Went to Glory Days last night for dinner, we eat there all the time, matter of fact I'm enrolled in the Victory Club and my points got us $10 off our bill. My husband got the fish-grilled with rice and steamed broccoli, I had the Wannabe shrimp and fries. My food was fine but the fish not so much, it was greasy and the portions of fish keep getting smaller and smaller !! The service was fine, we ate at the bar much better service and faster. The main problem was when we left we were in our vehicle getting ready to pull out and some random women came out banging on drivers side window questioning us if we paid our bill-she was not an employee!!! I know this because I called the restaurant when we got home and spoke to Chris (the manager) he confirmed she was not an employee, so now I'm concerned did she just take this on herself to be a watch dog for the restaurant or did one of the employees tell her to do it !!! We usually go every 2 weeks on Friday for the fish fry on special every Friday but we were disappointed in the fish being dry and thin in some parts and fries dry. usually the cish is nicely battered and nice white flaky fish. I believe it's haddock. Being from New England we look forward to having this meal. We told our waitress and she sent over the manager who apologized for the fish and comprnsated us. We are very appreciative of his concern and will definitely go back. It could be a bad batch of fish that day or the way it was fried too much but we have to give them another chance and we often bring friends and family when we go. I am sure she could handle busy lunch people on a time crunch, but I wanted to have a cocktail and take my time eating. She understood and achieved the perfect balance of checking on me but not being annoying. I called the Manager over to tell him what a gem Betty is. Good service is equally as important as good food. My sister and I each got a cup of clam chowder in addition to our salads and although the chowder itself was yummy, it was $5 for a very small cup that was only half-full. Sadly, this was a poor dining choice for my family. We sat outside with a limited seating choice because several of the tables hadn't been cleaned up from the previous diners. They remained that way for our entire meal. The floors were dirty,even the lower part of the walls needed wiping down. Someone was smoking cigarettes, which I don't know if that allowed, but it definitely upset our kids. The restrooms were a disaster. Not clean at all. The food was bland and not appealing at all. Cesar salad was over peppered, ribs were dry, and the side onion were bizarre. The chicken wings were excellent. We had the Wednesday special half rack of ribs. No one finished their meal. We really like this location and the people. The smoked wings are great and a little different being smoked. I'm always getting the buffalo cauliflower and the boneless wings. They have about 8 different sauces to choose from. The boneless wings are so meaty...not just a lot of breading like some other places. The staff is always so friendly and the place is always clean.
