After going to 5+ large tile shops in Noho and Glendale searching for that perfect tile for our bathroom reno project for weeks, I decided to give this smaller scale local shop a try. I am SO glad that I walked in here. Apres has a great collection of unique pieces and his price was the best I've gotten from anywhere else. He is not a pushy salesman and he will give you your space to make decisions, which I appreciated. But, he is very knowledgeable about the tiles and the installation process when you need him and he helped us through our project. I am so glad I found Apres Tile! We were having a corner shower installed in a very small bathroom and wanted to tile the back walls of it in something distinctive, with in a vivid blue. We didn't find anything like that at the big-box stores, or in a few other tile stores. Apres Tile has a fabulous showroom, with dozens of colorful options on display, and tiled alcoves so you can see what a shower would look like. We saw five tile options we'd be happy with. We decided on a Japanese tile that is primarily made for pools, but it made our shower sensational. There should be a photo of our shower attached to this review. Our shower pan broke and suddenly we had to have the shower rebuilt on a somewhat limited budget. We went to several tile stores and felt they were pushing designs that were very ordinary, like what you might find in a 2 star hotel -- I didn't know exactly what I was looking for but when we walked into Apres Tile suddenly I did and my husband felt the same way. The owner, Apres, has great taste and we were overwhelmed by the number of tiles and designs we liked -- it was night and day from the other places. So many of the tiles seemed like art -- beautiful colors, designs, and materials, and many surprisingly affordable. We needed help figuring out how to arrange the tiles we liked in a way that would look as nice as possible. Apres took so much time with us and was honest when we were going in the wrong direction (mixing tiles that would have looked weird) and explained what would look best and he was right. He's an expert at what he does and very talented (all the sample shower stalls in the shop he designed and built). We were thrilled with the result. This was our first foray into the world of shower design. So difficult -- I'm just grateful we happened upon this local store and Apres. I agree with the other person on here with just one star. I don't know what kind of Customer Service other people had here but today I had very poor customer service. You would think I was asking for something exotic. I asked for simple old fashion 4 x 4 cream color tile. I was told that those are difficult to get and would have to be special ordered and they don't think they can get that size anyway. Sounded like he couldn't care less. I saw some pretty tile that I might have been interested in for my kitchen backsplash but the sales person just said why would you want that in your kitchen. We are upgrading a vintage kitchen and keeping the vintage retro look. He didn't seem to be able to wrap his head around that. It's pretty common if you just take a peek on Pinterest. After just 10 minutes in that store it made me definitely not want to buy anything from them ever. I even had pictures of what I wanted it to look like. He didn't even seem able to speak clear correct English. How can you do Customer Service here if you can't read more
