I'm sure masks make it hard to understand each other, but the whole interaction felt awkward and not very welcoming. Later a local family that this employee knew came in, and she was very nice warm to them, so I guess she just didn't want to warm up to me. My husband said the other employee was helpful & friendly. Tucked in the back of the store is a small restaurant with a full menu and let me tell you... their tacos are everything. They are always fresh, full of flavor and served with grilled onions and a roasted pepper on the side which I love. Honestly, they are definitely top three when it comes to tacos in Racine. What makes the spot even more special is how much more it offers beyond the restaurant. They are actually a small grocery/corner store as well. In addition to having a small restaurant in the back they are also a little paleteria (ice cream shop) so you can grab a refreshing popsicle or ice cream (perfect after a taco) and if you're in the mood for street corn they have those too (also one of the best in Racine). Whether I'm swinging by for a quick taco or elote fix or picking up a mangonada from their little paleteria window... I always leave happy. Friendly service, great food, and the authentic welcoming vibe keeps me coming back. Highly recommend!
