Scott and his crew worked hard in cold weather to replace our roof in December. They went the extra mile to handle the details. For example, while looking for someone to fix the roof (before we chose Scott's crew for the project), another contractor proposed to completely tear off ALL the perfectly good cedar shingles (really, ALL of the shingles on the walls) from both dormers, to get at the flashing, which would have cost about another thousand dollars, but Scott's crew had a better way: just cut the cedar shingles back enough to put in new flashing where the dormers meet the roof, and then put new, painted cedar boards along the roof line, to cover where the shingles had to be cut back to put in the new flashing. It works great and looks perfectly fine; that simple answer was all that was needed. We were able to avoid unneeded work. I hired APR to fix a leak in my roof where the chimney met the roof line. Scott came over the next day after I called. He did a thorough inspection of the problem then I went up on the roof with him where he explained in detail all the issues with the existing roof and flashing around the chimney. I was confident that he know what he was doing based on his explanations. We scheduled the job for the following week. Scott and his crew showed up as scheduled. I called APR for an estimate on a re-roof. Scott stopped in ,went up on the roof and addressed my concerns about some "soft spots" , made a preliminary estimate , which was in my wheelhouse financially , they came in a couple of weeks ,stripped it down to the plywood ,removed the bad ,and replaced it with QUALITY plywood ,not particle board , and installed vapor barrier ,ice shield ,and architectural shingles. We weren't sure whether or not we had mold behind the walls in one of our bathrooms. Scott came in, found out that the issues were just from the fact that the house is so old and that there was a lot of dust and stuff making us feel sick. Scott replaced the walls, sealed everything up, repainted and fixed some damaged shower tiles. The work was great, and done very fast. Scott was very responsive to all of my concerns and my needs. Scott has done some great work on our house on two occasions. First his team rebuilt our chimney caissons when they where leaking water and rotting from the inside out. His work was incredibly detailed taking time to carefully match wood texture and paint tints.
