied at all! New to the area got registered with them was told they were really good! Very disappointed after being registered with them for a few months I have yet to be called for a job interview. I applied for many of their listings but not one interview. After being frustrated & Feeling like I was no longer important to them I asked to be taken off of their email list. Sadly to say, NO ONE even bothered to call me to apologize or see what they could do to help me find employment. Will not be referring anyone to this company. read more

Let me first say that I have worked with several agencies in the past so I know the "process" of working with such. I do not believe my issue was so much with the agency, but rather my recruiter Amber Kiko. I saw a review on here stating how wonderful she was and how great her communication had been and I would sadly have to disagree. There have literally been multiple times that I have called the office and been told my someone that "she is with a client". I understand that is the nature of her job and that most times...she really may be with a client, but I somehow get the feeling that, unless that person is expecting you to call..."she's with a client" seems to be the default response no matter what. Even in understanding that one cannot speak at the moment of an impromtu call, when I am told that "she will give you a call back at the end of the day", and she does not...that is when it becomes a problem. Now mind you, I have been placed and only for about 2 months thus far so these calls are not harrassment calls asking if she's "found me a job" but rather genuine questions about the AppleOne process such as "Where do I pick my check up from?", "When do I GET my check", and the latest and greatest "What is the process for receiving my w2?". You all have no idea how frustrating it is to rarely get an answer to your questions and when you do, it's not even from your recruiter. Truth be told, I have never disliked working with an agency as much as I have AppleOne. I work for a great company and can say that they at least helped me find a job (I actually only even had one interview, she was not diligent in sending my resume out either despite frequent emails asking if she could submit my resume for a particular job that I may have seen on her site..no response EVER). Amber Kiko has been the msot unprofessional "professional" that I have ever worked with and it is quite sad because when I first met her, I just knew she would be great. I cannot say that no one should ever work with AppleOne but I can say that I think the other three reviews that ALL happen to be 5 stars is a stretch and that either someone is helping a friend out or since the last review was written in 2014, management and the recruiters have changed. All in all, anyone who works with them, I wish you all the best (there's a 50/50 shot they will place you); and I REALLY hate speaking negatively about people but anyone who works with Amber Kiko, for the love of God...do NOT expect a recruiter who is dependable, a communicator and professional. read more

This is the first time I have ever posted a review, but felt compelled to do so -- out of respect for my fellow job seekers out there! :). If you are a professional, educated, with an impressive resume -- DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. If you are new to the job market, and do not have a formal education, or an impressive resume -- DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. My point is, we are the applicants -- they NEED to fill their job orders. However, they treat you with such disrespect (on a human level) -- that it is outrageous. The'forms' online, that are to be filled out prior to your interview, are absolutely ridiculous and extremely time consuming. There are 15 + documents -- tax forms, background check agreements, legal waivers, etc. -- to be done online -- prior to setting up an interview? They have you include your full name, address, DOB, and SS#. Firstly, this puts all applicants at high risk -- for identity theft -- to say the least. I opted not to do so, until I set up an interview, and filled out the paper work -- at the office -- following my interview. The interview process is daunting, humiliating, and exhausting. I was granted an interview, however; she seemed intimidated by me -- and came across as a jealous, five year old, "mean girl". For the record: YOU ARE NOT LEGALLY OBLIGATED -- AND SHOULD NEVER PROVIDE ANYONE WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ONLINE -- UNTIL THE DATE OF HIRE -- AND IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO FORCE YOU TO DO SO -- TO GET A JOB! Secondly, to be considered "available" for work, you must do so online -- and provide them with information of whom you have interviewed with, the company name, the contact name, and if you were 'interviewed'. THIS IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. It is a transparent 'tactic' to view the company names & contacts of other Employment Agencies -- SO THEY CAN TAKE THEIR BUSINESS. I have a background in the Employment Agency industry. I have worked temporary, as well as been a recruiter, and an 'Account Executive' (sales). Therefore, I know what I am talking about:). The requirements they are using, in order for one to obtain an assignment, employment, or position; is NOT LEGAL. It's a violation of your civil rights. I have a study in NC Civil Law. Therefore, I know what I'm talking about:). THEY WORK FOR US. Somehow, they have forgotten this? IF YOU ARE A JOB SEEKER -- DO NOT BOTHER WITH THESE PEOPLE. IF YOU ARE A POTENTIAL CLIENT IN NEED OF QUALITY SERVICES -- DO NOT UTILIZE THIS SERVICE. I hope this helps all of you out there! :). I am standing up for all of us - and blowing the whistle on this organization. They are NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN, and I refuse to work for these people. I suggest you do the same. Go with an agency that treats you with respect, appreciates the $ you will make for THEM, and follows LEGAL protocol -- in regards to releasing your confidential information.
