Rude, rude, rude. The nurses at this place are the worst I've encountered in 50+ years of life…read more 35-1 nurse/patient ratio. This is the most horrible place you can bring a human in my opinion. My 98yo Graham entered this facility in descent health and left with bed sores, a UTI, and basically dead. She did not have those issues prior to being in this facility. The nurse are beyond rude. The phone rarely gets answered. One of the nurses told my 98yo Graham she was acting like a baby. They were very rude to her. They laid her up in a bed, she wasn't eating, they would remove the food without feeding her. They didn't even try. The TV was out of reach. They would not place the phone where she could answer it. They made her keep the volume down to where she couldn't hear the TV. She complained about pain on her back side and they did nothing. Come to find out she had bed sores and a UTI. This place is horrible and you'll see my reviews and letters to the state regarding this facility everywhere. It was a terrible, terrible experience both from the outside looking in and inside looking out. 35-1 nurse/patient ratio.

My dad received hospice care from VITAS. We were told when we first met with a coordinator that…read moresomeone was available 24/7. We loved our aide who came a few times a week to bathe my dad. She was wonderful and caring. Our nurse was ok but we did see a couple other nurses when ours wasn't available that were outstanding. The social worker who came when my dad passed away was so caring and helpful. Now about the 24/7 care...it was non existent. I called one evening at 6:42 and really needed help. We received a call back at 11:45. Almost 5 hours later. This happened more than once. After hours nurses never ever showed. I called about my dad being in pain at 9:00 on a Friday morning. At 1:00 no one had called me so I called again. I was told they would call in a prescription and a nurse would come and show us how to use it. No nurse ever came. No pain meds. The following Monday my dad had difficulty breathing and our regular nurse called to say he couldn't make it. My mom called and asked for someone else to come because he was really bad. She was told no one was available to come. I ended up calling, talked to a manager, and finally got someone to come. My dad passed away shortly after the nurse left. I thought the idea of hospice was to make the patient comfortable (no pain meds) and make things less stressful for the family. VITAS caused more stress at times with their inconsistent care.

My Father died before visiting hours opened in the morning hours. Family was NEVER called until AFTER he died. Did anyone assess him during the night so they could inform us of the signs of dying? No one will say. No one called until AFTER my Father passed. Turns out we found out that there are NO limiting visiting hours for hospice families. My dad died ALONE in that nursing home with no family there. And it DIDNT HAVE TO HAPPEN!

Greatest decision ever made on my mother's behalf. My sisters and I couldn't allow the unacceptable level of care to continue. After arriving at the hospital and being given several test it was determined that she needed 2 units of blood and had a blood clot that has formed behind her knee. She has been here 4 days. Our mother is 84. This lack of proper care or dismissive concerns could have cost us our mother. If something doesn't feel right it usually isn't. This place is definitely not on my recommended places to trust with the care of a loved one.
