I have been to Neon Jamon three times and I enjoy it more and more every time I go. The whole concept is just so beautifully simple and effective. Pick a few small plates and either a bottle of fizz, a jug of sangria, a glass of sherry from their impressive selection or a Spanish beer and enjoy! It gives the whole tapas thing just a touch more class - I love it! The menu is extensive but not complicated and doesn't patronise the customer by veering from proper, traditional Spanish cuisine into 'tapas light' as I would call it and as many tapas chain restaurants do. The building itself is small and cosy without being pokey and lovely if you don't mind a bit of a chat with the people on the next table or at the window bar/tall stool area (my favourite place to sit). The staff are always friendly and seem genuinely excited about the menu which is always refreshing. Neon Jamon really is a great place to go for a fun, relaxed night and to enjoy really fabulous food with the extra glamour of fizz - what's not to love?! P.S. We managed to come here on a late Sunday afternoon before our drive back home. Neon Jamón offers a modern twist to tapas as well generous portions. Food was prepared very well, having much flavor in each bite. We particularly enjoyed the clams and ribs! We couldn't resist having dessert and we ordered the churros and Nutella cheesecake which were simply scrumptious. This location is a bit smaller than the other branch but they have some booths upstairs. We highly recommend this restaurant and will try to come again when we're back in Liverpool!

US Food Store Express is a strangely sad place, a bright, sparse arrangement of shelves that will never be able to contend with the nearby Asda, the closer Aldi or even the local newsagents. My friend found some maize meal here which she's been looking for so she can make corn tortillas. I guess it's really hard to find that around here. It was a really big bag only priced at £`1.99. Mmmm. I'm waiting for her to make me some tortillas now. I had a hunt around for Mountain Dew as apparently a lot of ethnic food shops carry it, but I didn't find any. Sigh. Huge arms, a friendly demeanor, jovial facial hair, he's like one of those mannequins you find in the countryside. Butcher shops are the kind of things that appear to be disappearing as great, bloated supermarkets blight high streets up and down Britain. The butcher himself, as a previous reviewer said, is exactly how you would envision him to be; well built, friendly and with ample facial hair. He's a lovely man who really makes you feel welcome. They have a wide range of meats available and the produce is always of an excellent quality, much better than the prepacked supermarket produce. The butcher is always happy to suggest or explain something to you. This is an excellent shop with a real community feel about it. Long may it remain.
