Cuts and Bolts Fabrics is easy to miss. If you look for it, it's before the bridge, and that's the best way to describe their location. I walked in, and they are a tiny shop but pack alot. I saw material I've never seen anywhere. They have the popular material companies, but their patterns are interesting. I like how they are innovative in their techniques. Their Row By Row pattern turned out cute. But the whole sop is not entirely about being cute. If I lived near Chillicothe, I would shop there all the time. This and Hamilton, and I would be set.

If you are thinking of buying a sewing machine from here - you might want to think again. After…read moreover 50 years of sewing I purchased my first new machine from here. If you have an issue - which I did - they don't want to deal with you. I was shouted at and pretty much called inept as John believed there was nothing wrong with the machine. And when I said then that I just wanted to return it and get my money back, John shouted that "all sales are final and no returns." (He failed to mention that at point of sale.). He even at one point shouted "I'll see you in court." It was a horrible experience! However, when I went to another dealer and she looked at the stitches - without the yelling and arm waving - agreed that the bobbin tension was off. She then proceeded to show me how to adjust the tension, plus clean and oil my machine - because I will never go back to John even for the first year free cleaning. If he can't see a minor issue and treated me this way, why would I trust him with something else? Buyer beware! (I would prefer to give a Zero rating but the system requires at least a one.)

I was walking around Ben Franklin's with two of my friends, minding…read moreour own business and browsing like normal customers, when a worker came up to us and threatened to call the cops if we didn't leave. Her reasoning? She claimed we were "focused on her" and "trying to stay warm," which somehow made us suspicious. What made it worse was that she had been following us around the store, clearly watching our every move, which was uncomfortable and uncalled for. We weren't stealing, causing problems, or doing anything wrong--just existing in the store. Being threatened with police for absolutely no reason was embarrassing and unnecessary. Customers should not be treated like criminals for simply walking around and browsing. I won't be coming back after being treated this way.

My group went here for our annual retreat and it was great! They do not provide food but we each…read moresigned up for a meal and that was no problem. There is a fully equipped kitchen so you don't really need paper plates. The rooms are very nice and although they are upstairs, there is an elevator! The retreat center adjoins the delightful shop so anything you forgot can be picked up easily. Ironing boards and irons are provided as well as cutting surfaces on bar height tables. There is also a local woman who spends the night to help with any problems. I just can't say enough about how nice it was and I'm looking forward to next year!!!
