Great visit. They processed my name change quickly and professionally. I had sent the form in but they needed to reprint my card so Leslie called me and let me know. I appreciated that. The sheriff's office is located in an easy accessible location and has plenty of parking. The coroners office is to the left of the main building. Upon entering you need to screen your bags and purses, then head through the metal detector. The gentleman checking me in today was very kind and explained the logistics of where I need to go and what I needed to do to process my CCHP. The intake person behind the information counter was very nice and she explained the nexts steps , making sure my name was correct on all my paper work that I brought in. She checked my ID. I then sat and waited for about 5 minutes until 2 officers took me back into the processing office where they took my paper work , payment , photo , finger prints. Very easy going and funny Officers. They explained the 90 day waiting process ( permits are backed up right now as of 5/2021) said they will call me when things are ready. That whole process took about another 5 minutes as well. I have to say that I feel things went completely smooth. read more

On Weds Oct 7, 2020 the Arapahoe County Sheriffs deputies caught and arrested a car thief suspect in my backyard. It all happened very professionally and quickly. I watched as he was arrested and handcuffed on my lawn. The Deputies were very respectful and did nothing to harm the suspect. I did not see him being mistreated at all. They were very respectful of my property as well. From my perspective they did a 100% perfect job. read more

Went in to renew my conceal carry and was immediately helped and out the door in 20 min. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.

I expected to be interrogated forever under bright lights in a dark room but was in and out in a breeze. Application for CCWP is best on Wednesday or Thursday late afternoon. The staff is very courteous from the guard at the front door to the lady at the information desk and the staff who helped with my application. Honestly I expected to wait forever, you know, like the DMV, but this was just the opposite. High five! read more

I have literally never had such bad luck with police, but the sheriff department made me throw salt over my shoulder. I moved to this area two years ago, first time in and living in Colorado after rave reviews from relatives. My first instance was a routine traffic ticket. I wasn't wearing my seatbelt and my roommate at the time drove past an officer and stopped us (NBD) I politely asked the officer about the stop, as I was the passenger. He proceeded to make the stop about me, ran my credentials and called me a jackass. I knew the stop was my fault but his tone was loud and aggressive. He made it seem as I had pulled him over while calmly talking to the driver. " thanks a lot jackass" he said before walking off. Strike two, I was a victim of fraud and my name was being used in a real estate scam without my knowledge or permission, I called and was told no crime was committed, I almost threw up. Lastly, my apartment was felony vandalized resulting in me scavenging to avoid homelessness. I was threatened with violence and there was over 2500 in final costs After a drawn out process they told me to shut the case because "they couldn't protect me if I wanted to press charges" and instructed that if I busted up someone's house who I'm staying with that I couldn't be criminally liable. The worst part is they recognized the suspect. I just don't understand. Maybe I'm the problem. read more

Called to ask an informational question and was told that a deputy would call me back. I expected at least a two hour window as the issue was not critical. Stepped out to walk the dog and within 5 minutes a deputy called and spoke with my wife. Within minutes of returning home a deputy was at the door. Extremely professional and courteous, she answered every question and offered suggestions and alternative directions for us to pursue to resolve our irksome issue with neighboring business. My wife and I spent about an hour at the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office today and I would like to give a shout out to them. We were there to apply for a CWP. Everyone was courteous, friendly and respectful. I expected to be treated with disrespect and suspicion but the exact opposite was true. This was true for all three people that we dealt with and they all told us to be safe out there. We responded in kind telling them to be safe out there. I would like to take another moment to tell all our men and women in uniform to be safe out there and thank them for their hard work and dedication to keeping us safe. They have a tough job and my wife and I appreciate them more than words can describe. read more

Captain OKelly here. I had the same experience at ACSD as others. They were friendly and nice. I applied for my CCW permit. There were a lot of us so the wait was about 75 minutes but they were not dragging their feet. Quite the opposite. Everyone was working fast and efficient. Thank you! read more
