Do not hire this company. I had hired this company in the early spring after a door to door salesman stopped at my house and gave me a sales pitch. He had stated that I after the "deal fo the day" of discounting the initial treatment, they would need to do 4x quarterly visits to fulfill the agreement. I had completed 3x. The agreement was under the stipulation that the inside of the house (basement and garage) be treated because this is where i notice any insects. The effectiveness of the service has always been questionable to me, but the technicians were always pleasant and hard working, so I continued the service. I have a pregnant wife and am expecting a child any week from now. I had gotten an email stating that they had me scheduled about a week and half ago, and i called and told them to cancel it because I am expecting and do not want the chemicals in or around the house while a baby is expected, and that i would call them to reschedule after the child is a few months old. She complied and cancelled the appointment. A few weeks later I received another email stating that they had scheduled me again, so I called again. I told them about pregnant wife and expecting and that I want to postpone until after that baby is a few months old. The woman i spoke with stated that she had to talk with her manager and told me that I do not have this option and they need to come out ASAP to do a treating or i would be in violation of the service agreement and penalized $180-$200. She actually asked me if I had a doctors letter to justify this request!! I told her i am not willing to even remotely put a new born baby in harms way of insect repellet chemicals in and around the house, and if they were forcing my hand I would cancel my account. She told me that either they come out for an apt or they will bill me the service and send me to collections if I dispute. I instructed her that a neighbor of mine whom signed the same day as me had cancelled 6x months ago or more and cancelled their account and was pressured to stay but said no and left without any penalty. The woman i was speaking with said she does not know or spoke with them. This company is a scam and have complete disregard for the concerns of their customers. They only care about the $. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Initially, they said they would treat 50 Feet in the yard and guarantee treatment of certain areas where my kids play. I was sweet talked and signed up for the deal. When they came out to spray the first time, the guy (different guy from the one who signed me up) told me they don't spray out that far and that the other guy told me that just to get a deal. He said he had other houses to do and that he couldn't use that much product on my house. I didn't call the company because he assured me that if I saw any bugs, I could just call and they would come back out. Next quarter visit from Aptive I watched the guy walk through my yard and NOT PUT ANY PRODUCT DOWN. He had knocked on my door, but because I was sick, I didn't answer. I guess he assumed I wasnt home. THIS COMPANY LIES AND RIPS PEOPLE OFF. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Scheduled service and they canceled the day they were suppose to come about 2 hours into their quoted timeframe, rescheduled and sat around for an entire Saturday since we had a timeframe of 1-7 no one ever showed up so we wasted an entire day waiting for service!!! I had my yard sprayed for the first time on 5/24/17. Today is 5/31/17 & it seems I have more bugs than ever. I called Aptive & spoke to Clarence about all the bugs. Buyer beware! Thought I would get my home bug free for the summer. Forst treatment the complementary one was amazing. Secpnd one the tech left a card on my door saying they could not access my back yard becuase the gate was locked... it dosent lock, and to call back for a re service. I called multiple times but never got anywhere with the local number. I called my sales rep who assured me someone would show up the next week for the service... no one showed up but my credit card sure was billed. Agaim i was promised another date weeks out but it rained amd again no one showed. After that I called and complained to a lady I was able to reach through customer service she didnt know what to do and told me someome would be contacting me, no one ever did. By now it was time for my scheduled service and guess who actually shows the tech. He does a half assed job for about 20 minutes and than he disappears. I still had wasp nests on my soffit and didnt even see the pellets he was supposed to spread over my yard. I refuse to pay for this type of service. Stay away from this company. read more

Customer service is terrible. No one calls you back. Signed up for service. We had the initial one for free and had the second application for $101. Service hasn't worked and we are selling the house. My wife called to cancel and they wanted 270 dollars to cancel. I was told if I cancelled I would have to pay for initial application. I thought that was 101 dollars, but no the initial one is marked up 2.5 times the regular application. Make sure you read the fine print. When you ask for a call back no one calls you back. I don't do reviews, but for this company I feel like I have to. Stay away! read more

Had them for a year contract and didn't find it as effective as stated. Went through the complete year and then cancelled our agreement. But somehow they will not stop coming and billing us. After at least 4-5 phone calls they are still trying to bill us. Made calls to Clay the Pittsburgh branch manager and the corporate location in Texas with no call backs. Trying to bill us for a treat they were never able to even do, our yard was locked and inaccessible for treatment??? Terrible company. I had an appointment today between 8 and noon. At 11:00 I called to see if the exterminator was still on schedule to arrive before noon. Supposedly the answering service was going to have someone call me back. At 1:30 technician had still not arrived and no call. I was placed on hold by answering company for 10 minutes because she could no get through to company. Absolutely do not use them. read more

When I did see someone come out, there were very nice and friendly. But, for the last two quarters, we've seen bugs just over a week before the quarterly service was due. This last time I was OVERRUN with ants. I called and asked what options we have since twice in a row, we aren't making it to the 3 month interval. The guy acted like 'it was just a week'. No help AT ALL. (To be clear, they are coming out early to get rid of them but I don't want to have any ants appear at all.) I asked when my contract was up and it's up with the service TOMORROW. After the inane conversation I had just had and having to go home to a house overrun with ants, I said I wanted to cancel. He said I had to call back after the service to cancel. Really?? Horrible waste of money! Each time they come, they leave a list that's entirely checked off as serviced but are gone within 5 minutes. For whatever reason, they never lay granules as required. (Probably because it takes time.) I've had to call on 3 different occasions to have them come back and do what they "claim" to do. The last time I waited the entire day for a re-service, then he showed up at 6:15 and informed me he was out of granules and requested I call for another re-service. In my opinion, if you can't get it done after three different attempts then enough is enough. Then when I was promised a refund, I've had to call twice and it's yet to be done. A door to door salesman came to my house last summer. I told him about the wasp problem I was dealing with and he assured they could help. There was never any improvement and they refused to send anyone out to deal with the issue during an escalation call. I called them recently to cancel future services and they said that despite the fact they could not help me with my problem they will charge me with an early termination fee if they do not perform a fourth service. I paid 138 per quarter with no resolution to my problem. Everyone I've spoken to has been friendly but ultimately I wasted hundreds of dollars from the arrangement. Please avoid these guys. Orkin was able to solve my problem and at a lower cost than what aptive was charging me. read more

Pretty disappointed in this organizations ability to preform pest control duties. In general we signed up for their service as preventive maintenance around the house, not a specific issue that we were having. Since we started using them last spring(2016) we now see more activity from insects inside and outside the house. After our third formal application, (but 5th visit because we called them back to address our increasing insect activity issues between planned services) we requested to cancel the service do to what we believe to be poor performance. To our surprise Aptive advised there was a $200 cancelation fee to do so. It just seems quite disappointing, they send out a good salesman to talk up the service and how important it is, the service then doesn't deliver on what they sold you, and now you have to pay them a fee to get out of schedule treatments. It feels like a bait and switch style sales approach that Paul S and M H mentioned in earlier reviews. I put what I feel is honest review so others know to weary of their tactics, if considering to use them. This company was hopeless both in scheduling the field visit and telling me when the visit would occur. Two different times were left on my voice mail for the visit and as I was driving home I was called to say the agent had finished the work but would stay until I arrived home. When I got home he was not there, but within minutes he drove up to the house saying he had not been there yet. He did a good job at locating the problem and left a rodent bait box outside the house. I paid him by check as required. One week later I received a call that it was time for my 6 month check up. The six month checkup was made without my permission and several days later I received an invoice for the service I had already paid for. I wrote to the company, telephoned the company, telling them both time I had already paid. I received three more invoices despite this. Conclusion: the field agents are competent, the business office is completely inept. read more

Called them last week. Agreed to the price over the phone. They were supposed to come this past Tuesday between 3 and 6. I raced home after work... No one came. I checked our cameras outdoors to see if maybe I missed something. No call. No email. I contacted a service representative through their main web site and was told that the office was closed but someone would be in touch with me very soon. Two days later I online-chatted again (I just want to get rid of the bugs that are apparently upset that our contractor moved around so much mulch - and now they want to come inside). Again - I was told someone was going to be in touch with me right away. No calls. No emails. So unreliable. read more

He was thorough going from room to room and then proceeded to finish outside. I can't say I've seen any major decrease in bugs, but to be honest, we didn't really have a problem when we first signed on. We signed on as more of a preventative step. read more

No real difference in the number of insects in and around the house. They do not count the initial visit in the contract so you supposedly have to reimburse them for the initial discount if you do not stay with them for four quarters AFTER the initial visit. Do not sign up with them. read more

Not happy at all, I signed up under the impression they would be treating my yard for fleas and ticks as well as whole house treatment. When asked what my primary focus was I said flea's and ticks for the back yard. I have a pool and asked about treating around the fence as well which they said they could not and needed at least 5ft. I signed up anyway with the understanding my yard would be treated (my primary concern with our dog). The service individual came to do the service while I was working from home. He told me then he would not be able to treat the back yard at all because he had to be 30 feet from the pool nor treat around the whole house. I tried calling twice prior to the follow up and was told someone would call me back, which never happened. They showed up for a second visit anyways and again would not treat the back yard. I called and was transferred to the branch manager who told me they were going to charge me $135 for cancelling even though I was initially sold a service they couldn't' even legally provide, and then told me they had 3 remaining at the higher rate. The initial salesperson told me it was quarterly treatments with the first being discounted, not an initial and quarterly after that. I was told I should have told them within 72 hours and it was in my contract that I could cancel after the first time he showed up, however it states this no where in the contract he sent me. They really need to train there sales people better, and then when I follow up, they act like it is my fault for listenting to their salesperson. Also said I didn't explicitly ask for a 'wide spread yard' treatment. My response is I'm not a professional exterminator/pest control and don't know the terminology, I told the salesperson I wanted to focus on flea's and ticks in the backyard which they have in the contract as a highlighted area to treat... read more

I'm with Danny B on this. I signed up and then they couldn't treat a major area around my house because I had a Jacuzzi and some plants around my house like strawberries. The bunnies at the strawberries and the deer ate the plants. I called them to come back and retreat after draining the Jacuzzi and they said it was time to do the quarterly treatment so another bill. Then they mis-scheduled so they missed the day and I stayed home waiting for them. Then I told them the day they planned on coming that they needed to come in the morning as I wouldn't be home in the afternoon but the schedule has amnesia about that. I have a pallet garden on wheels that can be moved but will they move it? Will they just act like they've moved it and not spray in the area? Not a service that I will be renewing next year unless things significantly improve in which case I will get on here and give an update. read more
