Dan leans on real-world experiences and scenarios that have played for a much more practical approach, rather than endless "what-if scenarios". The class I attended was small in participants, so it gave a more personal feel rather than a large class that could feel generic. That is until I saw a free seminar Dan put together to inform people on how to obtain one. So I attended the meeting and later signed up for his CCW course after feeling very informed about the process. Dan I found out is a 20 year veteran who instructs Marines in live fire training, if that doesn't instill trust I don't know what does. Our original date for the written and the firearm qualification was put on hold until quarantine orders were eased, so Dan came up with a solution to do virtual online classes and then when the range opened again he set up a date to go to Camp Pendleton to take our written test and the shooting qualification. We wore masks and practiced social distancing which put us at ease during this strange time. I was so nervous about both tests and Dan assured all of us that we had nothing to worry about. After all was said and done he was right, there was nothing to be nervous about at all. Dan made the entire process very easy to understand, he went over all the topics for the written test, explained the shooting drills and answered any questions we had. The length of the class is based the completion of each segment of the class, not a precise end time to ensure everyone is comfortable with their understanding and practice before they leave. The 201 class take the leasons learned from the 101 class for safety, precision out to the range. If you thought these guys were great trainers in the first class, this is where they excel. This is not were magazines are just unloaded into random targets. Every shot is analyzed, scored and coached by these experts. Each person is once again given individual attention and thoughtful critiques for your continued improvement. Not only did they provide the necessary guidance for safety and successful operation of hand guns, they did so in a manner that was enjoyable. If you take this seriously this is the right class to take. You'll end up drawing from holster 50+ times to get real muscle memory which other classes don't even draw from holster (THATS THE WHOLE POINT RIGHT?!?) aside from the solid serious and safe approach they also take the time to have fun when appropriate to do so.
