I was skeptical at first to try massage again after having lackluster messages in the area. Wow, Emily is fantastic! Her space is not easy to find, but it is SO worth it! When you enter the building on the lower level, you come into an old warehouse. High ceilings, polished wood floors and space. Emily is located on the second floor down a narrow-ish (compared to the rest of building) hallway. Coming into Massage Junkees is like entering a peaceful retreat. Today is bright and sunny, though you'd never know it. The lighting in the massage room has that beautiful evening glow that adds to it's cozy warm feel. Emily will ask you each time what you'd like - Swedish, deep tissue, and/or trigger points. She'll also ask about problem areas you'd like her to focus on or if there are more delicate areas/or injuries to be aware of. For this session, I'm in the midst of my final finals...I needed it ALL! For an hour Emily worked out the kinks and knots in my neck, back and shoulders. Then she messaged my legs and arms. I feel like a brand new woman. I'm relaxed and yet at the same time energized. My…read moremassage therapist had a tight demeanor and freezing hands and kept spraying them down with alcohol or sanitizer, which was offputting and absurd given what we know about covid. She did not introduce herself or ask me what my interests were- there was only the online form which is not a great way to communicate. Below average technique- like, just indiscriminately rubbing on my body with lotion vs listening and tending therapeutically to it's needs (which are many since I'm 8 months pregnant). She was nice enough but it was not an enjoyable experience. Just don't be fooled by the pretty photos and fancy sounding services on their schedule- they are basic. They are in a converted corporate hotel. Go somewhere else if you want a quality or boutique experience.
