We needed to get approval from our HOA prior to starting the project. We booked Sal's Painting for four weeks out. The HOA surprised us and gave approval in two short weeks. We contacted Josue and he said he would adjust his team to start earlier. We selected our paint from Dunn Edwards. The entire experience was great, the outside was steam washed. I accommodated Joseph's schedule for next day (I believe he is the owners husband) and availability for the walkthrough. After the visit, I spent additional time sending detailed follow-up information including photos, window and door counts, inspiration photos, paint specifications, HOA guidance, and the exact paint systems and brands we wanted to use for both the home and roof. Despite all of that effort and communication on my end, I never received a quote. We are almost 1month after the walkthrough I followed up multiple times through text, and each time there was another delay or excuse. What was especially off-putting was the response I received after sharing the research and paint systems I wanted to use, instead of a professional discussion, the interaction came across dismissive and somewhat condescending. See screenshot. Either they prefer working with customers who are clueless... that's a red flag or can't believe a customer is knowledgeable. As a women-owned business, I genuinely wanted to support another local business and was excited to potentially work together. After postponing my project by a few days, he arrived and, while preparing to start, told me the price he originally quoted wasn't correct. He claimed we had only agreed to stain one patio post (my patio cover has three posts) and do a small touch-up on one panel of the side gates. That made no sense to me--who would hire someone to stain just one post and one gate panel while leaving everything else unfinished? He was at my home for five days, but only one of those days was a full workday. On the other days, he worked no more than about four hours. My security cameras confirm the amount of time spent on the job. I had originally planned to hire Raul for an interior wallpaper project as well, but after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable doing so. Unfortunately, I won't be using him again or recommending his services. The reality is I paid him way too much for the job and I take full responsibility for not asking him to leave day one instead I agreed to pay him more money (a lot double what we agreed too) and still the gates and patio were done in pieces!!

After a couple days he demanded another 3000 and threatened that he will stop the project if we don't pay it. Since we had already paid 2000 we were forced to complete the project with him. Additionally, he promised to complete the work in 10 days and took 30 days. He took multiple projects and slowed our project. I was hoping the quality of the work will be good. But there too the work is very shoddy. They never really do 2 coats of paint. They only do 1 coat. Additionally, they totally skipped one back wall. I only found out after the projet was completed and he refused to complete it. When I texted him, he said do it yourself. See attached photo. I would stay away from this contractor.
