They worked with them on their comfort level, the instructors were very patient and it did the trick pretty quickly. I highly recommend ‍ There are many programs here at the Y that are great! The pool for lap or recreational swim, the gym and classes for working out, the after school programs, Camp Twelve Trails, music lessons, theatre, other youth and senior programs, and so much more. What a great gym! This multi-story, luxury gym is really nice and certainly a place to check out…read moreIMHO. The equipment is great, the facilities are great, the amenities are great, the group exercise classes are great.... the indoor tennis courts... the golf practice area... I could go on and on, really. Some of my favorite aspects include: - The Fitness Equipment: TCR has cardio machines (elliptical, treadmill, bikes, etc.), nautilus equipment, free weights, a Smith machine, TRX, etc. You name it, they have it. They even have a recumbent bike that has video games integrated into it. So, as you are riding the bike, you can pretend that you are rolling along in your own "shot 'em up" style game. Very cool. -The pool: The pool itself is huge and multi-lane. It even opens up to a large deck for getting some sun or hitting up their pool bar and grill. Oh, and they have Happy Hours on the deck on Fridays during the summer! -The group exercise classes: TCR offers Les Mills classes and other great strength, cardio, cycle, and "mind, body, spirit" classes. There is definitely something for everyone. -The staff: Wow! The staff at TCR are all so nice and knowledgeable. Kudos to the management for excellent recruiting and training! Special Note: If you have kids, this place is great, too because they host camps for kids and other youth programming. They even have transportation to get your kids to and from the facility. My personal background in swimming includes years of swimming competitions and life guarding when I was a teenager and I am thoroughly impressed with the effectiveness of the SafeSplash Swim School pedagogy, the hands-on approach used to train new swimmers, and the affordability. My daughter was scared to jump into the pool on her own, even with an instructor waiting to catch her, when she was five years old and first starting a thirty minute once-a-week group lesson. After consistently attending those classes, she is now seven years old and able to swim twenty five meter lengths back-and-forth, alternating between freestyle and backstroke, and continues to attend classes as she moves up through the pedagogical levels. This place is disgusting. I would never bring a child or baby into these conditions…read more What a weird set up. my wife felt very uncomfortable bringing our 1 year old here. They have a weird changing set up in front of all the gym swimmers to see your child naked because you are not allowed in the 24 hr gym locker rooms. They have these flimsy tents they want you to use on the slippery floors. So the classes are in the gyms pool. They try to teach in a 3 foot lane while the gym swimmers are splashing around with paddles and doing their workouts. Really distracting your kid. The place is really dirty and unsanitary The classes are 30 min. The kids teaching just kept asking me how much time left. After my first class which was an intro I immediately told them. This isn't for us. We don't feel comfortable in this dirty weird environment and for $250 for 4 classes. It's really not worth it. We have found way better options. This was just first place that popped up on google. If you don't believe me. Go ahead and give this place a try
