And, I now have been informed they are holding back over $1,000 of my rental deposit unjustly. To explain, I rented a property that was in disrepair. I did not realize the extent of the disrepair since I was not allowed to view the property until our move-in date. Searchlight did not take over the management of the house until a month after my move-in date and had no clue of the overall condition of the house and yard either, since apparently the previous property mgt company did not convey that information to them. We lived there for 2 years and moved out a month ago. We left the house in much better shape than it was when we moved in, yet we are being charged for general house cleaning and carpet cleaning as well as items (not ours) being left behind. When I moved in, the previous tenant who moved out the same day as I moved in, left behind junk inside and outside of the house. There were holes in the walls and they desperately needed painting. The family room blinds were broken and looked awful. The sprinkler system in the front and back yard did not work. The only thing that did get fixed was the hole in the wall after I complained numerous times. Oh, and they finally got a gardener out to fix the irrigation system only a few months ago. The previous tenant had 3 German Shepherds who were indoor dogs according to the neighbors. The carpets were dirty with tons of dog hairs. The baseboards even had dog hairs on them. The rest of the house wasn't much better. I need this money. This is an outrage and needs to be rectified immediately. They have 21 days to return the deposit and that time has passed a week ago. Everything is being bungled. Don't use this company!!
