The job required a professional design that incorporated challenges with a natural runoff of rainwater through the property. Jack's design and installation nailed the challenges and left us with a backyard with never-ending compliments. This is best landscaping specialist I have ever met. They came out to fix a super bad job in draining/grading by someone else and i was astonished by how capable they are and how honest they are. Jack is an absolute MASTER of his trade and the people that work for Jack are knowledgeable and polite, and carry out his instructions fully and perfectly. The problem with Field's Landscaping located in Magnolia Texas is the shrubs he planted are dying. He regulated the sprinkler system to water for two days a week which is not enough for new installation. He planted five 30gallon shrubs, and two are dying. I have over ridden the frequency of watering due to the extreme heat we've had this summer but I'm unable to save two of them. I've contacted him several weeks ago concerning this. He said he would take care of it but he hasn't. He also planted many one gallon ferns in sunny areas and they also are dying. I believe they need to be in shaded areas. He also planted other one gallon shrubs which will take many years to grow. What a disappointment. He charged me almost $9,000.00 and we are loosing many of the shrubs. I would not recommend him to anyone. I'm an elderly person in my 80's and feel he's taken advantage of me. The only thing he made good on is replacing the battery charges his men ran off with. He had told me to leave our garage door open so they would have access to the sprinkler system control box. I'm deeply disappointed. read more

We searched around and did the traditional 3 bid process. In the past we have always chosen the least expensive, and ALWAYS have had to manage the process and work more than the crew doing it. Jack and his team need no managing, direction, etc. They show up promptly at 8am, are meticulous on details, communicate well, and clean up their area before they leave each day. Jack comes every morning to make sure his crew is set for the day, and checks on them throughout the day. I highly recommend Fields Landscaping. We decided to make some significant changes to redo our front and back yard landscaping. The front yard was essentially unchanged from when we built 17 years prior and the backyard had some minor work done after we installed a pool. Overall, things had become quite overgrown and needed a drastic make-over. After being dissatisfied with several other landscaping companies, we decided to give Field's Landscaping a call. Jack Fields was very professional and listened really well. He showed us a portfolio of different plants and landscaping options and after understanding what we were looking for, he took some measurements of our yard, inspected our irrigation system and said he would be in touch with a design. Shortly later, he came back with a full landscape design for our yard, complete with pictures in his portfolio to help us visualize the project. He was careful to recommend plants that would do well give the lighting for each area of our yard, recommended removing some trees provide a clearer/cleaner street view of our home. His estimates were detailed and after we made a few design changes, he immediately provided a total estimate which we were very pleased with. He put us on his schedule and his crew was onsite for a full week. As the project went along, we made a few tweaks and Jack was always very accommodating and clear if there would be any extra cost involved (ex we decided to have them redo our backyard landscape lighting which he did for a small additional charge). One thing I really liked was he did a great job fixing some issues with our irrigation system (including finding a significant leak that I had no idea about) as he was sincerely interested in assuring our investment would thrive despite the long Texas summer. I am not one who typically has time or the forethought to write a review online or social media but I felt compelled to do so with regard to Jack Field. I have acreage and over the years have dealt with many landscapers and workers in general on my property. I found Field's Landscaping and Irrigation through a social media site and it was a positive plug so I decided to have Mr. Field come out and look at the job I was needing done. First and foremost it is my belief that the owner is a man of integrity. I typically seek someone I can establish a relationship with going forward and Mr. Field and his company has fit the bill perfectly. He is honest, timely, performed my job with impeccable diligence and detail and it became very clear that his goal is to gain my trust and exceed my expectations. He is fairly priced and was very upfront from the start to completion of my project.
