ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PROJECT…read more We previously hired Outer Image in the summer of 2011 for a backyard pergola, patio, and a fire pit, as well as a redesign of our front entry. That project was on budget and on schedule and because of this, the project was very successful. My wife and I both have keen attention to detail and everything was completed with utter satisfaction. We continually were complimented on the overall design of our property and this was due to Steve and his creativity. Fast forward to the summer of 2020, we decided that we wanted to change the pergola out for a covered patio as we wanted an area to sit that was protected from the weather. We had multiple contractors price out the project and ultimately decided to hire Outer Image again. Steve's pricing was competitive; in addition, his design and attention to detail are what made us ultimately chose them again. Since our original pergola was still structurally sound from 2011. Outer image recommended keeping the main structure and just removing the top pergola portion to build the vaulted roof structure. This was a huge cost saving to the budget. Outer Image took care of all of the drawings, designs, and permitting with The Woodlands. As soon as we received approval, they worked with us and the pool contractor to coordinate the schedule, site access, and overall coordination so we could complete both projects on time. There were some roadblocks with typical Houston weather and the Outer Image crew was very accommodating and continued to keep the overall project in line. In addition, any questions that arose during the project were addressed and reviewed directly by Steve in a timely and professional manner with a thorough explanation. During this process, we added some additional scope by changing the original 2011 wood deck to an Azek material, replacing some gas pipes in an outdoor fireplace, as well as adding some lighting and electrical to the new structure. All changes were easy to make and the team at Outer Image was happy to accommodate them. He spent time giving us a thorough inspection and our estimate was in line (and more detailed) than other estimates we had gotten. It was the professionalism that had us choosing him. I swear he responded to every question I had in like 5mins and had no problems answering even my dumbest questions before I signed the contract. He took his own time (multiple times) to take me to Floor and Decor/Home Depot/Lowes to help me choose and transport all the materials I needed. Literally this guy was like our own interior designer and could envision whether a tile would work for our vision before we even knew what our vision was. Obviously you guys can see that our black and white look worked out in the end perfectly. Also, he helped us pick out tiles and materials that would work IN OUR BUDGET. Yall wouldn't believe how expensive some tiles can get. And he even helped me go return leftover tiles at the end to get back some money. He knows this grad student needed every extra cent lol. For the actual work, he pays attention to detail. For example like cutting tiles and leveling them EXACTLY, not even 1 degree OFF even if we couldn't tell. I had two trees taken down. One pine and one oak and both within 12 feet of house +100 feet growing…read moreover roof of my house and neighbors, heck the diameter of the trees is 24 and 37 inches... The trees were taken down and debris removed over two days. I marked my sprinklers and after they left I tested them and Yes they all worked. They did great job on removal and I had them trim another live oak to let light in as grass was dying underneath. Now I have sunshine for the dirt and will plant grass next season. Would hire them again to trim my trees as maintenance and do a another removal if needed. Negative is that I had to remove 1 trash can full of chain saw dust from the yard but then again there was A LOT of wood cut.

I had a roof leak due to faulty solar installation. I called several roofing companies and the only…read moreone that showed up was Penaloza. Within two days from my request, Arturo came out and gave me an estimate to pull the solar panels and repair the roof. Originally the estimate was for two sheets of plywood and 70 sq ft of shingles. Due to the poor solar installation more area was involved When the job was completed, it involved removing approximately 30 panels and pulling the shingles and decking under them. It took about 4 days to complete the repairs. They cleaned up every day and it looked as if nothing was out of place. When finished they had replaced the solar panels. All is great. Leak stopped, solar panels are producing as they were before (BTW do not recommend solar, Long Story). I would use Penaloza again! They seem to be a full-service contractor. Arturo also gave me an estimate on repainting the house but will be waiting for a while on that. His price for both jobs was excellent!
