We were also told one particular class would have the children being in the pool in regular clothing, a technique to help prevent drowning. This never happened. A little disappointing. In the 6 months that my nearly 12-year-old twin daughters have been swimming at Safe Splash, they have developed near-perfect technique and an even greater love of swimming. All the coaches are professional, experienced and warm. My daughters started in group lessons and then moved to a swim-team training program. They swim twice a week and they are always ready to hop in the car and head off to class. This is a real credit to the coaches and the management team. I wish I had known about this school when my girls first started swimming 7 years ago.

Overall, it no longer feels accessible or geared toward working-class individuals or people with limitations when you bring it up to their attention they truly don't care. Cherelle, who leads this class on Tuesdays, is a great trainer and puts the hurt locker on while making exercise on a stationary bike "fun". The pool is 25 yards and way shorter than an olympic size pool (50 meters). Size matters, eh? During lap swim hours, the pool is divided into two lanes: slow and slower. For those who need a good workout, be prepared to swim around your neighbors. During the summer, test your patience with all of the visitors with day passes. The gym and pool hours are limited and designated for classes and gender/age groups. If the location works for you and you can accept the limited schedules, join the Bronx House. The gym, with the TRX equipment alone is superior to most of the $20 gyms in the area. Make sure to review the calendar for holiday and maintenance closings. Staff does not get paid overtime, the whole summer we've been understaffed. Bronx House camp & building has received multiple of violations & still nothing has changed. The pink staff supervisors are beyond unprofessional, dress codes being broken yet regular staff were the only ones to get a write up for it. The way in which Lead Supervisors would go about talking to their staff gave parent instead of supervisor. Bronx house is not it. The disorganization when it came to trainings, daily schedules, even down to the trips. The higher staff aka the Pink shirts are very messy. All staff are but when leads were here it gave high school. There was supposed to be breaks 45- an hour for all staff shortage or not away from children & we have not gotten that YET. A class action lawsuit will be filed.

The swimming pool is very large and has plenty of lifeguards however the locker room/bathroom situations is quite a big problem mainly in the showers since there is little to no hot water some of the time also there are broken movable shower heads in both family locker rooms and the floor itself looks festered with disease it left a bad taste in my mouth. Besides that issue the community center has good heating and air conditioning and very friendly staff and good wifi as well.

They worked with them on their comfort level, the instructors were very patient and it did the trick pretty quickly. I highly recommend ‍ There are many programs here at the Y that are great! The pool for lap or recreational swim, the gym and classes for working out, the after school programs, Camp Twelve Trails, music lessons, theatre, other youth and senior programs, and so much more.
