I recently used Whiskey Whiskers BBQ to cater an event that had a "good old fashioned bbq" theme -…read morecomplete with horses on site, etc. Whiskey Whiskers BBQ brought in their HUGE smoker which was an incredible site and conversation piece, t-shirts to sell but they were out of rubs and sauces to sell because they are so popular!! Let me talk about the food....or the smell of the smoked meats....I felt like I was floating in culinary heaven! Our menu consisted of their Pulled smoked pork, pulled smoked chicken, smoked mac-n-cheese, coleslaw, potato salad and they even custom created smoked stuffed portabella mushrooms for a few vegetarians. Also provided drinks - incredible iced tea and some tasty home made lemonade!! Many who attended (about 150 people) are still writing me to inquire about this company and saying hands down it is some of the best smoked meat they have ever had - without the sauce even ((years ago I learned from the most amazing man Cletus on the backside of a smokehouse bbq restaurant in Charleston, SC that the way to tell good bbq was to taste the meat without sauce - that is what sets your tastebuds exploding and you know what....Sir Cletus was RIGHT). This outstanding group of people literally took the pressure off this hostess as they managed everything - all the set up, serving, fielding hundreds of inquiries about their delicious tasty morsels as well as helped tear down. The potato salad is an absolute must - I know I know....HOW is any potato salad different? Trust me on this - Jodi's recipe (which is guarded in a vault) is so unique, creamy and delicious you will crave it. The smoked mac-n-cheese - will send your tastebuds dancing. Coleslaw is so fresh it crunches as you take that first bite - soooooo cold and creamy. The stuffed portabella mushroom that Jodi said she just "invented" - well let me tell you I have begged her for the recipe as I crave that to this day (no luck - again recipe under the vault). Jodi & John Curtis - the owners of Whiskey Whiskers BBQ will become family to you....this isn't your standard "catering" company - nope - they are personable and their passion, kindness, willing to educate those of us who only dream to be at their level....well listen, they are good good good people and if you are lucky enough to attend one of their events, hire them on your own (trust me we will be having them back many times) or blessed enough with simply meeting them....your life is richer for it! OH and those tastebuds.....they will thank you!!!

The green beans were great with garlic and bacon. The Mac and cheese felt homemade and fresh. I would definitely eat all of their delicious food again.

I had heard good things about this place and had been really looking forward to trying it for…read moreyears. We finally made it up there a couple weeks ago, set reservations, they were absolutely not needed on the Friday at 7 when we went. The service was fantastic, the dessert that we got was delicious, the food was ok at best (something you could get pretty much anywhere but it's a charming little place so that alone made it enjoyable), drinks from the bar were really good. We happened to be sitting at a table with an elderly couple behind us, this guy was so incredibly rude that my husband finally looked at me and said " That guy over there is being a complete prick to the staff". He was speaking to the staff like they were beneath him, he was incredibly rude to multiple employees and my husband and I just agreed he must be a miserable human being to treat people that way. After they left, we overheard another staff member tell the table next to us that was the owner. We looked at a picture of him just to be 100% sure and sure enough it was the owner. The wife looked embarrassed, the whole section we were in was taking note of the way this guy was speaking to the staff. Talk about secondhand embarrassment, he obviously didn't have any embarrassment to begin with but the rest of the restaurant was taking notice and cringing, after he left it was discussed among the tables. His behavior was repulsive, if you run a restaurant and you talk to your employees like that on the dining room floor, you should be ashamed. If you have an issue with the way you were being served you could've taken that up with the employee somewhere other than the floor. You obviously think that you're more important than you actually are and your behavior that day was vile, even if that was the best food I've ever eaten in my life I wouldn't return after he demeaned that kid like that. To the poor kid that he treated the worst, who just laughed it off and tried to pretend like he wasn't being talked to like that in front of a dining room room full of people, your parents must've raised you right because you had every reason to not stand there and take that.

The location is a little different but it works out well. The menu has a nice variety and everything is made fresh. I ordered the Thai chicken satay and my wife ordered the dragons breath gourmet crunch roll. Of course we shared. Everything was delicious and I don't throw that expression around loosely. Portions are good size. But most of all the service is excellent. We will be back soon.

Though it gets its name from the liquid nitrogen used to quickly make your ice cream, the menu has a variety of salads, sandwiches, and even sushi! So, after driving around western Indiana all morning, I was intrigued by the unique name and was pleasantly surprised that they had so much variety of food items beyond the ice cream. I placed an order at the counter for a Chicken Caesar Wrap (which comes with your pick of chips). The staff quickly went to work on assembling my lunch and brought it out to my table (there are very few tables. All are round 2 tops.) Although the wrap description mentions the chicken (cubed), greens, Parmesan cheese, and Caesar dressing, there was a lot of flavor especially from the dressing/sauce. Very tasty!! I also had to try one of their ice cream dishes. They have a huge variety of flavors available so I was a bit indecisive. I asked what was most popular and was told the Turtle. So, that's what I ordered. Before long, I saw them making the ice cream with the liquid nitrogen right then. They then topped it with chocolate fudge, caramel, and pecans. Another Yum! The only thing negative was that the fudge and caramel were cold and stayed somewhat clumped instead of melting over the ice cream. But the flavors were great. The staff, including Trudy who runs the place, were very friendly and were sharing information about points of interest in the area (which I took them up on). The service brings the food to your table if you are dining-in and only charge you when you are finished. I did pay at the counter instead of waiting for a bill to be brought to my table. Parking is convenient on both sides of the street (free and angled in). The elevated entrance does have ramps at the half blocks for those challenged by steps. Good food, good people, and an overall good experience for a nice price. Review #947
