I hired Aquatic Marine to install and setup a tank in my home and was promised "magazine quality". Nearly a year later, we weren't close. I became frustrated with the tank when there was no end in sight, the work was chaotic, scheduling was near impossible, and I discovered that even after paying for routine maintenance none of my equipment had been properly maintained. I decided it would be easier to just start over with a smaller tank, so I gifted my larger tank to the owner, Kinny Parrott, and purchased a much smaller tank that I thought would be easier for them to actually finish and gave them a chance to live up to what they had promised. He and his service manager agreed with no hesitation to store my equipment and livestock until the new tank was cycled and ready to be setup. Instead, they misplaced half my livestock and his service manager came by one evening without any notice and dropped the rest of my fish into the tank before it was cycled and my gem tang and yellow tang both ended up dying. I sought out help from the store to try and save the rest of my fish, and an hour later, received a call from Kinny stating he was firing me because I was bad-mouthing him to his employees which was not the case. He lacks professional courtesy and the skills to deal with any sort of conflict and is one-sided in his beliefs. His communication style is quite aggressive and dismissive, which makes it hard to have an open and honest conversation with him. He proceeded to yell at me and told me that they would not be doing my install anymore and he was not going to return any of my equipment. He threatened us with attorneys and blamed me for being "too hands on with my tank" and said I had unrealistic expectations. He yelled at me on 2 different occasions using me as a scapegoat for both his personal and business issues and never offered an apology for unleashing on me. For months, he had told me that his service manager was overloaded, overworked, and on the verge of burnout and promised changes that never came. When our relationship ended, I was left feeling like their internal problems were passed onto me and I was fired as a result. When I got upset over being fired for no reason and him holding my equipment hostage, I got mad and Kinny proceeded to tell my wife that I must be bipolar. He finally agreed to return a fraction of my equipment after a battle, and several parts were still missing. He still has thousands of dollars worth of my equipment in his possession not including the tank. After gifting him a new tank, purchasing another tank without asking for any sort of discount, and spending thousands of dollars at his store, I was left feeling incredibly taken advantage of. I could go on and on about the customer service, problems that occurred during our time together, and retracted promises, but am hopeful that this brief glimpse into my experience will help prevent someone else from being lied to and taken advantage of. I had been warned about getting involved with Aquatic Marine, and looking back, I wish I had heeded the advice. read more

Great store with a great staff. This is one of our favorite aquarium stores ANYWHERE. The selection is good, prices decent, and staff is excellent. They are very knowledgeable about both fresh and saltwater aquariums and fish. VERY helpful, too- And not nearly as pretentious as the staff in a lot of stores. This is one of the few stores that my wife and I both feel comfortable asking questions in- Unlike a lot of places, they are patient with beginners... Some people realize that not EVERYONE is an expert, and that, at one time, they didn't know everything! Livestock is healthy and well cared for. I would not hesitate to buy from them. They have an excellent selection of Corals- Just about anything you would want. And- The advice to go with it! They've got several display tanks there that show the potential for your own tank- In fact, we're using one of their tanks as an inspiration for what we want to do with our own reef tank. A totally new place with new owners. I stopped going there before because the people that was there was extremely rude and didn't know a thing about treating customers very badly. I have been so embarrassed because I had sent several people there to get things and they got back to me and said they would never go back because of how they were treated and I felt bad because I sent them there. But now the new owners have made it to where I can go back there. I had always liked the store and hated not being able to go there. I had a great talk with the new owner when I went back into the store and had my mind changed for the good. They are making great changes and making a better store. If you had been ran away from this place before because of the old owners then give them another chance and you will be happy. read more

We spent over an hour in the store with our kids. We tried to gain as much knowledge as we could on the fish we chose. The guy had to keep googling our questions because he didn't know. We purchased 8 fish. After 4 days 3 of them have died. We purchased the food they told us the fish had been used to, we spent almost $100 that day on fish and food. We called to ask about the fish and get a solution on what we might be doing wrong. (We set up the tank 4 weeks in advance and our water was correct, had a heater and a filter.) and the man was VERY rude. Told my fiancé "this isn't petco we don't give you 30 days to return dead fish" with the most attitude you could imagine. We went out of our way and drove over 30min to get to this shop instead of going to a PetSmart near our home. Needless to say, we regret it and will be replacing the fish from PetSmart. I would not recommend this shop at all. read more

Awesome store and staff. We bought our biocube from them at a great discount and they have walked us through every step. The fish and coral have been healthy and done really well. We appreciate that they give us a more personal experience and are very friendly. We just have not had that customer service from the bigger store on Papermill. The prices are better as well.
