When Mabel developed a bad cough, retching at the end and a small solid lump on her hip, we brought her here for a full examination. She was diagnosed with kennel cough & lump called insignificant. 2 weeks later we returned because the cough had worsened and the lump had doubled. The diagnosis remained the same. Asked for bloods to be done. A week later we returned and saw a different vet, Conor. He told us the blood results were clear, we asked about doing imaging, he told us we would be throwing our money away. When we asked how confident he was with the diagnosis, he laughed and said he had been in this game over 35 years. He also told us to stop bringing Mabel in over niggling little things, he said if you keep looking for things, you'll find them and regarding the lump, he said sure we all get lumps and bumps as we get older. Still concerned, we brought Mabel to another vet. Who diagnosed an enlarged heart. Started meds . We still weren't satisfied as symptoms were not clearing up . Went to killester vets. They carried out full imaging and biopsies. Mabel was diagnosed with tumors in her lung, on hip and lower leg, it was an agressive cancer. She sadly passed away last Saturday. Had O'Scanaill vets taken our concerns seriously they would have done a full investigation including imaging which they did not . We are absolutely sickened by the treatment we received from O'Scanaill vets. While this practice maybe fine for routine check ups, we felt there was a serious lack of care and attention given to both the animals and the concerns of their owners. Ask yourself how much you love your pet before bringing them here .

From reception, nurses to Connor and Dave. They love and care for your animal "child, family member" as I do with sincere love and affection. The reality is you just can't buy that! However they lost a man's therapy cat which was taken by customs at Dublin Airport and put into these peoples "care". The cat was meant to be in quarrantine so how was it let out? My dog was sent there from Customs at Dublin Airport because of a misfortune oversight both by us and my vet in Sweden. My dog's rabies jab had another 5 days to go before she could fly. They took her by courier to this facility 7 mins down the road. We were instructed to go to the facility to both see it & my dog. On arrival we were verbally abused by the vet & Cathy a staff member. I asked her to stop shouting in front of my dog who was already stressed as she had no idea as to what had happened. They threatened to call the guards because we said we wouldn't leave without seeing the dog. After a while and a lot of insanity the vet allowed me to walk my dog in the carport for a few mins. He walked a germanshepherd at the same time. Then he took my dog back and put her in a room walking around freely with the German shepherd, my dog was meant to be in quarrantine! I called this awful place every day to enquire about my dog and got yeah yeah yeah answers from Cathy to each of my questions. The day before we were to collect my dog, my daughter not me, recieved an email with instructions on how payment must be made before I see the dog. When I arrived at the facility the second vet in this facility informed me we had an out of hours charge for the vet. I asked who was the vet he said it was himself. I askdd had he checked my dog at that time, no just read her paperwork! Over €100 to read a sheet of paper! €70 for the courier to drive 7 mins. The final bill being €500 almost. This is when I met the man whose cat they lost. These individuals have a lucrative deal with the Dept of Agriculture! I can only advise anyone to keep away. I saw dogs standing in the lashing rain who were boarding there! I asked to see paperwork regarding their last inspection and I was denied. I wouldn't trust these people with any animal. Please beware!

I was an absolute nervous wreck traveling with my 10 year-old Wheaten Terrier from California, and when I finally got to Lissenhall after an 11-hour flight, then picking up my rental car, she was calm and happy and clearly in good hands. It was such a relief! I am really grateful to everyone at Lissenhall who looked after Ruby and helped make a stressful time much better!

Great local pet shop, has everything you need for your pet…read more Staff are super friendly and give great advice for our dog who has a super sensitive stomach and was on a hypoallergenic food from the vet which we couldn't get and the recommended an alternative which our dog loved and did brilliantly on!! Highly recommended.
