One of main reasons I selected NovaCare was my past experience & they could see me quickly as opposed to several weeks wait as other PT places. Day before my appt NovaCare left message on my cell @10:30am saying they were 3 therapists short this week & would need to reschedule me to next week when they had a 'few' appts available, so now I was being pushed out at least a week. I quickly called another PT facility further away to get me started ASAP. I then called NovaCare to cancel anything further & was told they had contacted me to say they had an appt still available the next day but at noon instead of 2pm. I said I was never told that & I would stick with the new PT company. Later I noticed my landline had a message on it from NovaCare @2:30pm saying they had a noon appt the next day. No idea why they called earlier on my cell to say had to wait a week now, and called 4 hours later on landline to say something was available (landline messages are usually spam). After this scheduling issue I didn't feel confident on how my situation would be handled going forward.

A month later, and I have received a bill for $173.00. Each procedure they did was billed separately and charged to me. I have been to physical therapy before and never had electronic stimulation or an ultrasound for lower back pain charged separately. The problem is that they don't tell you these are discrete charges or that you should check with your insurance. Moral of the story is that this provider is trying to charge for all possible billable service and that potential clients need to check before visiting here. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

She used a variety of techniques that allowed me to modify exercises and avoid exacerbating my condition, and she gave me techniques to use to avoid pain in activities of daily living as well, such as getting in and out of the car. I found her through a search for Graston Technique and Active Release Therapies. She is certified in both, and utilizes them to great benefit in her practice. I have suffered from cervical spine tightness, a knot of the ages near the top of my neck for about a decade due to computer work, poor posture and the ravages of time, but she has been the first practitioner who has had any impact on me. In only four sessions, I'm already feeling relief, and feel almost younger for lack of a better term, due to the greater range of motion and reduction in pain. Graston Technique involves using specialized tools to break up adhesions and the ART is like a deep tissue massage with coordinated stretching coordinated. There seems to be a synergistic benefit in applying these interventions. Dr. Oatmen also does some electric stimulation, adjustments (if you want, I get a simple one for my neck, but she mentioned that not all her clients want to get adjusted, some want more, some less), and cold laser therapy. Overall, her demeanor is professional and efficient, and the sessions are scheduled conveniently. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
