During our tours and meetings with each restaurant's representatives for special events, we asked for their list of recommended vendors (3 of the 4 included Fat Cat Flowers)... so we checked out their instagram page and then contacted Diane Mouton (owner) and were impressed. We began all communication with Diane in October and kept in contact with her to develop our final decisions for our January 26 wedding date (but the style/taste of our order stayed rather consistent from the start). The original quote was quite high for us, mostly due to a couple table arrangements but with our wedding being a micro-wedding (with only 18 guests), we thought it best to eliminate the table arrangements and only get (2) boutonnières and the bridal bouquet. Fat Cat Flowers had no hesitation about handling our small order... And we were very timely with making our deposit (and final payment as well). The BRIDAL BOUQUET was to be White Hydrangea with some Lavender Roses. It was always stressed to Fat Cat Flowers that I had some specifics for the BOUTONNIERES... such as it not being too feminine (like no roses), wanting them to be on the smaller size and wanting it to be very simple. We even sent numerous pictures of what I like (mostly simple stuff with twine; basically a very rustic, mascaline look). As the wedding date approached, we had to finalize and confirm our order... I confirmed the BRIDAL BOUQUET to be the same as when we started; As for the Father and Son BOUTONNIERES, my wife sent the following email to Diane to confirm what I wanted: * * * * * * * * * * "So it turns out father and son, both pretty much like the same style and they are both very very simple. Glenn's father would like baby's breath with twine or something similar to hold it together but preferably not ribbon (IF you don't have twine). I attached a couple samples to assist." Glenn's boutonniere is to be the same, except it would be a nice touch if you could add just a modest touch of something green (such as wintergreen) or neutral (such as wheat as seen in attach picture) or something of your liking; but be sure it's very minimal and not colorful." * * * * * * * * * * The flowers were delivered to the front desk of our hotel while we were out running errands; upon our arrival to the hotel and time to get ready I saw her BRIDAL BOUQUET and I thought my wife would've preferred more White Hydrangea and less Lavender Rose but overall the arrangement was lovely. Wish I could've said the same for my BOUTONNIERES... I received LAVENDER ROSE WITH GREEN RIBBON... It was specifically what I said I DO NOT WANT (feminine and colorful) Did Fat Cat Flowers ignore everything we discussed and confirmed in numerous emails... plus numerous pictures of our simple taste?!?!?! So the GROOM and his Father ended up wearing NO BOUTONNIERES!!! * * * * * * * * * * I called Diane and expressed my disappointment.... explained all of what I said above. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was further disappointed with excuses instead of an apology. She said she tries to match the Boutonniere flowers to the Bridal Bouquet flowers; despite it's not what I asked for. She did suggest this in one email but it was rejected since I do not like colorful flowers for my Boutonniere. She also said Baby's Breath would end up costing twice the price we paid; then why did she agree to do it and never express this as a concern. She refunded the price of the BOUTONNIERES (and I accepted that), but I do believe the whole order should've been refunded... considering I wouldn't have made a deal to buy just the BRIDAL BOUQUET without the Boutonnieres * * * * * * * * * * I know Fat Cat Flowers / Diane Mouton are capable of more... but if my order wasn't worth the time then I wish she would've explained that to us and we could've placed the order with another flower vendor. * * * * * * * * * * Added 2/21/19 In response to Fat Cat Flowers' statement below: my contract never stated lavender flowers; it originally said White Ranunculus but it was removed because I didn't like them and the contract was actually written as Boutonnieres TBD (to be determined) when we made our deposit.

At the rehearsal dinner, they had a gorgeous floral arrangement at the entrance of the venue and even did a floral arrangement at the ghost's table (so fun). The arrangements on the table were beautifully designed. We received so many compliments that night and knew our wedding was going to be just as amazing. Several months before our wedding, we met with Diane and described our vision for the wedding. On our wedding day, she took our vision and blew away our expectations. To put it in perspective, our guests described our wedding as having a "secret garden" vibe. Diane suggested greenery on the ceiling that gave our wedding a dreamy-look. She also designed the alter with beautiful foliage and florals. Overall, Diane is the best of the best florist. We can't recommend her enough. To reiterate, she will perfectly capture your vision and even take it beyond what you would ever imagine. Her personality is very spunky and is a blast to work with. I will forever remember her joke on where to hold my bouquet!

My mom is the type of person hat thinks flowers are dumb cause they die within a week or two, but still loves to see and smell it. I decided to place an online order for delivery, a month in advance but they could only deliver 2 days after Mother's Day. I decided to order since my mom doesn't make a big deal out of late celebration deliveries, and also I have not been able to find a local florist that delivered in 70058 till I stumbled upon Simply Gorgeous Flowers. The day of delivery, the florist called me that she could not see my credit card number online - only the last four digits. She asked me to send it give it to her over the phone, but I felt uncomfortable with that idea. She told me she can send an invoice (via Quickbooks) and I just need to put the credit card number in and we should be ok. I felt much more comfortable with that idea and my flowers were delivered that day. My mom LOVED her flowers. The pricing was affordable and the flowers were great! The roses were blossomed and full at arrival and the lilies were going to be blossomed soon! This means the bouquet could last a couple weeks! She also noted that the flowers smelled better than the ones in the past, so this was a bonus! I will continue to order from Simply Gorgeous Flowers again in the future. Hopefully I can stop in one day when I'm back down visiting.

Recently made the trip to visit Blucid Florals in the Lower Ninth Ward. Had the chance to meet Brandi, owner and founder of Blucid Floral. After seeing her beautiful works of floral art via social media, I knew I needed to make a trip and go get an arrangement for myself. Parking isn't too bad as you're allowed to park on the left side of the building in the grassy lot which is a solid save since street parking is somewhat limited. Variety of stems were available to have a "build your own bouquet" ranging from $4-$7 a stem and the best part is Brandi will wrap them in her signature black and white stripe bouquet paper (it's plastic and doesn't get all damp!) and hand tied with a piece of burlap string. It's hella cute y'all. I was able to take them home and keep them in water until it was time to give them to my partner. Selfishly had them for two days beforehand and I'll do it again lmao. The bouquet was arranged so pretty and had some nice greenery in it. I really appreciated how Brandi broke down the pricing and explained how floral pricing works for higher end flowers and fillers. She does not play y'all, I've had my flowers for a little under a week and they're still thriving! Some flowers she features are lilly, ranunculus, various colors of roses, and way to many to mention. But many were the first time I had ever seen in my life. I felt like pretty woman at the high end boutique but with amazing customer service! The colors and vibrancy of her flowers are out of this world and the bloom on each stem was crazy beautiful. They weren't withering nor "ble", I know it's not descriptive but we have all seen flowers were they weren't given the proper love and nurture. Before COVID-19, Brandi was more in the large scale floral productions for corporate events and weddings; however, she soon realized that her needs were to open up her doors and provide an opportunity for the community to have a splash of color and benefit from the positive aspects of being in close proximity to florals. When I first walked in there was a bouquet pre-made for a client and it was gorgeous. I was about to take a picture but alas it was too late since the client arrived within two minutes lol. Brandi does not play y'all! She has a very loyal customer base who come in frequently, it also doesn't hurt she has a loyalty program. You can also grab bundles of eucalyptus for around $8 if I'm correct. You just have to hope she still has some when you get there lol. There's something so soothing about this space and it honestly has to do with the energy Blucid Floral produces. Fun Fact- Brandi is also in a second line. She is a great advocate for local businesses as she allows businesses and entrepreneurs to promote themselves with their business cards at check-out. First, I ordered a Deluxe Bon Vivant Fruit basket pictured below, next to the travesty they actually delivered (late): The basket that Adrian's Florist delivered looked absolutely nothing like the product advertised and I was lied to at several points throughout the transaction. When the product was not delivered on the day promised, I called. The woman on the phone told me that they had just received the fruit, so it would be delivered the next day instead. Okay, that's annoying, but I figured things happen and they needed time. The next afternoon I called again because I still had not received any communication about a delivery. A man answered and said that the owner was out buying the fruit. So I was lied to the day earlier by the woman, who told me that she had just received the fruit. In fact, the entire basket looks like they just went to a grocery store and bought some fruit and a few cheap chocolates, along with a bag of pretzels. They are charging 175 dollars for this travesty, mind you. When I called to ask for a refund, the same woman from before even admitted that the products on the website are over 4 years old and not what they actually deliver. In other words, THEY ARE FALSELY ADVERTISING THEIR PRODUCTS ON THEIR SITE. They refused to give me a refund unless they picked the basket up again, which is absurd. This basket was for a good friend who was recovering from a major medical procedure. I was not going to burden them with that. As you can see from the photos, there is no wicker basket. It's just a plastic tray holding everything. There's no gourmet chocolate, just a few hershey's bars, clearly bought from a grocery store, and there's a handful of fruit, nothing like what is in the picture.
