SCAM - Do not use this service. Does not work and salesmen are allowed to lie to you. Problem got worse in house because they sprayed outside and not inside. No option to close account and when you call the ask to authorize a 199$ charge to close out account. These people deserve to go out of business for unethical procedures. Like many of the other comments, I received abhorrent customer support from Aptive. I initially fell for the pressure of a knock on my door after getting my kid to bed; the salesman promised to address wasp nests and the vole tunnels through my yard. After several months of service, the vole situation has gotten noticeably worse with sections of the yard about to collapse from the tunnels. It took two attempts to cancel my service: the first call I was put on hold for 30 minutes waiting for a manager before going back to my day. I called again today and had a combative interaction with local manager Michael. Aptive had not been providing the services agreed to under "Standard Treatment - Pro" and could not detail what work they actually had done. They acknowledged they had never treated for voles or inside issues (pantry pests and fly traps) as defined in the standard support. I asked Michael for some type of remediation given Aptive had not fulfilled their end of the contract; he again commented that he could not verify what work was actually done during each service session. He offered to send the best rated serviceman to finally address the vole issue but could not detail why that worker would be providing a service different than what the others had already done (why were the better rated? how would they address it in the snow? why wasn't it already done?), and offered a discount. He could not explain why my account was past-due when I was enrolled in autopay, then escalated the cancellation fee. The biggest shocker was that he hung up the phone! read more

Unprofessional harassing, menacing door to door salesman who ignores "no soliciting" signs disturbing my baby's nap time, won't give his name, followed me home TWICE on his hoverboard, once recording me on his cell phone without my consent (showing him literally following me home, and me calling out to a neighbor for assistance). At first he claimed to not see my "no soliciting" sign, but then later said it wasn't "official" (??) so he didn't have to follow it. Called me a "Karen." Had to call the city police twice and now I'm terrified he's going to come back to my house and retaliate. Interactions today transcended "normal/mildly annoying salesman" behavior into true harassment. read more

Stay far away from this company. Paid for wasp and exterior rodent prevention, found the wasp bait station laying in the wood and didn't have any inspection recorded on it for 6 months or so, mice infestation on the patio that destroyed 100's in patio furniture coverings, couldn't find a bait station but suspect it was in same situation as wasp station. Don't remember seeing the sam person for any of the 6-7 visits and looks like they will hire anyone who can hold a spray bottle. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Hired them for a service to come out and remove a wasps nest last week. The tech stated that if the wasps came back within 30 days they would come back out free of charge. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with 4 different people telling me they don't offer that guarantee and I'd need to pay them to come back out. Eventually got it escalated and a gentlemen called me today saying that as a one time exception they could come back out in a week...I have little kids who are scared to go outside bc of this wasp nest. Beware: They will charge you a $199 fee to cancel your account if you do not get 6 treatments. So even though they say you can cancel at anytime, they will charge the fee if you don't meet the 6 treatment requirement (which they don't tell you about when you sign the agreement). The Company is a scam. The sales team lie to you to make the sale, the customer service is unhelpful in every way. They will never do a refund and have a large cancelation fee. I haven't used this company at all and I won't. I am writing this review based on sales persons coming to my door 3 times in 2 weeks. The first time, my husband said we weren't interested and that was it. The second time, I said we weren't interested and that was it. The third time, which bothered me the MOST, was less than an hour ago. I am on the clock working from home. So, I go to the door and the sales person started his schpiel and I had to interrupt him VERY quickly to tell him I'm working and I can't respond to him. He was trying to sell a "group rate" for our street. I understand they are trying to get business but just put a flier on the doorknob and I'll call you if and when I'm interested in your services. Otherwise, don't knock on people's doors or ring their doorbell if it's during working hours for most people. read more

Hands down the worst all around and most expensive. The monthly fees are higher than other companies and they don't work. 12 months in, and our house was overrun with spiders. Their mosquito spray does nothing, neither does their mole treatment. We were home when the technicians would come and it was a 50/50 shot on whether they would actually do a thorough job or not. At one point, a tech didn't show but the company said they did. It took a week and a half of arguing back and forth for them to realize the person went to the wrong house and for them to send someone else out. After 12 months, we decided to cancel, talked to a rep and was told it was fine and we'd have no fees. Fast forward to 3 months after that and start getting phone calls from aptive telling us we owe them $199 for cancellation fees! We had to pay or be sent to collections. So, not only did we pay more per month than we ever have with any company for 12 months for the worst services ever but we also got to pay an extra $200 just to get away from them! I signed up for a special they were offering and their employee signed me up for a 24 month plan and emailed me the contract that I never seen it signed up for. I signed up and paid for my part upfront. Tried to charged me $199 cancelliation fee for a contract I didn't ask, agree or sign up for. I paid for 2 visits with the special and we should be even. Signed up for the mosquito treatment, after dealing with a super pushy sales guy, who said that they'd continue to service until all pests were gone, except when you call for a retreatment, it's a 2-3 week wait, and you continue to deal with mosquito the entire summer, and they keep charging you for the service despite it not working, then if you ask to cancel since they haven't provided the requested service they will charge you to cancel. End up with a $199 cancelation charge and more bugs than when they started. Waste of money, avoid! read more

Today was my second experience with door-to-door solicitors from **Aptive Environmental, LLC** out of West Chester, Ohio. Just as with their prior visit, the woman at my door immediately began with a false canned story about how she was letting me know I "would soon see their truck on the street" as our "neighbor's house was being treated for bugs." Like other reviews - I found their pushy salesperson to be bothersome. I can just be glad that I have a security system which took the guys photos... just in case. There was something about this guy which just didn't feel right. In any regard, he would not accept no, no matter how many times I tried. I finally had to simply tell him to leave. Note to management at Aptive - you really, really need to change your sales practices. As it now stands, I would have zero trust in anything they sell. The reps who sign you up will straight up lie to you. The reps will say anything to get the service and of course know that you will not read the entire contract. The person insisted that all charges would be refunded and that the contract would be void if we did not see a lasting and marked improvement regarding pests and insects. The effects of the treatments are indeed seen - though only for about 2-3 weeks and then everything returns to the way it was (and perhaps worse). I have now paid over $250 to this horrible company and they are billing me for an additional $150 per the terms of the contract. To make matters worse, I am now receiving menacing calls from these people insisting the amount must be paid. If not paid the matter will be sent to collections. read more

A pushy salesperson who would not take no for an answer. I decided to go ahead and give it a try. My first visit was supposed to be a thorough assessment of my house with the technician providing a review of his findings. Was told to expect 60 - 90 minutes. The technician was here less than 20 minutes with no review provided. After my first "service" I walked around my house and found several spider webs. (The attached pictures were taken within an hour of the technician being on-site). On top of that, they withdrew funds from my bank account twice for the same service. I am waiting on the phone for the 4th time in 3 weeks to get the double charge credited. In my closing comments, I will say that I have had more bugs in my house since that initial service than I have had in the last 5 years. On the positive, their Customer Service is attentive, polite, and understanding. Not enough to justify wasting your money though. read more

Came to my home during a pandemic without a mask to tell us someone else would be in the neighborhood tomorrow. My husband told him we were laying out baby down for bed and he needed to leave and he did not. In the meantime our dog escaped, so my husband has to go chase him around the front yard while I was waiting for this virus-spreading man to leave so I could put my baby down for bed. Talk to a sales rep they signed me up they told me their product was safe for kids pets etc. when it came down to actually providing the service the technician told me I had to kick my kids out of the house I have all my pets out of the house for at least three hours. And that's not even the main issue the main issue is the billing and billing department. Was never called by the technician was told he did a service on my house check my security cameras no service was completed it was raining and no one was home. He supposedly treated around my house and around my garage and then the billing department tried to charge me for a full service over $140 when I spoke to the billing department and customer service told him did not receive the service and that I was not paying. their billing department would call me 3 to 4 times a day and after talking to numerous people they sent me to collection's had to threaten them with legal representation to get them to stop the collection and wipe my account. After that the services were very brief with no significant change after they were completed. After my year of mostly wasted service canceling is a nightmare similar to Time Warner / Spectrum. I received an email saying Aptive would be doing my service on the 30th of December and I called to cancel that service because my son is staying with me and he has 2 pit bulls that I wouldn't trust if a stranger was going from room to room in my house. I explained to the manager that my son would be closing on his new house and would be moving from my home by the end of January , she told me that she couldn't schedule the service past the 24th of January but that she could have the service person come out on the 24th to do the outside and then they could schedule a follow visit for the 31st to do the inside. I told her if their service person is out working around the outside of my home and in my yard that the dogs are going to be going crazy and I didn't want to have to listen to that and I preferred to have the service done on the 31st of Jan. and I am the one paying for the service and should be able to decide when I want the service done and she said she was sorry but she could not schedule any later then Jan. 24th. I told her I now understand why their company gets such bad reviews and that I would also write one. They will be charging me for the service because they have me on auto pay for $95 a quarter. I told her I wanted to cancel my 3rd and 4th quarter services and she said that my penalty charge would be $200 to do that, so basically you end up paying for the services whether you have them done or not.
