I went here for a procedure in mid July of this year. They called me before my appointment to tell me my "responsibility", however, not only did they fail to mention that they were going to use an out of network anesthesiologist, but, they called me 3 times & gave me 2 different amounts 2 out of the 3 phone calls. They also required that I set up a payment arrangement in order to keep my appointment, but, they would not allow me to make a payment arrangement for any longer than 3 months & I also had to bring a down payment on the day of my procedure. It was a 20 minute procedure. I ended up filing an appeal with my insurance company, for the out of network anesthesiologist & ultimately won, due to them calling ahead of time to tell me my responsibility, my setting up a payment arrangement ahead of time & never being made aware of the out of network anesthesiologist. I made the down payment, as well as the first payment, as agreed, then I ended up in the hospital & have had ongoing health issues ever since. I called their billing office in September & spoke to Mercedes, who was great, she adjusted my payment arrangement no problem & told me that if I needed to adjust it for the next month (October), just to call back & let them know. At the beginning of October I received a call from a different individual who demanded that I give them a new payment arrangement because they were not going to let me pay $25 again that month. I informed her that I was in the hospital, have had ongoing health issues & am on short term disability, that I would call to set up a new payment arrangement as soon as I could. They proceeded to call me everyday after that. When I called them back to let them know, again, what my current situation is & that I would call in January 2018 to set up a new payment arrangement, as I am going back to work at the end of December, I was informed that if they did not receive a payment by December 20th they would be sending me to collections, even though I had been communicating with them on a monthly basis & had been making payments, I asked for a supervisor to call me back & have not received that phone call. It's terrible that they are a healthcare provider who #1 do not inform their patients correctly of their responsibility, #2 do not use providers that are covered by my insurance & #3 do not care that not only have I been calling consistently communicating with them & have made payments, until I ended up in the hospital. I am grateful that I will never have to use them again & I do not suggest anyone go here, their billing department is terrible & needs to get it together! The only positive thing that I will say is that the staff at the Endoscopy Center itself, where procedures are actually performed, were great. The billing office is the complete polar opposite of the medical center itself so patients beware! read more
