I was in Denver recently, visiting my family, and I saw this market as I was driving around. Having been to several excellent Arab markets in the Dallas area, where I live, I thought I would take a look. I was quite impressed! Meats and cheeses were abundant at the counter; there was a good variety of typical Middle Eastern products and some products I had not seen before. Prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. The place was crowded and I was one of the few people there who did not speak Arabic. That's a good sign! It means that Arash fulfills a cultural need. I'll be sure to go back to Arash when I next come to Denver. read more

Screams wonderful international market. Geared towards the middle eastern palate this place makes me nostalgic of my childhood. My parents think the prices are reasonable so I guess I will trust them on that. Their halal butcher is great. Whether it's camel milk or saffron milk ice cream or lamb tallow. It's a little far from where I live but if I want to revisit my culinary culture this is the place to visit. Stopped in for some olives and French feta because they have the best quality and at such reasonable prices. I've also started purchasing their halal "jello" products that are really good with lots of flavor options. I always enjoy their produce selections for the in-season fruits and vegetables. I always buy halal meat from here. And from time to time I also grab fresh produce. It gets busy on Friday- Saturday for sure but it is popular because they have consistent inventory of meat. It is clean and fresh smelling here and that is why I prefer it. Some places have a terrible smell on the meat department but not Arash. So I've been coming to Arash since I was a kid. My dad is Iranian and this is where we would come for all of our needs. I go in there quite a bit to get meat and last time I was here the deli manager was extremely rude because I asked for certain steaks from their deli counter. I totally understand, not being able to choose your own ground beef or diced up pieces of meat, but when it comes to steak, if you have a deli style counter with people behind the counter, shouldn't it be their job to let you choose what stakes you want? I'm not asking them to repackage steaks that are already packaged. The steaks that I like to buy or T-bones. Every time I go in there, they have one section of T-bone steaks and lot of the time rather than it being a T-bone steak. It is a bone in New York strip steak, which is not what I'm looking for. I tried to explain that to the person at the deli counter and the answer I get it. It's not my problem. I don't care you get what you get, which is very unnecessary. The fact that I have been shopping there my entire life and the fact that I go in looking for T-bone steaks in hopes that I can select the ones that I'd like out of the deli counter to get a response like that is that for business and not a good look. The little person guy with the gold necklace and white hair is very brave to talk to customers that way. I could understand if I was asking them to do crazy amounts of work to pull the steak out of the case but all they're doing is having to pull out the tray and grab a steak rather than just grab whatever is closest to them. I am very disappointed in the service and honestly disgusted with the guys behind the deli counter. I would love an opportunity to speak with the owner because the little bulk guy manager is not very friendly either. I hope that this can be resolved so I can put up a good review for a business that I've supported for over 20 years. When you advertise T-bone, it should be a T-bone not a bone in New York if it's just bone in New York great but those should be separated, not both in the same column. Today's busy was disgusting with the way that the gold chain wearing Persian guy talk to me because I go in there and talk to them with nothing but respect and when I get disrespected like that, it's not a good feeling and makes me want to match their energy which is unfortunate. Again, I hope that Arash or somebody would talk to these guys because everything in their counter is all the same. The only one thing they have that they might have to let somebody select is their steaks and for that to be such a problem for the guys behind the counter is just pure laziness and terrible for business. read more

Great spot to find Persian/Iranian food. They had a great selection of products, and I especially enjoyed their good prices and friendly staff. The frozen section offers great frozen ghormeh sabzi, khoresh gheymeh, and khoresh karafs (note they do not come with rice). FYI parking lot is tight so be careful where you park. read more

Was my first time shopping here, I was very excited about it and pleased with my results and findings ; although a Few days later we discovered one of the fruits I had bought was damaged, and the return was one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered in a grocery store. I can't visit this market as often as I'd like since I live on the opposite side of town but it is my go to place for Mediterranean staples. I buy the spices I want here (not available at regular groceries) as well as breads and vegetables. How nice to find a dozen different kinds of pita bread! Bait and switch advertising! Bought some items today, totaling almost $100. Didn't seem right. Double checked, the mixed nuts showed $4.49 on the shelf tag, vit scanned double the price at $9.99 each. The manager, Phaim or something like that, said it was a mistake and said he would return the two bags of nuts. I double checked with him that he was not going to honor the price shown (it was not just the particlar nuts I bought, the entire shelf was showing $4.49 through $6.29. Not an expired sale or something either. So, I said in that case, return everything. He rudely started the return of everything. When I told this this was not an honest business model, he said they were honest and called me petty. I thought I did not hear well because I could not believe such rudeness, disrespect, and arrogance on the part of a service provider. He confirmed, saying "yes, I called you petty because you are returning everything." I pulled my phone and started recording and asking him to verify that he called the customer petty. He said yes I called you petty. I told him he is on video, he said "I don't care." Unbelievable Not really. I checked other 1 star reviewes, and they are consistent on rudeness and lack of customer service. Go to Royal Gourmet on Hampden. You'll find a lot of the items there also and excellent customer sevice. Also, many of the items can be found on Amazon at a lower price, including these nuts. One star rating is because: 1. Grade B fruit, and some vegetables. 2. Many canned items do not have expiration dates. 3. Totally filthy and unsanitary restrooms, and out of hand soap, papers, etc. 4. Finally, they are always out of stock on some items. We made three trips in different days of the week there, and all the three times they were out of stock on the same items. When we brought it to the owner's attention, he became very defensive, and told us that we should time our future purchases based on their delivery dates, not when it is convenient for us! The delivery dates are on Thursdays, so if you go there on Fridays, they will probably be out of many items! They can easily remedy this problem by ordering more or more often. When we suggested that to the owner, Mehran, again he became very defensive and started shouting at us that once he ordered more items and a couple of customers return the pastries due to staleness. So, in order not to lose couple of items, he is losing many sales because he is constantly out of stock! Very illogical argument! One figures that out of many years of doing business in this country, Mehran should tailor his business to what is normal here and not to be afraid to get a couple of returns! This place used to be good back when they first started and I have been a supporter for many years. Now the place feels unwelcoming and the help doesn't give a shit. They are rude and don't look happy to be there. Lately it's the feeling I get every time I am there. On my most recent visit there were three helpers behind me the counter for cheeses, olive, dates etc.. One playing with his phone and two on the opposite end talking and saw me but none stepped up to help me. So as not to make a scene, I waited until the dude on the phone finished watching his ticktock or instagram reels. Right there and then I decided I am done with this place. I love Arash. I've only been here twice but it's already one of my favorite small markets. Yes, the parking lot is small and prone to traffic jams, but it's a small price to pay for the Middle Eastern/Greek goodies you'll find. Highlights include Greek feta for $3.69/lb (Sprouts has the same Greek feta for $6.99/lb), ginger root for .99/lb ($3.99 at Sprouts), countless varieties of pita and lavash, olives, ready-made falafel, and locally made hummus & baba ghanoush. The produce prices are great. All of the employees are so friendly. I walked up to the meat counter and was just browsing, but was quickly asked by two separate people if I needed help. A bit later, I was at one of the dried fruit baskets, scooping out the dried orange rinds (sounds weird, but they're delicious). The scoop was large and I was having trouble isolating the orange rinds. One of the employees noticed this and offered me a box of plastic gloves to make it easier. While the products here are fantastic, the helpful, friendly service makes it an even better experience. Arash, You have been my favorite HALAL store for awhile now.. please maintain that way, pretty please... My recent visit with Hubs was on Thursday February 21st 2013. Needed to get some Lamb. Unfortunately they dont have the cuts that I want, but I still get some stuffs for the ingredients I need for the upcoming POTLUCK that weekend. From Ground Beef, to Mixed Lamb Pieces and Lamb Sirloin and some of the produce I tried to get all the ingredients at Arash... Then I also found several Frozen Pizzas, though only at the check-out I knew the price... Oh Well.. I also notice at the frozen aisle, they have OXTAIL and BEEF FEET.... Hmmm perhaps shall return next time and see whether I can get deals for these items.. The store is always kept clean. The items are always stocked up. The salesperson behind the Poultry/Meat counter and the rest of the staffs are always please to assist you and they are always welcoming. The only qualm I have is the parking space outside Arash. The day we were there, its packed.. so make sure, park properly and give way to other drivers coz things can happen in which it nearly did that evening... Coming from Chicago and having access to a lot of middle eastern and Persian marketplaces, I would say Arash is lacking- mostly due to the terrible service and treatment of their customers. My family has visited this store on numerous occasions over the past two years and each time we are met with very rude service at the cashier. The cashier woman is very angry at the world. Angry that we are shopping and spending money. It baffles me that the owner has done nothing to address this issue, as we can see that there are numerous reviews that have mentioned this hostility and rudeness. After seeing the other reviews mentioning the cashiers name, Elnaz, I checked my receipt and she was the woman working the cashier on my recent trip too. In addition, after seeing others complain about this store wrongfully charging them, I looked over my receipt and noticed TWO items were charged twice. I was charged almost $20 extra. This is a very shady business, and I'm betting that those double charges were indeed intentional. I will not be back, this business lacks integrity. Since I live on the western slope I have to stock up on my Persian ingredients when I visit the front range. It's smaller and more expensive than other ethnic markets I've been to, but I am grateful to get my 40 lb bag of basmati here. Their deli has a wonderful selection of olives, cheeses and dates. I live in the mountain community of Colorado. When I come to Denver, I ALWAYS shop at Arash. I shop for my community as well. In the recent months there is this level of entitlement by the employees of the store. There is minimalistic customer service. When a question is asked, the response is trite and simply put - RUDE! Is it because you feel you have the market and clientele established and no need to worry? Well my friends, that can change. People visit establishment not only for quality of goods, but also services - as is customer service, that sets you apart from the rest. Please do not use COVID as a stance. Amazing olive and feta selection, great prices on herbs and pomegranates. Service is New York friendly, but they are ALWAYS packed and very busy.
