I have only been unlucky enough to have to visit a couple of times in the past few years but I have always been happy with the service! I brought my spooky body sensitive Husky here to be seen to by Mark last week with some mystery symptoms that I was really worried about and he really took his time with her and was very patient to ensure she was as chilled out as possible! After a thorough examination he administered anti-inflammatorys for a pulled muscle in her back and took plenty of time to explain her meds for the week and put me at ease. The clinic is kept spotless and is divided into two seperate buildings, the one on the right is Just for Cats. They stock the usual vet recommended foods and meds, have a clean waiting room and a couple of appointment rooms. They have a spacious car park in front of the practice and take card payments!

He has recently developed a little cist on top of his head so I rang them. I asked if it would be OK to drop in for a minute to tell me what they thought about it. They made me wait one full hour In their lobby. Eventually somebody came and took him in a room, made a full check, weight him ( he had a booster check with them one month before) . I have to hold him because they don't even want to do it themselves which is hard because I have a bad arm. They told me to Come back and invoiced me 40 euros ! Customer service zero! Be careful they are after your money big time. No recommended to go there.

While we were away on holiday, our 3-year-old dog, Tod, passed away suddenly and traumatically. I rang the clinic and specifically asked for paw prints and hair clippings before he was sent for autopsy and cremation. These were incredibly important to us -- a small way to hold on to a part of our boy. I followed up again the week we got home, just to see if it might be possible to get a nose print too. I was told someone would call me back. They didn't. I had to chase twice before I finally got an answer -- that he had already been cremated (which I understood), but that no paw prints or hair clippings had been taken either. Then came the excuses. I was told UCD "don't do it," that our dog was "never with them," which is completely false -- our friend personally brought him to Anicare. When our friend brought Tod to Anicare (which they told me to do on the phone) he was informed "We dont deal with dead dogs". Not only was there no apology, but the man on the front desk spoke with zero compassion, as if none of this mattered. It was deeply upsetting and completely disrespectful. What made this worse is that we have four other dogs at home. We were terrified something contagious or environmental had caused Tod's death. When our second youngest began showing similar symptoms -- and knowing Tod had died in less than an hour -- we called in a panic. They told us they might be able to see him later that evening. That kind of delay could have cost us another life. Thank God for Village Vets on Clonsilla Road, who took our concerns seriously, acted quickly, and treated us -- and our dog -- with real compassion. They saw him immediately. It was everything this clinic failed to do. And honestly, this wasn't the first time they showed a lack of care. A few years ago, after our cat was hit by a car, I came in to see her body -- and one of the vet nurses laughed and said, "Yous don't have the best of luck with animals, do yous?" That moment has stuck with me ever since, and now I wish we'd trusted our instincts and left them then. If you want a veterinary clinic that truly cares about animals -- and the people who love them -- I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. For this clinic, it seems like money is the only real motivator. We will never forgive how our family was treated during one of the worst weeks of our lives.

I am sure if they had the equivalent of a frequent flyer program then we must be Gold level at this stage but I guess that is what happens when you have a Cavalier King Charles. The staff are excellent and I cannot speak highly enough of Fintan who Toby attends 90% of the time. He is friendly, patient and from my point of view very knowledgeable about the breed of dog that we have. No doubt that Vets are costly but when you get a dog you should be cognizant of that and be prepared.

Had an awful experience with this vets. I brought my sick cat in Mon. 10am and the person who saw…read morehim first said it would be best to leave him in. I went out to reception and the receptionist said that did not mean in overnight as"they did not have the facilities" I said the vet said he would be kept in but the receptionist said " there would be nobody here to look after him", "you will have to come back to collect him". I went home waited all day for a call to collect him. I got a call at 6.30 now there was no mention of coming in to collect him. The caller had results of blood and urine tests. He gave me creatine numbers and said it was very high and his kidneys were failing. But even though I asked three times "what were the chances he could get back a decent quality of life" the caller who was a vet would not give me a prognosis. I paused for a second not knowing what to do and the caller said "or will I just go ahead and give him the injection" in this bored voice (meaning to euthanize him). That was the first mention that this illness might be fatal. I asked if there was nothing that could be done for him and he said they could give him fluids. That shocked me because he had been in since 10am and it was now 6.30 and he could have been given fluids much earlier. I said to go ahead and give him fluids. The caller then said they had found bacteria in the urine so he had a urinary infection and that could be treated. Now I was very troubled about the way this practise was dealing with the situation but as it wasn't viable to look for another vets in the middle of what seemed to be a crisis. I agreed to a three day plan where he would be kept in (where I had been told they didn't have facilities) and be treated with given antibiotics. I rang on the Tues and the receptionist went to ask the vet how my cat was doing. She came back and said he is very busy in surgery "you are probably going to have to make a decision" meaning euthanize him. This upset me because I didn't think it was her job to be having that kind of conversation with me. I felt the vet should be having a proper conversation with me. I rang again on the Wed and spoke to a different vet. Now there was no talk about euthanisation he suggested other possible investigations going forward. I asked how my cat was and he said he was alert but quiet. Unfortunately my cat died in the vets on Wed night. I decided to have him cremated and asked them to take a lock of fur. Today I went to collect the ashed at a small clinic belonging to the same practice. When I got the lock of fur it was just a tiny bit of fuzzy hair in a small plastic vial. It looked like a piece of lint you would pick up off a carpet. nothing like the lovely silky black and white coat my cat had. The person at the reception in this place kept asking me the same question and completely ignored my answers. After the fourth time he asked me I said there was no point asked me the same question over and over my answer wasn't going to change. He started to tell me I was upset (gaslighting) which I wasn't I was just getting irritated by his odd behaviour. I felt it was very rude to keep asking the same question over and over. I turned and left with my pets ashes. This experience has put me off vets in general. I'm hoping my cat was treated ok but i'm fear he wasn't. I have a very heavy heart wondering if this is true.

When Mabel developed a bad cough, retching at the end and a small solid lump on her hip, we brought her here for a full examination. She was diagnosed with kennel cough & lump called insignificant. 2 weeks later we returned because the cough had worsened and the lump had doubled. The diagnosis remained the same. Asked for bloods to be done. A week later we returned and saw a different vet, Conor. He told us the blood results were clear, we asked about doing imaging, he told us we would be throwing our money away. When we asked how confident he was with the diagnosis, he laughed and said he had been in this game over 35 years. He also told us to stop bringing Mabel in over niggling little things, he said if you keep looking for things, you'll find them and regarding the lump, he said sure we all get lumps and bumps as we get older. Still concerned, we brought Mabel to another vet. Who diagnosed an enlarged heart. Started meds . We still weren't satisfied as symptoms were not clearing up . Went to killester vets. They carried out full imaging and biopsies. Mabel was diagnosed with tumors in her lung, on hip and lower leg, it was an agressive cancer. She sadly passed away last Saturday. Had O'Scanaill vets taken our concerns seriously they would have done a full investigation including imaging which they did not . We are absolutely sickened by the treatment we received from O'Scanaill vets. While this practice maybe fine for routine check ups, we felt there was a serious lack of care and attention given to both the animals and the concerns of their owners. Ask yourself how much you love your pet before bringing them here .
