John and his people at Arbordale are amazing! They installed our pond and waterfall feature six years ago and have been back every spring to open it for us and keep it looking beautiful. Everyday we listen and view the calm burbling brook and the antics of our little aquatic friends. We hired them this year to do an almost complete landscaping renual in our backyard....I didn't realize "landscaping" in their name didn't mean just Lawn Service. Some small gardens had gone wild..ground cover was out of control, some slate garden edging was completely lost in the overgrown weeds. They brought a little machine and several ambitious helpers to collect and stack the lost slate, they saved and took care not to damage the plantings we hoped to keep. Everything on our list was addressed to the Tee. They planted several new fruit trees we found they had in stock and at a local nursery. Tore out some stubborn old shrubs in front of the house we didn't know what to do with. They also took care of some old stumps the previous tree service left. I can't express fully how thrilled we are with the work. They showed up on time, they worked all day, the men were engaged, they took care to listen to our opinions and offered creative options to where the plantings would look best and how to care for them after. If I could I would rate them 7 out of 5 stars. Our backyard suddenly seems 1000 sq feet bigger... Well done Arbordale!! Thank you! read more

Arbordale was working on the property next door while working they cut down 4 trees on my property we used for privacy coverage from the street. When I talked to John the owner, he offered me 1 5 foot pine tree. When I mentioned that wouldn't fill in the bare space left by his mistake, and that I wanted the open space filled in. With whatever would cover the area he suggested I call an attorney and walked away from me. I've since filed BBB, CFPB, NYS Attorney general, and complaints with Erie County. Next step is court. I just want this man to fix his mistakes. Let's see what a judge has to say. Anyone looking for work done might wanna look somewhere else. read more

The selection of plants and supplies is huge, prices are reasonable, and the family-run staff are super knowledgeable and helpful. Got a question about a tree, plant, flower or pond feature? They'll have an answer. When I moved into the neighborhood and cleared an overgrown raised bed in my front yard, the staff helped me to select a range of plants that would alternately flower and add color from spring through fall, and grow to the right height for where I wanted to place them. Planters, plant food, bird feeders, pots, hoses...literally everything you need for your gardens. Have driven past Arbordale dozens of times but finally decided to stop in on my quest to find non-garbage bagged topsoil (The big box stores have horrible quality bagged topsoil). Arbordale had everything I was looking for to do a lawn renovation, and the quality of their products seems very good. Not only will we be returning, but will also recommend to family/friends looking for plants, soils, fertilizer, etc. Plus it's always nice to support local family-owned businesses. read more

This is my go-to place for faerie garden supplies! They have such a nice selection of supplies that you can't find anywhere else and the prices weren't terrible either. They often have pieces on sale that aren't in season as well. I can't speak to anything else here though because fairy garden supplies are the only thing I've bought here. read more

Purchased 4 plants, $350. Brought a beautiful oak leaf hydrangea back because leaves and flowered were dying within two days and mealy bugs all over plant. The assistant manager, grace, Said i was crazy. She told me to take it home and that it was fine. I did so much research and i had to pick out bugs and place them on the counter so she could see them. She agreed and I got zero recommendation from her. Said I could not return or replace plant. Apparently they also had to get rid of of all the hydrangeas too. I asked that the owner call me to discuss this, and nobody called me back. I had a water falls installed last year. I had $400.00 worth of perennial's installed. One of the grasses died over the summer. I contacted them 5 times along with a picture of the dead grass. During the 5th call they said they only guarantee grasses for 3 months. Why didn't they tell me that sooner? The reason I had Arbordale was I loved the look of my neighbor's they just installed. I asked them to install one exactly like my neighbors. It isn't like hers at all. I do not recommend Arbordale Nurseries. read more

One of my favorite nurseries in the area. All the staff is extremely helpful and will answer any questions you have about your landscaping and trees. A maple tree I bought from them last year was priced way cheaper then any other place in the area and is thriving in my garden. I have heard that you can schedule the owner to come to your house to design your pond or landscaping if you are unsure which direction your going. If your looking for a fruit tree for your house they seem to have one of the better selections in the area. read more

I found this gem a couple years ago. I found their pond shop to be fully stocked with everything I need for our pond/waterfalls. They have fish, treatments, koi fish food, pumps and filters. On my second visit there I explored their greenhouse and shrub yard. I was impressed with the quality and choice of plants. A very nice woman helped me choose perennials and shrubs for my pollinator garden. They also have many native plants. Definitely 5 stars! read more

Great selection of vegetable and flower plants. A cool sections of ponds, koi fish, and POLYWOGS!! Also, a separate section of items needed to make a fairy garden. Did you know this was a thing? I did not, but now I want to make one and put those polywogs in mine, although due to scale, they will be sea monsters. read more

This is our favorite nursery in the area. They have a few inexpensive options ($1.99 perennials! Don't see that much anymore), and more expensive shrubs and trees. You can find good bargains here, and the staff is very helpful. The plants we've bought here have been good quality. One complaint is that it's hard to know when they're open--I believe their website is wrong about their hours, and I'm pretty sure I've seen them closed when the sign on their front window says they should be open. If I were in charge I would make some different choices with the stock (e.g., more heirloom veggies, fewer invasive plants for sale), but it's still worth checking out, especially if you have or want a water feature. read more

I am absolutely thrilled with my new landscaping! It's even more beautiful than I imagined. After having my pool removed, the concrete patio that was poured around my pool looked really weird with an arc cut out of it. Jeff from Arbordale designed my yard to make it look like it was all meant to be that way! The trees and shrubs Jeff chose are perfect! He and his crew were very professional and knowledgeable and also very accommodating and friendly. They totally cleaned up after themselves too. Horrible business etiquette.. Arbordale called me in the beginning of the season to schedule an appointment for landscaping work on my property. Owner came for evaluation, and called me in for a follow up trip to the nursery to walk around with rep to look at my choices. Said they will call within the next 2 weeks for final look at the plans and start right away but I never heard back!! After 2 weeks, I called to follow up but no response!!! It's been 2 months! No call and no call back! Not even to let me know they don't want to do the job!!! Are u serious!?? Why would you not follow up or at least correspond? Never will I recommend this business. I had the most WONDERFUL experience with Arbordale. My siblings and I wanted to buy our mother and her husband a tree as a wedding gift, but none of us live locally, nor do we know anything about trees, really. The happy couple loves to garden, and we thought a new family tree would be the perfect symbol of the adventure upon which they're embarking (pun intended) together. I called around to a few different nurseries (which shall remain nameless) and to my disappointment, I was met with tremendous resistance (and on one occasion, downright rudeness). But then I called Arbordale and Allyson picked up the phone...everything changed. She was a DREAM. First of all, she was super excited about the idea. She had some thoughts about which types of trees would be appropriate (we landed on a redwood, which Allyson suggested because it means "forever" - isn't that delightful?), and since I couldn't stop by the nursery, she went out and took pictures of a few of her favorite redwoods and emailed them to me to have a look. She setup delivery for us (which was executed seamlessly) and even fashioned a giant bow out of some spare fabric (it was a gift after all!). She just went ABOVE AND BEYOND. I'm not sure I've ever had such wonderful, expert, thorough customer service (and she was pleasant to boot!). I wouldn't give my business to anyone else; I highly recommend you check them out. And our parents absolutely loved the tree. My mom weeps every time she looks at it - she said it was the "perfect gift". And if it weren't for Allyson and her team at Arbordale, it never would've happened. I can't thank you enough! read more
