These guys, or their technicians anyway, started out AMAZING!!!! Since then complete 180 and…read moreripped off and ignored. I had them install and new HVAC system. It's gone out once a year (3 times now) since install. So far about 1k out of pocket for labor repairs for a "loose wire" .... The last time the tech did the wire repair, and charged 600 without authorizing the repair first, it's already fixed, here's the bill..... As soon as you get a service you get an automated text from the owner, saying please call if you have any questions or concerns.... Well this time I did, so I called, after 2 weeks of calling I finally got him on the phone. Basically said, "Hmmmn that does seem unusual, and the repair cost sounds way too high. Let me touch base with the tech and find out a little more info, then I'll call you back and try to figure it out from there. If nothing else, you were probably overcharged and we'll refund the difference." Well that was November, so I'm not thinking he'll be calling back... On top of that, I just went to check my filter to replace it..... the tech put it in backwards, it was about folded in half from trying to pass air through the wrong way this whole. May explain why our air flow seemed a little weak and our electric bill jumped 40%.... I would have kept on preaching on how good this company..... but no more..... STAY CLEAR!!!! Installation experience is questionable and the owner clearly gives two cents when there's an issue.

I have used Wingate for hvac, plumbing & now roofing. Lisa in the office is always very pleasant…read morewhen I call. James was friendly, professional & thorough in his evaluation of my roof leak. I had it repaired only 7 mo before by a local very well known roofing company that I found only guaranteed it for 90 days when I called back. James found the real problem quickly & came back out when the insurance adjuster arrived to advocate for my home. All their services are spot on & done well.

Just an update to the review posted about 18 mos. ago. In the thousands of dollars I spent with…read moreTarvin to have our plumbing issues resolved, we paid to have the plumbing beneath the sink repaired due to a leak. Needless to say, their repair hasn't held. The pvc piping they installed won't even stay together. It only held for a few months and then just came apart-- leaving us with having to have a bucket beneath the sink. I'm just frustrated enough to write this updated review now because I have to pay to have another plumber come out to fix their work. These people are predatory and unprofessional. Would not recommend. What would've been nice is if the owner of this plumbing company saw the invoice number on my receipt in the last post and tried to reach out-- but he didn't. Instead he implied that we didn't even have his company service my mother's home. Having integrity in your business -- owning a job and its result means something.

I woke up this morning, ( Jan 21 2025) and had no hot water coming from my sink faucet ... No water…read moreon the hot side at all. The overnight temps were below zero, the water supply is on the outside wall = frozen pipes. I called a number of local plumbers, and no one had anyone that could get to me quickly. Tarvin initially told me I would have to be a work in, understandably, I was not the first call for frozen pipes! Maybe 20 mins later, I received a call back from Tarvin and they told me a tech could meet me at my house in 45 mins. When the tech arrived (cannot remember his name), he told me they pulled him from his office duties for the day to take care of my issue. He was polite, friendly and got right to work. Within 15 mins he had the frozen line thawed, with no apparent leaks (fingers crossed). Polite, professional and reasonably priced. They also recommended a permanent fix for the freezing issue. Tarvin will be my 1st call for any future plumbing issues! Jeff H

Fast arrival and great work. Our guy Chris is awesome. Next day service for a broken garbage…read moredisposal and things were done professionally with a quote in advance and no surprises.

Look at all the other 1 star reviews for similar predatory prices…read more I have a simple shower valve replacement, the wall is already cut open in the room behind the shower. It's a matter of using wrenches to remove the old valve (4 pipes attached) and using wrenches and plumbers tape to put the new one on. Simple, but still not something I am confident enough to do myself (yet). Nixco sends a tech out, and quotes me over $1200. Let that sink in... $1200. No cutting, no drywall, should take maybe 30 minutes tops, unless some 'problem' is discovered. $1200 I think the tech knew as well, because as soon as I saw that, I chuckled and asked "What's involved in getting to that price?". He looked at the floor and quietly said "well, uh, that's just what the labor involved, uh..." I said, you can stop there, no thanks. I called Nixco just to half complain but also half give them a chance, like are you standing behind this quote? To which they gave me the typical "we'll pass it on to the service manager". I'm not using them again. I ran in to this kind of set up with Apollo. The quotes seem absurdly high, but also the tactics seem like that of old school used car salesmanship. He looks at the project, goes to his van for like 10 minutes, then comes back. He's likely calling in to someone that's guiding him on the price, and they are seeing what they can get away with. Or, and I'm just speculating here, the techs are getting some kind of commission on the overall price. There doesn't seem to be any drive to get the job done quick and efficient. I'm just scared for people that don't know any better that fall for this. I used Nixco on one other project, where the tech had to cut in to the wall, saw pipes, weld new pipes, and attach valves. So much more involved than this, and that job was under $900. he rationalized it to me that having to cut in to the drywall, cut/weld pipes, is more labor intensive and more complex, so I went with that. Compare to this job, which involves none of that, and it's $1200?! Don't use this company. ----- UPDATED ------ So, i'm responding to the response I got with the cost breakdown, and follow up from another local Cincinnati service below. "licensed and trained technicians": sure, goes in to the hourly rate, right? That's $400 per hour, correct? "quality materials designed for long-term reliability": what materials? Maybe a foot of copper and some solder? "proper installation methods (not temporary or shortcut fittings)": you charge extra for install things properly? what's a temporary install? duct tape? "warranty coverage": warranty on what? I bought the valve at another store, you're just installing it. if it's defective, that's not under your warranty is it? "insurance": sure, cost of doing business, but am i paying the whole monthly premium for this one job? "and the accountability of standing behind our work": Customers have to pay extra for this? How about, do a good job, and make people happy. If you made a mistake that requires follow up, do that, at no cost. Don't heavily pad the bill in case you make a mistake and have to fix it. FOLLOW UP on the project: I found Russell Plumbing Inc. (513-561-2804), and they were great. It wasn't an emergency, but they said it's a relatively small job, and could squeeze me in early. Came out about 830am the next day, done by around 1030am. $275. Nice people, didn't disappear in their truck for 20 minutes to work up a quote like a used-car salesman, got it installed, cleaned up, and moved on. Give them a call! I'll write them a great review as well.
