In a quandary, I wondered how many bags of department store bags I'd need. Hmmmm.... As we all know our phones listen to everything we talk about.. ahem.... I began to find local places and one of them was Lakeside Sod on Goodrich rd.- then I remembered that I had seen them at the Home and Garden show in Hamburg, NY... Well, that was the best decision I've ever made. The soil is quality. They make it themselves. There is no "junk" in the soil. It's fine, rich, almost euphoric. I ended up getting 3 yards to fill my garden . Wait until you see my garden! The following year I discovered they sell mini bags for a super inexpensive price ( less than $20 ) it's about knee high and manageable to handle. This year, I also discovered resealable mini bags of mulch from them. O M G !! I just love this place. I happen to run into the owner a few weeks ago and he thanked me for my business- that never happens in today's world. How great is that?!?!!! The office staff that cashed me out are very friendly. Lastly, I'd like to mention the two gentlemen that loaded my car ( several times ) out back . They both were the most helpful, friendly, ( and strong! ) guys ever. They were very attentive when I drove back there, I did not have to wait around. You can tell that they were "people persons" and grateful for the little bit of my business. That made me smile. I bought $160.00 dollars worth of plants on 5/31, 1 out of the 6 Zinnia's I purchased immediately died within 2 days due to a broken stem that wasn't noticeable at purchase. Called them on 6/2, dealt with Amanda who was honestly the sweetest, kindest person I've ever dealt with besides the gentleman that owns the place and she saw the plant and even agreed with me that it was dead and let me exchange it. I planted the second one the same way as the 5 that are thriving and here we are 10 days later and my plant id app is saying it's sick meaning diseased. So thinking I would just exchange it again so they could see it.... Well this time when I called I got an older lady who literally refused to give me her name and stated "I do not need to give you my name" after I asked for her name at the end of the call because one she never introduced herself like I did and the tone of her voice and the way she talked to me was completely unacceptable and very unprofessional. This older woman told me "we don't do refunds so we're not going to give you another free plant, you are lucky you even got one free plant, for all we know it could have snapped at the base from the wind or you planted it wrong and all of our Zinnias are all healthy and doing great so obviously you did something wrong and killed the plant..." but even though there planted in window boxes and the rest are all thriving. I have spent thousands of dollars at this place and unfortunately with them I will never step foot again in that place. If the older gentleman saw me in person along with my significant other, he'd know exactly who we were. Also, if there are supposed signs in your place of business saying no refunds even though I'm not asking for a refund then maybe you should inform your employees regarding it. That older woman who answered my call should never be allowed to answer any calls nor work in a place of business that encounters customers. Absolutely unacceptable
