This is the one of the few times where my selected room was the actual room I received upon arrival. Each time we needed assistance, the attendants quickly tended to us without issue. We arrived at around 9pm. The attendants at the front desk gave such great customer service. Their welcome/check-in spiel was clear, informative, and did not come off as rushed. When they saw that I was staying with my dog, they immediately invited us to bring my dog to the front for her to select a complimentary toy and treat. A first out of all the Homewood Suites I've stayed at! The free breakfast selections were great - eggs, sausage, waffles, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, toast, bagels, etc. There is a game room with billiards, giant Jenga, Connect 4, and shuffleboard. The pool area has a ping pong table and giant chess. The 24/7 fitness room is spacious with working equipment. I would definitely stay here again for the customer service alone. My baby was crawling around in the room and had black hands and knees. He was eating someone else's hair so didn't feel clean. The window was really dirty. Also the air conditioner sounded like an airplane was getting ready to lift off.

I was looking to find a clean hotel close by (within 10 miles to the parks) with Hot breakfast and free parking. There were quite a few that were available. But I know from my past stays I have enjoyed Holiday Inn Express hotels so figured I would try to find one between the parks and Huntington Beach and this location was recommended. Drove from Sacramento and arrived around 1am and hotel staff greeted me and offered a luggage push cart. Stayed on the 3rd floor in the corner with street view. It was a little noisy at night from cars that drive by if you're a light sleeper but otherwise it was fine. Bedroom was 2 Queens and the pillows and bed were very soft. Included with the room was a cooling fridge (did not notice it froze anything) and a microwave. Bathroom had Dove products of hand soap and lotion by the sink and body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. There was also a sign that if you forgot to pack anything you could call the front desk to get it. My son forgot his razor and they provided a disposable one with a few packets of shaving cream. This is free just for asking. The breakfast is on the lobby floor and is from 6am to 9:30am sharp! There are many hot items that do run out around 9:15am so keep that in mind. There was yogurt, boiled eggs, hot oatmeal, and for the hot prepared entrees it was either potatoes, scrambled eggs, veggie omelet or cheese omelets and one day was biscuits and then gravy. There is a pancake machine to make your own pancakes. Juice machines include cranberry, apple or orange juice. They also offer hot cinnamon rolls. And of course there are a variety of pastries, muffins, bagels and toast and cereal machines. The best part is there is a fresh brewed coffee machines and that is available all day for your caffeine needs. Parking lot does get full in the late evening but there is plenty of free parking somewhere around the building. Pool was warm and my son and his friend did use the gym which had a few cardio machines and plenty of barbell free weights. Housekeeping staff was wonderful and provided any extra towels we needed. This was a wonderful location with clean rooms, great breakfast and hospitable staff. It is close to interstate 5 to jump on and off the fwy. About 10 minutes drive to Disneyland park. I would definitely choose to come back and stay here.

To top it off, after we had already checked out at the front desk, the hotel called us two hours later asking why we hadn't checked out yet. Additionally, certain ice machines were not working without signs informing and redirecting guests (normally operational every other floor)... Alas, a tough one... we are usually quite happy overall at the Embassy Suites but for this location, 5 for service and 2 for functionality, evening out to a 3 only because I was impressed by the staff. He said to give him a couple minutes and came back in five minutes with two yogurts and utensils for me! Also complimentary breakfast and omelette bar in the morning for guests. Clean bedding and pillows. Spacious room with kitchenette and dining table. Two TVs. Now for the bad: my hands felt grimy in our room. It generally felt uncleaned. Floor covered in crumbs or dirt. I left my flip flops on the entire time after my daughter said her feet were dirty walking barefoot in our room. Fan in bathroom not working. A/C not working & very hot/humid in the room. Also smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals in the room so I had to crack the slider open, letting in even more heat, but better than ending up with a chemical odor-induced migraine. Thank goodness the sliding door actually opened. There was no screen though and loud traffic and police siren noises below. Furniture falling apart in every room. Dressers were propped on shims and drawers still falling open on dressers and cabinets. Old fixtures and mismatched items and decor. No hot water for shower at night - I felt extremely guilty and like a water-waster because I had the shower running for 30 minutes to try to get it warmed up to something warmer than ice cold. After this, it finally started warming up a little bit and I was able to take a quick shower. I guess it balanced out with a really hot room to have a really cold shower. Shower seemed very old with leaky draining fixtures and a bathmat permanently covering something underneath. Bathroom floor was matched from the rest of the room and seemed older. Bathroom door and molding seemed to be made up more of paint than actual wood or particle board. Breakfast gripes: Weak, watery Folgers coffee that tastes instant was the only coffee available from a dispensing machine at breakfast buffet. Potatoes had a weird aftertaste. I managed to get a little breakfast in me by choosing some oatmeal with toppings, some cold sausage links, and the watery coffee. Indoor pool available that seemed to be getting a lot of use near the workout room on the first floor. Check in through the app wasn't working so I had to come inside to actually physically check in and get key cards. Lobby staff was friendly and helpful. Glad I didn't pre-pay $22.00 for parking on the app because you didn't have to pre-pay for parking in this lot.

Let's start from the beginning. We checked in on Friday night at 10:30. Jennifer checked us in. I asked her which room she had available, she said we were booked for room 112 on the ground level. She said there was another room on the second level but that I couldn't switch rooms because I booked a hotel room with a third-party. All good, we just wanted to get to bed. We checked into our room. Basic room, no-frills, but there was a mini refrigerator. It was empty, but it was great to put our dinner leftovers. Turns out we were in the ADA compliant room so the doorway were large, in the bathroom was extra large. The shower/bathtub had a shower bench. None of this bothered us. We just wish there was a vanity in the bathroom. There was no space to put anything in the bathroom. Nothing here is great but it's good enough. It's cheap. Got one king bed. Totally comfortable and slept very well. We were here just to sleep, from about late night to 7 AM on both days. And to shower. Plenty of hot water. The shower head needs to be replaced! Sprays water everywhere! The flooring planks are cracking and warped. Maybe there was a big water damage, and they couldn't replace it? The nightstand was dirty - it was not wiped down. So I wiped it up. The parking lot is fine. There's coffee in the morning in the registration room. Hot water too. My usual request stands, to be on the top floor, so you don't hear your upstairs neighbors walking around at night and early in the morning. Totally good to return.

USB charger by bed didn't work and tv remote didn't work, bath door won't locked and so on. I've chose the location for being advertised as the cheapest but in overall I paid 211.10 for one night. Got my deposit back after 6 days so thats the only good I can.

You can't access the main parking area until you have your room key, so you first have to park in the upper lot near the lobby, check in, and then get back in your car and drive down to the actual parking area. This was not made particularly clear beforehand. Check-in itself was chaotic and stressful. There didn't seem to be an organized line, so people were essentially lining up wherever. Even once I got to the counter, I stood there for several more minutes while the employee typed away at the computer before we actually started the check-in process. During check-in, I was also repeatedly encouraged to decline housekeeping in exchange for Hilton points. I said no the first time, and then it was pitched to me again. I said no again and made it clear that I wanted housekeeping. Having to repeatedly decline an upsell while simply trying to check into my room was frustrating. Another thing to be aware of: the elevators are quite far from the front of the hotel, which could be a real issue for anyone who is disabled or has difficulty walking. There are also only two elevators, and they feel old and rickety. There was apparently a large football-related event happening at the hotel during my stay, which I was never told about at check-in. When I returned to the hotel around midnight on my first night, there was actually a LINE just to get on the elevator. People were packing themselves into it, and given the condition of the elevators, it honestly felt a little unsafe. As for the room, there are some positives. It's a nice size and the bed is comfortable. Unfortunately, everything else has been strange. The air conditioning barely works, and apparently I'm not alone because other guests were actually discussing the same problem while we were packed into the elevator. The shower has the opposite problem: the water pressure is so incredibly strong it feels like you're showering under Niagara Falls. Also, hot is cold and cold is hot. I had to look up Yelp reviews to not scald myself. The final straw was being jolted awake at 6:00 AM by the room's alarm clock. Apparently the previous guest had set it, and it was never reset before I checked in. Nothing like being awakened by a blaring alarm you didn't set while staying at a hotel. Overall, the hotel feels like an older property that has been remodeled without addressing some of the underlying issues. Between paying $39 per night just to park, the confusing parking setup, chaotic check-in, repeated housekeeping pitch, elevator situation, barely functioning AC, and being unnecessarily woken up at 6 AM, this has been far more stressful than a hotel stay should be. Unfortunately, the condition of the room was completely unacceptable. The room was filthy, the lights were not working, and when I tried to use the switch on the bottom of the floor lamp, it was covered in dirt and a sticky residue. It was extremely unsanitary. I took photographs documenting the condition of the room. I immediately called the front desk to report the issue. I was told by THE MANAGER to come downstairs and that the room would need to be cleaned, but that it would not be ready until 3:00 PM--or possibly 2:00 PM "if I was lucky." The manner in which this was communicated to me was also extremely rude and dismissive. I was essentially made to feel that my only options were to accept the situation or leave. When I went downstairs, I was then told that I would need to leave and come back later. This was particularly frustrating because I had specifically called ahead to arrange the 12:30 PM arrival and had been told it was approved. At that point, I asked the front desk to cancel my reservation. I was told that because I booked through Booking.com, I would need to contact them directly. I immediately contacted Booking.com, and they have reached out to the hotel regarding the cancellation and refund, but I understand that the hotel has not yet responded. I am requesting that the hotel approve the cancellation and issue a full refund immediately. I did not choose to simply leave a satisfactory room. I was given a room that was dirty, unsanitary, and not properly functioning after being told in advance that I could arrive at 12:30 PM. I have photographs documenting the condition of Room 217 and can provide more of  them if necessary.

This last bit was very important to me as I know that some of the hotels right near the parks can get a little gross. This was not the case here. It's clear that someone's taken a lot of care to really rehab this place and make it something special. The decor is so charming and it really feels like a little oasis on Harbor Ave. It is expensive don't get me wrong but you pay for convenience here. From the hotel to the security entrance, it's about a 10 minute walk. That on top of the free breakfast and aforementioned free parking make this place a no-brainer. I should also mention that there is a shuttle to the park, if you prefer that, it runs around every hour. Unfortunately, we came to Anaheim during one of the worst heat waves we've ever experienced, but the Candy Cane Inn came through with the stellar AC. This was a great retreat during hot days to cool off and catch up on sleep before heading back to the park after sunset. My only beef is they need to add a path between here and Avengers Campus since we're right next door! It would be so convenient.

When walking the hall and just glancing into a room being cleaned, they do not put the beddings on the floor like 99% of other hotels. If this is a detail they enforce, as a guest you can feel at home when you finally crash for the evening after a full day in the park. Grounds - wow! They were non-stop cleaning, pruning, watering. This is the Disney experience you hear about. Complimentary Breakfast - from 6:30am-9:30am. But I saw people coming in at 9:40 and the staff didn't turn them away. Yeah, I'm looking at you Hyatt House. And the variety of foods is great. The fruit actually looks like it was freshly cut and not from a bag. They had papaya and mounds of blueberries when I was there, among the classics like strawberries, cantaloupe, and watermelon. Instead of a spoon to serve yogurt, they had flavored Oikos in their individual sealed containers so there ain't sticky fingers double-dipping! Lobby - they have fresh water with watermelon slices. Super refreshing because it was 90 degrees during our entire stay. Bottom line. Such a clean and friendly environment. Top notch!
