We did not hire a wedding planner and now, knowing just how much work is involved in planning a wedding, I think we simply couldn't have done it without their guidance and tips, which they provided even for events beyond the wedding and their scope of work. So much so that we did not feel the need to hire a wedding planner. Their vendor list is very helpful, everyone they recommended did an incredible job. The building itself is nothing short of magical. Giving our guests a real taste of New Orleans was incredibly important. If our guests did nothing else during their trip, we wanted them to feel like they had an experience unique to the city. My company was visiting New Orleans for a work trip and we hosted a gala dinner/awards ceremony here. I worked with Rylan and Hana to help plan my event--they exceeded my expectations on all accounts & were so accommodating to any requests I had! Location was perfect as it was right by the French Quarter. The venue itself is gorgeous--it's set in an old bank and has the perfect amount of charm. We were able to seat 50 people comfortably for dinner, and could definitely seat more. The venue has a back area/courtyard as well where we hosted the party/dancing/jazz band/photobooth after dinner. Food was phenomenal. Was not expecting it to be as amazing as it was especially with a larger group and at a venue. One of the best meals I had in New Orleans! Overall, had the best experience working with Latrobe's. I'm usually very picky with venue and food and they blew it out of the park. One of the best event spaces and people to work with. Oh my. This was the location of my niece's wedding on Saturday night and we had the whole space and it was GORGEOUS! All the out of town guests were super impressed with the historic FQ charm and I was really impressed with the staff and the food. All the items from the fancy crudite display to the passed appetizers to the crawfish ettouffe to the amazing mashed potatoes were yummy. The staff was really accommodating to the various needs of my family, from finding an additional chair for older parents to pretending I wasn't sitting in a corner on the floor with a child crashed in my lap. Of course, this being NOLA, I'm friends with a few of the management folks who run the joint but my brother wasn't aware of that connection until late in the game. What a cool spot for a wedding! The food was amazing - seafood gumbo was the best I've ever had. It had huge chunks of seafood in it, no skimping there. And the seafood tortellini and oyster bar were also great. Beautiful inside. Vaulted ceilings, historic charm and beauty. My only complaint was the three rooms. Because of the size of the wedding I attended, there were people in all three at all times and food was being served in all of them. It was a bit challenging to navigate, and I missed two entire food stations! But for a smaller wedding that starts in one room and then moves into the other, this would be perfect. read more

We had our wedding ceremony and reception here in November 2021 and cannot say enough about how much we loved it. The Space: You are in awe by how grand and historic every part of the space is from the entryway to the reception space. The ceilings are very high, the color of the space is warm and you truly do not need to decorate very much because the space is so beautiful. It also is very flexible for your number of guests and flow of events. We decided to do both our ceremony and reception here. We had the ceremony in the courtyard space (which is indoors) and then flowed through into the reception space for our cocktail-style reception. We had about 120 guests and it felt very comfortable. Definitely suggest doing the cocktail-style reception. We wanted to do a seated dinner, but ended up choosing the cocktail-style reception. It gave guests more flexibility and more dancing! The Food and Drink: WOW- everything is delicious here. We had many guests say this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding and many said it was the best food they had in New Orleans! The menu is expansive to fit any event and they are creative to fit your event or audience, especially when it comes to accommodating food allergies. Make sure to order the Ahi Tuna and the rice and beans- our favorites! Also, the bar is amazing- folks drink sazeracs to old fashioneds all night!! The bar packages include everything you need. The Planning: Working with Millie, Hana and Rylan was so fun, organized and they never let you become overwhelmed. They take care and think of every detail so you do not need a wedding planner, unless you need major help on things unrelated to the wedding space. Not only did they help us with the details related to the venue, they ensured that we were thinking about a smooth whole wedding day including tips for our officiant, organizing our photo list to organizing the second line. When you sign your contract they also give you a list of vendors- we used it for every decision from decorating, hotel blocks, and hair. The People: This may be slightly repetitive but all of the staff at Latrobe's are just so kind and thoughtful at every turn. The planning process with Millie, Hana and Rylan was a delight and they were patient when we had a million repetitive questions and encouraging as we embarked on planning our wedding while we lived far away. I even caught them at one point helping sew one of our guests dresses that had ripped- they really show the best care. The other staff from the waitstaff to bartenders were truly kind, thoughtful and so hospitable. Q who took us around all night made us feel comfortable, cared for and so special. The Couples Experience: Guests had the best experience but we should also say as the couple it was so thoughtfully laid out. The flow for my husband and I was perfect. After the ceremony, they had a plate of food with champagne for my husband and I to enjoy with a moment of quiet before we entered the party. They checked on us throughout the night to make sure we had anything we needed. We felt so cared for and got to eat which no couple ever says! I wish I had more stars to give. My daughters wedding ceremony and reception were nothing short of magical. Rylan, Hana, and Millie are AMAZING! From the first tour, to the planning/tastings, rehearsal, to the actual ceremony and reception was just PERFECT. We live 6 hours away and were in their hands because we (the parents) didn't know how New Orleans "rolled"! They provided us with a surplus of information, and not just for their venue, but for little tidbits leading up to the wedding. The venue is absolutely breathtaking. The key words I have heard from the wedding are breath taking, stunning, "blown away". I haven't even mentioned how we were taken care of- Marte is truly an AMAZING person! He is so genuine and kind and wonderful! He carried my daughters train around from front of building to the entrance so nothing would get on it before going down the aisle . And when my husband said to her that if marriage isn't what she wants, they will turn left instead of right to the doors and Marte said "and I'm turning left with you" ! ( don't read anything into my husband's comment! It's a family thing where his Dad said it to him and we have been happily married for 33 years) Marte took excellent care of us- ALL of the staff did! The DJ was on point and everyone was enjoying the dance floor, and when the fine folks that had been taking such care of us all evening, got in on the dances-- it was the cherry on top! SO MUCH FUN!! The hot and cold passes were perfect- the food was AMAZING- at one point, my husband got up and got in line for food, and Marte quickly redirected him back to his seat and told him " I got you". Our original wedding venue went under due to COVID related issues in 2021...so we were quite panicked that we had to start all over and look around for a decent venue (along with everyone else who had to re-plan their weddings). We kind of just...stumbled upon Latrobe's and we sent an inquiry. Rylan, Hanna and Millie immediately replied...and kept on replying to any questions I had. One thing I was impressed with was that, when we met with them in person or exchanged emails with them, they ALWAYS talked to and included the groom. A lot of places prior to Latrobe's just ignored my then-fiancé, thinking his shyness was bored disinterest. My now husband was impressed by their insistence on making him part of the conversation. When we signed the contract...I was nervous we'd be ghosted for awhile...I was always wrong! Rylan always made sure to get back to me, to answer any questions we had, and always gave GREAT advice on all things wedding (PSA - she's usually right on everything). BEAUTIFUL! GORGEOUS! BREATHTAKING! Wow. Latrobe's is one of the best wedding venues I have ever entered. I attended a wedding that consisted of bout 100 people total. Just the perfect size for a group around that number. There is a main foyer and a collection of rooms that feel like they blend together while remaining separated. From wedding to reception, the transition was so smooth just based on the design of the building, alone. The decor is very simple but it's made super-dramatic by strategically placed recessed colored lighting and candles. Also, not sure of the specifics but the building itself gives off an old vibe - like a century old or something. Rather than being creepy, it just adds to the romanticism (is that a word?) of an occasion such as a wedding. The staff was so awesome, attending to all of our needs and just being extra-accommodating. I would suggest for anyone looking to be wed in the French Quarter that they look into Latrobe's. Each year, our company hosts an exclusive VIP Event for our high-level executives and spouses. We have had the pleasure of visiting some spectacular destinations - Punta Mita, Mexico, Jackson Hole, WY, Scottsdale, AZ, Park City, UT and Tucson, AZ. This year, we chose New Orleans as the location and I was tasked with finding a unique venue for a dinner reception. New Orleans offers a multitude of options for a reception from renowned restaurants, historic mansions and museums. While I received proposals from at least ten venues, I was drawn to Latrobe's on Royal. Ultimately, I chose Latrobe's sight unseen based on the pictures online, location, menu, value and responsiveness of the staff. Fingers crossed that they would deliver to the level we are accustomed. I am happy to report that our 50 guests were blown away by the stunning architecture, delicious food, appealing presentation, lively (but unobtrusive) jazz band, and attentive service. This is not an easy crowd to please, and Latrobe's impressed everyone. The pictures don't do justice to the beauty and warmth of the building - even without extra décor, it is simply elegant. The menu selections were on par (if not better) than any of the highly recommended restaurants we visited. The staff was welcoming, friendly and flexible with onsite requests. While initially worried that the jazz trio may drown out conversation, they were set up just outside the main room so you could enjoy them without shouting over them. Again, very thoughtful from a planner's perspective. I don't normally repeat venues when returning to a city, but I would not hesitate to hold another reception at Latrobe's on Royal. We recently gave a Pre Wedding Dinner Party for 115 people at Latrobe's. The venue is so historic, spacious and beautiful inside. The food was FABULOUS!! It has the old New Orleans charm that gives it a very romantic vibe, perfect for a wedding. The architecture and decor on the inside only adds to its ambience. The tour we had with Wendy was awful last weekend. We were on time unlike some other guests but she went out of her way to be extremely rude to them. Regardless if she was right there were MUCH more professional ways of handling herself. This happened countless times within the first 45 minutes of the tour. And prior to starting when my friend made a "woo" of excitement Wendy made a comment comparing her to Hitler. It was a beautiful setting, as almost any historic building in the French Quarter is, but the real star of the night was the food. Latrobe's catering created a fabulous menu. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, crawfish penne pasta, shrimp & grits, crawfish beignets, boudin balls, raw oysters, boiled shrimp, artichoke cheesecake -- everything was amazing. My beautiful wife and I got married in New Orleans on September 14, 2013. We got married at Rayne UMC and had our reception at Latrobe's on Royal St. Honestly, we loved everything about Latrobe's and our guests did as well. We first found out about Latrobe's online and we went to visit before we picked this as our reception destination. Folks, the building is overwhelmingly beautiful and historic. If you are looking for a "French Quarter" setting then I would recommend this place. Being the history geek that I am, I loved that this once a bank designed by one of the most well thought of architects in American history. I'd say we had around 200-250 at our reception and the building was a perfect size for that. The "tip tips" played and I think they brought 6-8 members with them. The stage looks small when nobody is in the room but it ended up being plenty of room for a 8 person band. There are a few different rooms to set up food tables and bar areas. You will NOT get the feel of a huge one room warehouse. The rooms each have their own character and it leaves plenty of room for people to escape and mingle throughout. As far as the staff, we had no complaints. I forgot their names (I'm sure my wife and her mother know them) but they did an excellent job. They provide a small room (with food) for the bride and groom to be together and rest after the wedding until the band introduces the new couple. This is a time to be alone and just relax for a few minutes before cutting a rug on the dance floor (or at least trying to). The staff organized everything nicely and they even let you take pictures in the owner's apartment upstairs (beautiful). They also let us do a "second line" around the block. Apparently our guests partied pretty hard that night which was fun for everybody. We used John Besh for the catering and it was wonderful. The manager who was handling the bar and the food always made sure the bride and groom had a full drink in their hand. That was a nice touch I didn't expect. Did I mention it was wonderful food? All in all, if you are looking to have a destination wedding then New Orleans is the place. It's IMPOSSIBLE for your guests not to have a good time in that city. The most important and best decision that we made about our wedding was choosing Latrobe's for our ceremony and reception. The venue is stunningly beautiful and really gives guests the feel of authentic New Orleans. It was so nice to have everything inside in a climate-controled space that allowed us all to relax and not worry about what would happen if it rained, or was too hot. That peace of mind was worth more than we can say. From the moment we booked the space, Jessie and Rylan and their staff took care of all of the heavy lifting. They made well-informed and thoughtful suggestions about their favorite vendors (who became our favorite as well.) During the planning they were both attentive to our specific needs and requests and invaluable with their knowledge and expertise regarding timing, flow and the myriad other details which led to the success of our wedding. They treated us all with respect and patience, and guided us towards decisions which both fulfilled our vision and worked within the framework of their experience. The night of the wedding, Jessie and Rylan felt more like friends and guests than "coordinators," while still kicking butt and doing their jobs to the utmost effect. The entire event ran like clockwork and if there was a problem or issue, we certainly had no idea. We were able to relax and have a crazy good time at our own wedding (how often do people - especially the bride - get to say that?!) knowing that we were in the most capable hands. We weren't the only ones who had the time of their lives; our guests are still raving, months after the wedding, about how wonderful it was. The waitstaff was fantastic - available, but not intrusive. All reports from our guests were glowing; "The staff was really helpful - I lost my purse and they tracked it down in minutes." "My wife needed a gluten free meal and they accommodated her straight away." The groom's cousin Tom told him that, at the end of the event, someone on the waitstaff gave him a go cup, explaining that he could take his beer outside with the Second Line in the go cup. Tom asked for another for his wife who was drinking champagne and the member of Latrobe's staff filled a 22 oz. go cup with bubbly, handed it to him and said "Laissez les bon temps rouler!" The John Besh food was outstanding and plentiful. Most of our guests were out-of-towners so it was important to us that they had the opportunity to enjoy the particular culinary ouevre which is New Orleans cuisine. Months later we are still hearing rave reviews of the food. The fried oyster appetizers and the brisket, the bread pudding and the artichoke cheesecakes were all crowd favorites. We, of course, didn't eat a thing at the wedding (we were too busy dancing up a storm!), but when we arrived at our hotel at the end of the night, our wedding planners (the incomparable Girls in Black, a Latrobe's recommendation) had delivered a huge assortment of all of the food packed up in take-out containers! It was a perfect way to end our wedding night; sitting in bed, eating the wonderful food, and reliving what was truly the best day of our lives. BEST VENUE IN NEW ORLEANS I held my wedding at Latrobe's on Royal on November 18, 2017. Every expectation I had was not only met, but was exceeded. Milli and Rylan were both extremely responsive to every question or concern that I had and made sure that I felt secure every step of the way. I am from New York and my husband is from Miami. We were both a little nervous about the New Orleans style wedding. With that said, it was the best decision I could have made. My guests who are typically used to a sit down/plated event, loved the flow of a reception style wedding and danced the night away. The location of the venue is perfect, the New Orleans charm of the historic building is very romantic, and the food is better than any New Orleans restaurant. I just had a wedding/reception here and I can not agree more with everything said about the venue and the food. Such a wonderful location in the french quarter and the decor was exactly what we were looking for. It was a beautiful place for our day and I can not say enough about the food. Well maybe I can say more about the food. It is hands down fantastic. Shrimp n Grits are one of the best things I have ever eaten. Every appetizer that we tasted and had at our reception was out of this world good. Top notch!!! So you wonder "why only 3 stars?" Two words. . . customer service. As you may know, weddings/receptions tend to cost a lot of money. I could be wrong but I was expecting a service level equivalent to the price of the event. This place does a lot of events so I can understand slow responses to questions a month or two before the event. What I can't comprehend is not responding to emails in this day and age for over a week and a half. Even more so its baffling that we sent several emails 2-2 1/2 weeks before or reception date to ask for a final price and do some last minute costing of extra services. It took OVER A WEEK to get a response. Latrobe's responded by saying there was construction in the quarter and it was causing internet problems. REALLY!!! Even if this is true, A business like this without the ability to get emails on a phone? That is a concern to me. Next they finally sent us an estimate of the final bill which included an additional $4,500 "mistake." They double counted the rental fee in the per guest price and as an additional charge on top. Taken alone, honest mistake. After not receiving emails for a week and half and now 6 days from the event, this pissed me off. Lastly, we included in our contract "special" drinks for the bride and groom. A personal stash if you will. Latrobe's completely dropped the ball on this and when I finally had the chance to go the bar and complain, I was told it was "my problem" even though it was clearly written into the contract that I had with Latrobe's. They did upgrade the bar for the rest of the night so no harm no foul here. But overall, Latrobe's just misses the point. Planning weddings can be stressful on folks. What makes them less stressful is communication between everyone involved. Please Latrobe's, you have a great venue and amazing food, just pick up a phone or answer an email within a reasonable amount of time. And if you are wondering, knowing beforehand about the communication issues, I would have still booked this place for the wedding/reception. read more

If you're considering booking at Latrobe's, don't second guess yourself. JUST DO IT. You will not be disappointed. Jessie and Rylan were so helpful through our entire planning process. One of the most helpful things was the 'preferred vendor list' they provided upon booking. We booked everything off of their list: our photographer, band, flowers, ceremony musician, and candles. It made wedding planning so easy! The second we walked into Latrobe's on our wedding night felt like a dream. The venue is so old New Orleans with the perfect french quarter charm. The building without decor is so gorgeous, but oh my goodness when it's lit with candlelight and roses it is just so incredibly romantic. Not to mention the FOOD. Every single dish was to die for. We got so many compliments from our guests about how perfect our wedding was and how delicious the food was. Everyone warned me to be prepared if anything went wrong on my wedding day... but NOTHING went wrong. It was perfect. Latrobe's was perfect. My husband and I even spent the next night after our wedding walking around the french quarter. We stood across the street staring at Latrobe's, overwhelmed with emotions from the night before and even let out a few tears of joy. Latrobe's now has such a special place in our hearts. This venue is utterly magnificent! My husband & I got married here on Halloween night & Latrobe's could not have been more ideal. Our 60+ guests raved about the food, atmosphere, & staff. We booked the venue in April & worked w/ Jessica - who is amazing. She was able to show us the layout, coordinate w/ our vendors, & somehow keep smiling :) My husband is gluten intolerant, & Latrobe's was able to create our entire buffet gluten-free & label everything perfectly. Everyone was kind & accomodating & I can't say enough. If you are getting married in the French Quarter, this is absolutely the only way to go. This is the place to get married if you want all your wedding dreams to come true. I will never be able to say enough about this beautiful venue and the beyond amazing people who made our wedding spectacular. Milli and Rylan helped us every step along the way. At Latrobe's you're not just getting a location you're really getting the support and guidance of people who know what they're doing. I am amazed at how much they helped us and how special they made us feel from beginning to end. We kept asking ourselves, is this real? Rylan prepared us completely beforehand so we felt completely secure that everything would be perfect when we walked through the doors, and it was. Rylan did everything from greeting guests, to dancing to get our group from Connecticut ready to Second Line out, we couldn't have asked or hoped for more. If you choose to have your event at Latrobe's my number one piece of advice is Listen to Rylan, she knows what she's talking about. There were several instances when her suggestions were spot on.
