My niece whom is 14 months just completed the survival program with Aquafit. It is a 6 week program with lessons for 10 minutes a day Monday - Friday. Initially I was skeptical about the 10 minute time slots but now realize how impactful it was and her coach Camila Santana really maximized her time. It was just enough time to keep her in the water and engaged in the activities that were being conducted. She is now extremely confident once she hits the water and it was a perfect gift from me for my niece and her family. I was lucky enough to find not only an instructor but a teacher that became a great friend to my daughter through one of the most challenging life lessons in her life. Jamie was an AMAZING instructor! Being that my daughter was only 1, I wasn't sure how well she would do. I started off as a spectator just watching these amazing videos of babies and toddlers floating on their backs on Instagram, until one day I finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to call Jamie at Aqua Fit Swim LLC. I inquired about survival swim classes and I'll never forget that call, my only concern was my toddler doesn't like strangers. I explained this to Jaime and she said "no problem, even if she's screaming all 6 weeks she'll still learn" I was doubtful at first but took her word for it. My stubborn child took the record for holding her breath the longest refusing to turn on her back, I was starting to think, there is NO WAY she's going to give in. I couldn't blame Jaime she really did do everything she could to train her, and just like she said even screaming and howling she was learning. Well, I am one proud mother of a "survival swim course graduate" who is SUMMER READY! She did it, just as she promised on that initial call. Jaime really is amazing with kids no matter the circumstance, she adjusted to speaking to her in Spanish, she brought toys, kept her focused but having fun all at the same time. I am 100% confident now that my daughter is safe and will enjoy our spring/summer/fall pool sessions she already enjoyed, but this time without floats, just applying everything she learned during her 6 week course with Jaime and Aqua Fit Swim LLC. Can't wait to get my baby boy in the water with Jaime soon. Do not hesitate no matter the circumstance to call Jaime she can and will make it work and your kid will swim, TRUST ME. I think it's also important I add my daughter fractured her knee 1 week and a half before graduating October 2018. My daughter had fallen into the pool at the age of about a year and a half this past summer. And although she wasn't hurt or afraid it was a wake up call to my husband and I to get her swim lessons. We searched around and interviewed Jamie. We instantly felt she was the one to give us peace of mind. She explained her survival program and that's what we signed up for. She has a soft but firm and even playful attitude that makes it easier for a toddler to enjoy the lessons. She has a lot of experience and based on what we observed worth every penny. Six weeks ago Amory wouldn't go into the pool without her floaties. Wouldn't put her head under water. Wouldn't jump in the pool. Ashton just sat on the steps or would cruise around the pool with me or Michelle holding her. Michelle found AQUASWIMFIT and felt like the timing was never better, while we're home, to get the girls swimming lessons. It's not so much about swimming, but surviving. Hundreds of toddlers drown each year. The first day Camila shows up and gets down to business. She's assertive and friendly, the girls are crying and totally weirded out. Next day, same. And the next. I started to notice something. I told Michelle, this woman is a pro. It's so attractive. Excellence is attractive - doesn't matter what you do, when you do it well it shines light. She arrived at 9AM for six weeks. Never 8:54 or 9:03. Many days I'd go inside and watch the lessons from the kitchen. Always with the same disposition - fun,engaged, encouraging,celebratory when it was earned and critical when it was needed - "What was that!? Hey, you're drinking all my pool water! I'm not getting splashed - where are your kicks?" She takes her craft seriously. Teaches. Challenges. The girls started to love Camila. They wanted to please her and their confidence grew daily. There are lots of swimming pools in South Florida and I was nervous about water safety even before my children were born. I was eager to teach my first son how to swim at a young age as a result. We were lucky to find and train with Jamie! I research everything extensively before I buy, and the word of mouth among local parents was that Jamie was the best. They were right. Jamie had my son swimming underwater towards the wall at 1.5 and actually swimming (able to come up for air and go under again) a couple months after his 2nd birthday. Her techniques are brilliant in their common sense -- but I assure you that you couldn't think of them on your own! Perhaps most important (if you are a toddler), is that she makes it fun! Separate from her technical abilities, Jamie is super nice and emotionally intelligent -- she will mirror your personality (or parenting style) and know when to push without being pushy. I can not say enough great things about Jamie & Aqua Fit! After seeing my daughter reluctant to go swimming and clinging to my husband or me we decided to enroll her in intensive infant survival lessons. We chose to go with Jamie after seeing the results first hand with some of my friends babies and seeing reviews in the local moms Facebook groups. Jamie was the perfect fit for us. My daughter is very stubborn and Jamie has infinite patience for her. By the end of the first week my daughter (22 months) was having fun in the pool and swimming to the stairs but very very reluctant to float. Jamie is fantastic! We came down from NYC to Miami for a week over New Years and were looking for an instructor who would do daily lessons with our 4.5 year old daughter at our hotel pool. Our daughter has had swim lessons both group and private on and off since she was a year old and is very outgoing but often reluctant to take to new people. She hit it off with Jamie straight away and by the day we had left, after 4 sessions she was doing drills with her of techniques and strokes she had just learned a few days prior. Jamie has an easy manner and builds rapport with children and adults alike quickly.
