Master Bath - Black tile on floor and up wall

United Tile & Stone is seriously perfect. It has what you need without overwhelming you. The layout is simple and more than enough. Choosing is challenging so it is nice to have a bright, clean and accessible space in which to explore. I am hoping to remodel something (anything) soon so I can see what new colorful choices they have! And, although I am not the official president of Irvin's fan club, I am definitely an enthusiastic charter member. He makes everything easy and effortless. He is able to both give you space and help encourage smart choices. Yeah Irvin!

Wanted to work with United Tile based on Yelp reviews. Met Irvin in May when we were researching tile shops. He never left his office to talk to us, so I went in to ask questions. Per Irvin, it usually takes 3-7 days to get most tile, and we confirmed the tile line I want, Keystone from Dal-Tile, fell within that range. We returned in September to order tile. When we go in, Irvin doesn't greet us, nor does he really leave the office (on all three visits). I go get the tile samples and bring them to him. He makes calls and gets the tile confirmed to deliver within 7-10 days (I understand supply chain issues, etc.). On the following Monday, I call to check on status of tile order. Irvin says he'll check and call me back, but no call. The next morning, I call Irvin only to learn the tile was on a pallet that fell off a forklift and broke somewhere between shipping from Texas to Ontario, Ca. Irvin says he'll make it right by helping me find similar tile. We drive to Glendale to find other Keystone tile (Made in US, high matte unglazed finish) only to leave with a sample of a tile from a different line I later learn was once made in China before it was discontinued and is now made in Thailand. Irvin didn't have a spec sheet available, but he did find something online to send me that said it was not to be used on shower floors. He insisted it was fine for wet areas until I note what the spec sheet indicates. I call and ask Irvin to find other Keystone tiles that might work, and we find one together. He makes the call, confirms it can be shipped to arrive in 3 days, and we are good to go. Then, we get a call a day later from Irvin saying the "store" refuses to send the tile to Ontario and that Keystone is a problematic vendor. They have a hard time getting tile from them. In the end, Irvin refunds our money. Something to consider: if Keystone is problematic, UT should have informed me of that upfront, and shouldn't have Keystone tile samples on the floor. All tile should have spec sheets, especially when selling tile from multiple sources. I don't expect Irvin to remember every tile and its appropriate application. I do expect supporting documents. Our experience with Irvin and United Tile was disappointing and frustrating. If I didn't continue to reach out to him, I wouldn't have gotten updates. The worst part is him saying my choosing the Keystone line is the reason it is hard to find replacement tile. In addition, I ordered 1" tile (reflected on our order form), and Irvin wanted to replace with 2" tile that was available. He said it was only 1/2" larger than the original order, which he believed was 1 1/2" tile. This suggests a lack of attention to our order, and truly reflects our entire experience with United Tile where we seemed to work harder to get service than any customer should.

United Tile has a great selection and competitive pricing. Sure there are plenty of cheap places in North Hollywood that have hundreds if not thousands of sku's and tiles but my wife and I kept coming back to United Tile for their selection. A special mention to Irvin P. who was so kind and patient with helping us out. My wife and I are pretty picky and he really walked us through all the options and price points with patience and grace. Wish customer service was always this generous.

Great place in buying flooring and titles.

We found out that our bathroom shower wasn't sealed correctly and were faced with having to re-do our bathroom. We started the process looking at Floor and Decor which was fine but felt impersonal. My husband suggested we stop by Glendale Tiles and Tops which is in our neighborhood. It was there that we found our dream tile for the shower statement wall. Martin and Abel were the team who did demo, tiling, constructing the new shower etc. They were lovely to work with. Martin is a very talented tile installer and Abel was his right hand man, always professional and hard working. They set up and protected our floors every day, were very clean and considerate and maybe most importantly did an excellent job. The electrician and the shower door guys that were brought in by the team were also very kind and good at what they do. Whenever we hit a snag or problem - for instance we had to figure out placement of the mirrors and that was a bit of a puzzle, Sam would come by noodle on the problem until we came to a solution. We ended up buying a vanity base and Sam made the vanity top - we used the same quartz on the shower bench, looks great. I couldn't be happier with the final result. It's truly a dream bathroom and we had a wonderful experience.

Sam warmly greeted me and was very helpful at answering all of my questions, including helping me choose my floor and complimentary wall tiles. Prices are more than fair here (and yes, I did shop around before coming here!) There doesn't seem to be a parking lot but there was plenty of parking when I arrived mid-day. I parked in the residential street around the block, a very short walk to the shop. The shop is located near Brand Blvd. where all the car dealerships are so very convenient to find. I highly recommend checking out Glendale Tile if you are remodeling/renovating your bathroom or kitchen!

We talked a couple times and got an initial idea of what we wanted to do. Then he came to measure and talk a bit more so we could refine the project. We are not starting our project just yet because of timing but once we say yes, I'll come back to talk about that experience. From the beginning Manuel was challenging to get ahold of (no responses on emails mostly). Work started a week later than we had agreed on and Initially the project was supposed to take 3 days - demo, install, finishing- and it was suggested that it could be done in one week. The project started September 25 2024 and was finally finished November 15, almost 2 months. During demo we had to ask them to stop because they did not tape off the space and spread huge amounts of dust throughout our house that we ended up needing to do lead and aesbestos testing to move forward (not to mention, I had to take a day off of work to clean up the mess created). We had to call and text and basically beg them to send people out to finish the work and we could tell we were a very low priority- mostly working Saturdays, canceling multiple times after committing to dates, unwilling to commit to days until a day or two in advance, etc. He pretended he would work around our schedule but if that was the case, this work would have NEVER been completed. I canceled plans 3 times during this process to make myself available to get this work done. After demo, I think they realized this job was more complicated than originally anticipated but instead of telling us that, Manuel just kept us guessing, unsure if the timeline had changed- he did not want to communicate specifics with us which we would have really appreciated and welcomed. We learned quickly that they were not particularly respectful of our space so we began taping up our own plastic space dividers to keep dust and fumes out of the rest of our living space. The workers were very nice and I believe the issue is with management rather than the workers themselves. In the end, the work is nice enough which is why I give 2 stars instead of 1. The finished work was absolutely not worth the headache and displacement we experienced to get it done. It was a truly painful experience. I have other cabinetry projects I would like to do but will absolutely not be hiring MJ Custom cabinetry again to do the work.
