While waiting for our table to be ready at the place next door, we did a little shopping. A nice variety of merchandise, branded for the area. A little pricey, but it wasnt that bad. I have seen worse. My wife and I bought a couple of heavy coffee mugs with bear and wolf paw prints on them, made by Muddy Llama Pottery, a local artist. Should have bought a third, because my son has hijacked mine. Will come back again next time we are in the area.

The selection of merchandise is extensive and the customers seem to get transfixed on everything they see so much of the conversation is limited to a very basic form of communication, most sentences start with a laugh, a OMG come see this, look at this or I remember this when I was a kid which always ended with a laugh or chuckle. Most of your time here felt like standing in line at an amusement park, it's almost always moving but usually at a snails pace as everyone takes a tour or should I say a shopping tour because there's an awful lot of touchy feely going on here, there aren't many items displayed here that aren't picked up, fiddled with or smelt, you might want to use the FIFO (first in first out) method and reach to the back of the row to pick up the items you're planning to purchase. I enjoyed reminiscing, its cool and entertaining, there's so much to see it's not a place you'll find just anywhere even in the most touristy of places. Hey the prices are not horrible I can't say if they are competitive since there's really not anything to compare it too but it was definitely worth stopping in...

On the way to our restaurant, we did a little shopping. A wide variety of things, from woodwork to rocks to shirts to jewelry. Staff was friendly too. A little cheesy, but we all need a little cheese in our lives. A little pricey, but not too bad. Will come back again next time we are in the area.

Went there with wife and grandkids and felt like the owner was just waiting to for our 6 year old granddaughter to touch something so she could yell at her. She watched our granddaughter like a hawk with her hand on her hip almost the entire time. After a few minutes, it became obvious that our business wasn't wanted. Additionally, there's a big handwritten sign about properly wearing masks, which we did. The owner however, kept pulling hers down when she would talk to the other gentlemen working. I don't know if they're related but her sign is pretty clear on what's acceptable and what's not. I don't mind this sort of demand by business owners as long as they follow their own rules. My advice is to go next door. There's 2 much nicer and friendlier shops next to this one, who are actually glad to see you walk into their business

There are 2 "motorcycle" shops close together in Chimney rock and this one is by far the best. Both years we walked into the Harley store and were ignored both times while the employees talked about their plans and chit chatted and we walked out both times buying nothing. The ONLY reason we went in the second time was because Heavenly Hoggs was closed that day. Walking into Heavenly Hoggs was like night and day. It's not a chain it's owned by a husband and wife and both times she was there working the counter. She greeted us immediately and was so helpful even suggesting something that would work better for us but was a lot less money. The coat we wanted was not in the size we needed so we ordered it from her and she will ship it to us in Ohio when it comes in. We left buying a motorcycle jacket, chaps, a shirt and hoodie. This place is wonderful and I recommend them over the other store 10000%. Go here you wont be sorry trust me. We will be going back every year that we go back to Lake Lure. And they have the cutest little dog helper "Hey you"
