We were a group of six and the only ones there, so we got to enjoy a seriously talented acoustic guitarist and had lots of help from the employee. It was such a nice evening - the music was lovely, and painting was much more relaxing than I expected. I haven't been to a place like this since I was a kid, so I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I liked that in addition to lots of paint colors there other ways to enhance your item - stamps, tape, stencils, etc. The staff member gave just the right amount of help - she was always there to answer questions when we had them but also gave us plenty of freedom to play around with everything. We ended up staying for almost two hours and had such a great time. I will absolutely be adding this to my list of places to take out of town guests, and I can't wait to pick up our finished items!

The event was well organized, as the canvas/paints/brushes/smocks are all provided. The activity itself was SO much fun! We ate pizza, sipped on wine and paint to our heart's content! Even though we had a large party of about 30 painters, the instructors, Anna, came around and helped me several times, even showing me what I needed to do and offering feedback. She was supportive and helpful. Despite my dreadful painting, I LOVED my experience with Art with Anna. I especially loved that the money raised went to support cancer research at the James.

My niece has been taking art camp classes here for a little over a year and she loves it! I am not an artist and don't consider myself creative, so I was a bit nervous, but it turned out just fine. You can book and pay online, after choosing the day by whatever painting you want to create. All you need to bring is your own wine; they have available corkscrews and stemless glasses. Lisa is an incredible instructor and guides you through the entire process step by step until the painting is complete. We decided which painting we wanted to paint prior to the class. When we arrived our easels were ready with a blank canvas along with all the supplies we needed to paint the picture. It's very important to arrive on time so no steps are missed. We did have a few ladies that did arrive a little late but they were able to catch up. If you want to bring snacks and drinks, you are able to do so. Everyone left with a beautiful painting that they didn't think they could paint. I highly recommend this business and plan to return on my own.

They also double as a small gallery with some beautiful art, one of the rare sellers of originals outside of the downtown and surrounding neighborhoods. They feature many local and national artists here at their small gallery in the shopping center Reed and Henderson. Susan (I think her name is) is the owner and gives upstanding customer service. You can tell from the start she really cares for doing a high quality job, helping you through the process selecting frames and mattings. She and her team look at framing as if it were an art form itself, often providing more than you expected. A few years ago I had a signed Ted Ginn Jr picture that I thought would benefited from better framing than what my poor skills and cheap drug store frame could provide. I expected something a little better but what came out was amazing. They took my needs seriously and came up with a nice display that augmented my collectable into something worthy of hanging in my home. They take great care in framing anything, from antique maps, fine art, or even a cherished poster. The prices of course vary from style, size, and shape--it can be a little expensive compared to do-it-yourself with an Odd Lots frame, but the result is well worth the expertise you pay for. I've purchased a few small painting and prints here before too. For a small space the art here can be diverse and striking. Featured here my last visit was P. Buckley Moss whose paintings are whimsical landscapes and still lifes, Takmaj and her bloaty beautiful colors of cityscapes, Renee Bovet 's Van Gogh-ish rendering of place, and Laurie VanBalen's awesome Impressionistic oils among other talented artist. Glass art is sold here too. Jewelry found here includes necklaces, wrist bands, and earrings. I did not notice any rings or ankle braces for those wondering, but I think I've seen them here before. I highly recommend this shop if you have valuables, collectables, art or anything of sentimental value you want to hang.
