Love this place! This is my go-to local bar whenever I'm in the area. Everyone is super friendly, and the drinks are cheap and strong. There are also pool tables, skee ball, and giant jenga to keep you entertained; however, the regular characters at the bar provide enough of a show! I'm a local barfly and a semi-regular here. The bar itself isn't bad, but the location isn't great. Hard to find from the main road and the neighborhood is just a tiny bit sketchy. You're better off taking a cab instead of driving, and not just because they pour a little heavy sometimes. You just don't want to leave any valuables in your car. Things can get out of hand sometimes, but that's an issue every bar faces, especially in this area. Not a problem with the bar itself, just something to keep in mind. When it happens the staff usually handles the situation quickly and safely, so points to them. Clean as far as clean gets around here, and generally pretty welcoming, but they definitely have "their" crowd who will be treated a bit better than you, just like every place else. Doesn't matter who is behind the bar. At the same time, service is usually pretty good. Everyone has their off nights, but truly bad service is rare here. It's a smoking establishment, but they do a fair job of keeping up on the air filters. If they're busy it can get a bit thick, but otherwise it's not too bad. All in all there is nothing special about the place. You won't find anything here that you won't find at any of the other 20-30 bars in the area. That being said, I still prefer going here over any other place in the area. Loud enough to distract you from your problems, quiet enough to get your order in without screaming, friendly enough atmosphere and decent drinks. Point for them, Unlike some of the bars around here, if you're trying to take it easy they'll actually pour light if you ask them, they never try to make you feel bad for ordering a soft drink instead of booze and since Dan left I haven't really seen anybody coerced or tricked by the staff into drinking more. Can't say the same about the patrons, but that's another argument. As a note, if you're going out for music, forget about Hernando county entirely. Every single bar in the area books the same 5-6 bands and DJ's on different nights, with occasional "special guests" (usually the same core people with a new band or style). They all play the same set every... single... night. Even bars that don't do live music or Dj's and just have a jukebox can't escape the monotony. The same 10-15 songs over and over again. That's why bars around here have a high staff rotation, they go insane hearing Picture and Tennessee Whiskey 8 times a night. Not that the music is ever bad, just repetitive. read more

I like this bar as it's different. It's classy and nice and a good assortment of people. I was there to enjoy The Superbowl. I had 2 drinks I never had. I tried a Malibu Sunset and a Lemon Drop! Both were tasty. Great staff including the bartenders Beth and Shane. The owner was there too. Great guy named Dan. Then I met his Dad another great guy. It was free pizza for the Superbowl. I came here for karaoke night and had a blast. Awesome bartender and a friendly, non-pretentious mixed crowd. Although some reviewers said that Aqua is "Classy", I would have to put it more into a dive bar category, but in a good way. Huge pool room in the back (darts also!) and if you're drinking, you play for free! Tip: Beer selection here is just meh, but the shots/cocktails were great. Ditch the beer and get a cocktail instead. read more

So im frantically looking for him and I told head of security what happened, and my purse was back in my hands in less than 4 minutes!! Thank you so much JC for ur quick, no bs, response. Great place! Very nice, clean, great atmosphere. Good music for everyone with your choice through there juke box which you can control through a smart phone. I found that petty awesome, haven't seen that before. When there on 5/24/13, the DJ was good, bartenders nice and friendly, and the sushi was great! My wife and I will be coming here again. I would've gave five stars but they went from a non-smoking indoors establishment to a smoking one. Not big on that, not everyone wants to breath in, others habits. read more

Bouncer was extremely rude and had a server or other employee, male, with black square frame glasses, outside calling a couple "idiots" and talking badly about them and yelling things out...a lot of shady looking girls in parking lot in adition. Great local bar with huge personality! Owner and staff are super and treat you like an old friend every time you walk in. We really like the atmosphere here, i.e. no smoking, nice pool tables and the music isn't blaring so you can actually communicate with others around you. There is normally a nice crowd of people and all are pleasant, no thugs encountered here as of yet! This is our favorite local hang out! Will definitely return again and again. read more
