I decided it was time to get a primary Dr in Austin instead of in my home town. I did some research…read moreand ultimately chose Dr Wolf because she was an internist and was on ARC's rising star list. I went to the appointment and met with her nurse. I don't remember her name, but she was super nice. I waited maybe 5 minutes in the room - overall wait time was around 15 minutes (arrival to Dr time) - and Dr Wolf was super easy to talk to. I went over my concerns and she addressed everything in a very easy to understand manner. She asked that I do some bloodwork and things, which I did the next morning. Within a few hours, her nurse had called me about an abnormal result and they walked me through that process. Definitely like Dr Wolf and have referred a few of my friends that recently moved here to her! Appointments seemed easy enough to make. I got in within a week, but I didn't have anything really going on like a cold or something. Most Dr's like that will squeeze you in if you needed to be seen quicker, but I haven't had to do that at her office yet. Anyways, I was satisfied with getting in to see her in a week for what I had going on.

This past year was a tough one medically and with losses in my family, and she and her staff have listened to me, referred me to appropriate specialists and understood my own need to advocate for my care and methods of treatments. She has been my primary care person and her staff has always treated me with respect, gotten back to me in timely ways and used caring and compassion. Now that I have seen more doctors in Austin and am aware that they all see huge numbers of patients I am more appreciative of the kindness and professionalism of Dr. Wolf and this practice. She has coordinated my care but it has always felt like a partnership through a tough year. She rocks!

It took them 13 business days (M-F) - otherwise known as 2.5 WEEKS to respond back to me. And I had sent TWO follow up messages after my initial message because of how long it was taking for them to respond. The portal message center says allow UP to 5 days for a response. Fine, I did! But almost 3 weeks for ONE response!?? Freaking ridiculous. The person who I've been messaging is "MA Tierra A". Awful. Slow. And selectively picks what to respond to so you have to ask again for the other answers and it takes weeks and weeks to hear back. I'm in the process of finding a new doctor. This whole situation has put a bad taste in my mouth. They were so so to start off with, but their communication is god awful and slow as all heck.

I guess he was busy, being an doctor doing an urgent care rotation during flu season and all, but I definitely felt like just another body he wanted to get out the door to make way for the next one.

After the humiliation, degradation and expense of going thru that, his office lost my lab results and I was never provided with any of the results. or refunded my cost. Another time I was 3 days late for my shot and he insisted I take a pregnancy test first even though I had not had sex in over a month and there was NO WAY I was pregnant. I asked about taking a medication to lower my high cholesterol. I donate blood and had results from the Blood Center of Central Texas. Their doctors' results weren't good enough for him and he insisted I take more blood tests there before even considering treatment. Basically he's a (*&%$) with poor bedside manners and his main agenda seems to be ordering unnecessary tests to rack up the expense. I don't have health insurance and can't afford his method of Bogusness. No wonder people can't afford insurance nowadays with Dr.'s like him cranking up the bill unnecessarily. Oh and last but not least, he referred me to another Dr. for my condition who turned out to be a pediatrition at Dell Children's Center. Perhaps after practicing for 25 years he should consider retirement. Can any one say QUACK?

I really like Dr. Crear and some of the PAs so it's a shame that the messaging service is not held to a high standard. Honestly, it's like talking to a child...but one who clearly uses AI to polish their grammar. The level of incompetence - with incorrect prescriptions called in and incorrect information relayed - is concerning. I hope they don't have these medical assistants completing tasks that require common sense, like relaying important test results. I know practices are trying to increase profits, especially those practices that are owned by private equity (which this place may be--IDK). But please consider your patients. Don't run a competent practice into the ground by having these assistants do what medical professionals should be doing. Employ some actual nurses to answer patient questions for god's sake, not just "medical assistants."

I've had other doctors in other cities, but no one came close to Dr. Kravitz's knowledge (26+ years of practice), professional demeanor, and personability. He is knowledgeable on so many topics, and I know I'm able to ask him anything. And you know what? He listens. It's that simple. He sets your chart down, he looks at you, and he listens. Some doctors are just so harried they don't take the time to really let you explain what's happening or how you feel. It really does make the difference. We forget how important it is for a doctor to relate to his patients. I've seen doctors who have been cold, indifferent, uninterested in anything except performing an examination or treating whatever was wrong at the time. Sure, that's fine, but it's the bare minimum; it doesn't set me at ease. When I'm sick, and I'm concerned, Dr. Kravitz demonstrates a level of empathy I've yet to see in another doctor. It also helps he has a sense of humor! Even if he does not accept my insurance, I would only want to have him as my primary care physician. He's known me for years, and knows my medical history better than anyone. I hope to stick with him as long as I can. If you are looking for a new doctor in the area, you will NOT be disappointed. However, over the last couple of years, I've noticed a declining trend in quality of healthcare and front office professionalism; wherein, the nurse practitioner held the notion that Diabetes was curable. Since my A1C was in check, she would no longer prescribe the medication that had been keeping it in check. It was not a pleasant experience getting this escalated to Dr. John's attention. When finally that occurred, Dr. John immediately requested a refill for the prescription med, yet made no mention of the NP's error - or that she would be re-trained. Over the years, his office staff deteriorated, particularly his wife - who clearly rules the roost with autocratic rudeness. While I'm grateful for the decades of great medical care I received from Dr. John, I'm happy to see him retire - and hopefully his wife as well, such that patients can receive the awesome care once delivered by Dr. Paul John, MD.

This was one of the most disheartening and discouraging healthcare experiences I've ever had -- and what makes it worse is that it was my first time seeking help for my mental health in over 15 years. I grew up in an environment where asking for help -- especially when it came to medication for mental health -- was seen as a weakness. So it took everything in me to finally overcome that and make an appointment. After a particularly overwhelming six months, I built up the courage to be honest about what I was struggling with and what had worked for me in the past. I wasn't demanding anything -- I was simply trying to communicate openly, hoping for a supportive and respectful conversation about my care. Instead, I was met with judgment and ultimately rejection by Harley Berning. She initially prescribed me a lower dose of the medication I mentioned -- no concerns or hesitation. But after I followed up with a message asking if this was the right plan going forward, everything changed. My prescription was suddenly revoked after it had already been sent in and paid for, and I was told she could no longer continue my care. It felt like I was being punished for being honest. I was mischaracterized, dismissed, and made to feel like I had done something wrong just for asking questions and advocating for myself. That kind of distrust -- especially when someone is finally trying to seek help after years of struggling -- is incredibly damaging. This experience didn't just shake my trust in one provider. It made me question whether I should have ever reached out in the first place. And I imagine I'm not the only one who's walked away from One Medical feeling like this. If you're someone who's anxious, vulnerable, or trying to overcome the stigma of getting mental health care -- be careful. This place is a bit hard to find so start early. It's a bit of a repurposed house. The front desk is super nice especially Paul, and the payment was quick and easy. So, here comes the large part of the review: Dr. Erica Swegler. As you can tell from my star rating I thought she was good. She was very quick and too the point, which I see one people may be put off by, but really though. People are complaining that clinics can't get to people on time or doctors leave in a rush. There is no happy medium. Dr. Swegler tries to get people in and out and try to get to the bottom of things as fast as possible with ample care and evidence. Her words may be a tad bit brusque, but she gets to the point. As for people who read WebMD and think they know everything, then complain about doctors correcting them... Really? You pay them to tell you what's wrong. There is a sense of professionalism that you're undermining by completely ignoring professional help even though you come for it. I can see why one doesn't want a brusque doctor for long term, if they're more sensitive. That's understandable, but she is a general practitioner, not a therapist. If you want ample time to talk about things, then this place may not be suitable. However, when it comes to quick expertise and professionalism without fluff, this is the place to go.

Meanwhile, they've already arranged for my colon cancer screening materials to be shipped and they'll be here Friday. In other words, if all you need is preventive care, you're going to be great here. But if you actually require ongoing or followup care, you're going to fall through the cracks. As soon as the colon cancer screening is done, I'll be looking for a new doctor.
